ummm...havent chelsea already made 3 subs? Is there some rule in the community shield that allows you to make more than 3 subs?

AC Milan - Lokomotiv is a much more entertaining match than Chelsea - Man United. AC Milan just equalised to 3-3 in the last five minutes, after they were down 3-1.

Alright, penalties. Chelsea did much better second half, helped having a striker on the pitch. He didn't get too many chances, but I thought Pizarro looked quite good.

United still had the better chances tough. And I thought that should have been a penalty when Ben Haim shoved Vidic in the back.

Chelsea clearly seem to agree that United had the better chances - they've decided to let United win on straight goals in the penalties. :)

Edit: And they actually carry through - 3-0 to United on penalties. All three Chelsea attempts saved.

Well done van der sar!

Now lets wait for mourinho to say that he told his players to deliberately miss the penalties to make United think that they are better than chelsea.

I'm saying it a final time, for the record.

Selling Robben and keeping SWP is a monumental mistake.

I'm all for selling Ballack, however.

I didn't think mods could see this thread.

Lakitu, I'd delete what you posted on page 3 if I were you.

Stats is always the best way to judge a player.

Although his use of a plural noun with a singular verb is offensive, it isn't banning material.

Quite.

Chelsea have bought malouda to replace robben and from what I saw of malouda, he seems to be a good signing. If him and joe cole can stay fit, then they'll probably be the first choice wingers.

SWPs problem is that his delivery is poor and thats a concern for a winger. He's unbelievably quick and he's good at dribbling. He was causing a lot of problems for silvestre and evra, but whenever he goes past someone and gets into a good position to cross, he messes up his crosses.

Smith scored the winning goal for newcastle today. Its good to see that he got off to a good start straight away.

Moving to newcastle was a good move for him and for newcastle. With tevez coming to united, his appearances would have been limited. At newcastle he has a better chance of playing rgularly, but its still going to be tough for him to get a place in the team. newcastle have got quite a few strikers. They've got owen, martins, viduka, ameobi and carrol, so there's a lot of competition for places, but he's capable of getting a first team place.

Feyenoord vs. Liverpool will begin in 40 mins. Will be an interesting game as they are far tougher opposition and also it's our last pre-season game.

Tomorrow's our first leg match in the german DFB-Pokal. we're playing against Burghausen. And finally, next week the bundesliga is going to start. I'm pretty excited!

PSV - AC Milan 2-1 sofar, goals by Aissati, Zonneveld and Saviola. Still 30 minutes left to play.

I still don't have a clue what Benitez's firts choice line up is for the season, if he even has one. I'm pretty sure it'll be Torres and either Voronin or Kuyt up front, though I don't know which, Agger and Carragher at the back with Reina in goal, Riise left back until Arebeloa recovers (or he buys someone)...and that's about all I'm certain of. Gerrard's obviously a first choice, but I don't know where.

Liverpool are playing well so far, unlucky not to be up.

Yes, we beat Real Madrid 2-1 and have won the prestigious Russian Railway Tournament, after beating AC Milan in our first match (by penalties).

:D

That's a mesmerizing shot both camera-wise and football-wise.

Yeah it is, isn't it?

Feyenoord lead 1-0 against Liverpool, undeservingly so. Liverpool actually scored, but the referee didn't see it (bal bounced back). :lol

Argentine football is finally back with Boca Juniors vs. Rosario Central on FSC right now. It's not so bad being a football fan in America sometimes.

Well that was sad. No one know how to score a penalty over at Chelsea. And love when Lampard is considered a "specialist", the guy misses as many penalty as he scores.

And Wright Philips, aha lol wtf was that

Generally the friendlies I've seen this year have been quite friendly, but for some reason the two that weren't, at all, were Feyernoord - Liverpool and Ajax - Arsenal.

And here I thought the Dutch and English had good relations.

You mean Ajax - Arsenal. Please don't insult me. ;)

For our 2 Man City fans, SSN keeps showing this Bresciano goal:

He's not signed yet, but he should be tomorrow, and I have a feeling he might end up Eriksson's best buy.
*fap* *fap* *fap* *fap* *fap*

I know he isn't from this particular part of the country, but his new theme song is "South Australia". No arguments!

Also, speaking of City...

I watched the last 20 minutes - not too shabby. That kid Edu may be useful some day. What's up with Rob Stone pronouncing his name like Adu? Weird.

Anyone here follow Ligue 1 at all? Strasbourg got promoted and I'm curious as to whether or not they have a shot to stay in the top level.

after two very exhausting weeks of holiday I'm back to relax at work.

quite a few things happened in those two weeks including some really good pre season performances by Arsenal. Can't wait till the league starts this weekend.

It could be one of the most closely contended Premiership seasons in a long time, with 4 teams chasing. The start of the season will be vital, so I am quite nervous and hopeful we can translate the pre season form into the league.
