if players can be tapped up during their contract they surely must be able to buy out their contracts from day 1 (not after 3 years for under 28 year olds and 2 for over 28 year olds), which would mean that transfer fees are gone as a result of it.avaya said:Pre-Bosman the employment "rules" in football was like slave ownership. Absolutely disgusting. They all cried foul about it. Made fuck-all difference to football, players could just move more freely.
Transfer fees are not against the law. They are compensation to another club for buying a player in a contract. They are standard practice in other industries when high value individuals move but they aren't called transfer fees.
Why would you say transfer fees would fall if the anti-tapping up rules are officially revoked? They would have no real effect on transfer fees.
Tapping up goes on all the time. Sometimes clubs, managers and fans throw hysterical fits over it as if they are shocked that it happens. Most clubs are total hypocrites in the whole situation. It's just another labour market.

It basically means they can quit any time they feel like it.

Shit the guy's 22. But on the other hand I can understand that, extreme anxiety is nae good.Navas has an extreme case of anxiety, he can't be away from his family and home much time or else he gets sick.
How much do you pay for that? Is it worth it? If I got that would I basically be able to see every big game?QVT said:I've got the supersecretelite Setanta channel which shows the other half of american EPL games though.

Do you have GolTV too? They're usually in the same pack.
It's good stuff. Most full matches are English and South American though.Red Scarlet said:I just realized I have the Fox Soccer Channel. Is it any good or does it play old stuff a lot?
Er, shit.
Time Warner splits the two apart into different digital cable packages. FSC is in "general" and GolTV is in "sports".QVT said:Do you have GolTV too? They're usually in the same pack.
It used to be Fox Sports World and they'd show rugby and other things from time to time. Now it's Fox Soccer Channel and I think it's all soccer with some infomercials thrown in.Red Scarlet said:Don't think so, just FSC, which I thought was Fox Sport Center or something until about an hour ago.
