I hope he isn't bought as a right winger, because he sucks in that position. He's way too slow for that.
IMO, his best position is as a center or offensive midfielder, taking some of the duty from the defensive ones, distributing the ball and getting some shots outside of the box.

I think he's definitely being bought as a winger, Everton are well stocked in central midfield. Arteta, Cahill, Jagielka, Carsley, Neville, Pienaar...very little on the right.

It's not just HRW, it's Amnesty International too. Or are they 'epic lulz' too? It's your own choice where you want to care about it, but don't try and pretend he's not dubious person, at best.
I pretend he's not dubious as part of my joke persona. "Real" me just doesn't care. If you're a rich politician it's pretty much a given you've had your hands in some nasty business.

edit: AI isn't epic lulz, they're serious business. Everyone knows that!

Ok then, we understand eachother. ;)

Haha, Van Persie's pissed. And finally, Wenger brings in Eduardo.

I don't want to cause a ruckus, but has anyone heard of anything about Quaresma? He's being linked with Arsenal again. Doesn't seem the least bit truthful to me but just thought I'd check here to see if anyone knew anything about this yet.

His market value is about 15 million pounds right now. I don't think Wenger would drop that much cash on one player. It's just not his style these days.

Van Persie went off? I missed that.

Looks like its getting pretty heated, ugh.

No he didn't, it's Van Persie and Eduardo.

Edit: seems like Arsenal are up to their old tricks, not getting the ball in the net.:lol

:lol

They just had two excellent chances, Flamini fluffed one right next to goal as well. At least Eduardo (I think) got a shot on target.

0-0

Looks like it will stay that way too, Arsenal are getting the chances, but not converting them. It's just 'one of those' games. It's at the 80 minute mark now for me.

Edit: Another good chance not taken.

1-0. Clichy (I think) ran almost the length of the pitch after the defence strung together some nice passes to get him clear, then he passed it across goal to Persie who slotted it in.

Edit: Persie, after doing his goal scoring work now gets tackled and is being stretchered off. =(

YES! Van Persie is gonna inflict some damage this season (if he stays fit, which I'm confident he will). The kid is mean!

That would suck for arsenal if van persie was stretchered off due to a serious injury. He's been one of arsenals best players during pre-season.

I feel embarrassed that United were the only english club to lose to inter during their england tour :(

Ok, put my first bets down for the season. I have money on Derby being relegated, Derby finishing bottom, Chelsea to finish in the top 4, Man Utd to finish in the top 4, and on the opening weekend Man Utd to beat Reading, Chelsea to beat Birmingham and Arsenal to beat Fulham.

You have to be kidding me...

I F***ING JINXED HIM!!@!1211!!ONEONE!
:lol well velvet said that he was celebrating after the game, so it sounds like he will be alright.

That reminds me of last year when me and my brother were talking about hargreaves moving to united and he said that he hopes hargreaves will break his leg so that he doesnt get cup tied and we could use him in the CL if we bought him in January. When I went to check the football news, I read that hargreaves had broken his leg.

How much do you get for betting on chelsea and united finsihing in a top four position? Its certain that they will, so I cant imagine you get that much for placing a bet on that.

**** all. If you were betting £10 on each, you'd get £1 profit if Chelsea do it, 80p if United do. I wouldn't even bother if it was just a one off bet, but a whole bunch of these "surefire" bets throughout the season will probably add up to enough to be worth it.

BTW, if anyone wants to join Betfair, let me know. I'll refer you and it's beneficial to both of us, you'll get £20 credited to your account as soon as you've bet £20 (win or lose), and I'll get £20 once you reach 50 betfair points...don't really know how that works yet, I guess you just get points every time you bet.

What if you parlay bet? :lol

My girlfriend got me the Arsenal away kit for my birthday (which is tomorrow :D) and it's really nice. The strips of script writing really compliment the jersey.

It's one of the sweetest, classiest looking jerseys I've ever seen. I might end up buying two of 'em.

:lol Yeah, WTF man...you let England down!

Of course if you played 'em next week with Tevez in the lineup you'd probably waste 'em like 8-0.

Arsenal/Ajax match sure was vicious...that was a friendly? :lol I just hope Van Persie didn't suffer any short or long term damage.

Joe Hart AND Isaksson are injured.

Eriksson has said it's pretty much a must that they bring in a new keeper now, so no worries. They've been rumoured to be chasing Carson anyway, though I don't think Liverpool want to sell, and there's always Gordon from Hearts, though that could cost £10m. Or a bargain I've only half heard of from somewhere else around the globe again.

Also, as if we didn't already know, he's basically confirmed the player he's signing next is Bresciano, as he says he won't be at Wembley tomorrow because he has to meet a player, not necessarily Italian but maybe plays in the Italian league.

Good for Arsenal to get the win today even if the game left a little bit to be desired. I hope Van Persie is fine for next weekend against Full-ham.

Beckham reckons it'll take a miracle for him to play tomorrow. He can run in a straight line, but turning still gives him grief. He thinks he's seven to ten days from returning to the field.

So I guess Landon Donovan will be the one getting all the pink streamers tomorrow. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

You know the PrimaDonovan loves streamers, kittens with ribbons, pretty bows, and ponies. It's right up his alley....

The white one for me...when you see it up close you'll see why. I generally prefer to get a name and number on a jersey, but having a name and number on the jersey just ruins the look, particularly since they're gold coloured and just looks weird.

They wore the dark ones yesterday, and I'm not sold on them yet. But maybe an up close look like the white jersey would do the job.

We could have beaten them easily the other day, but our defence played like muppets. Our attack was great, its just the defending that let us down. It should be a good wake up call to the defenders.

Arsenal - Ajax was an awesome game, very exciting football. If anything it's the best condition I've seen an Arsenal side before the start of the season.

I'm starting to think that despite the popular opinion Gallas would actually make a very good captain. Despite what the fans think the players seem to have a lot of respect for him and seem to be friendly with him and he does have the ability to command people around the pitch. At the very least it isn't a bad option.

What the hell has happened to Sky Sports News? :lol

The graphics layout is better but the presenting room with the "staff" in the background is always a bad idea. Also, I swear they're using a piece of music from the Matrix movies as their new theme before/after adverts.

What's the return on that?

So is everyone going gaga over the white Arsenal kit or the stripey one? Cornballer am confused.
I really like both actually. Its better than the united kits. At first i liked the united kit, but Im not so fond of it now. Its way too plain. last years kit looked a lot nicer.

It seems like Ballack is really leaving Chelsea oô.
