Ribery is the type of winger we need in Liverpool, someone who isn't terrified to shoot on goal and can beat people, unlike Pennant.

WTF!! Liverpool v Fulham on Setanta Football Focus highlights am cry. ;_;

Ribery is awesome, I expected Bolton to get Barcelona'd but Bayern all over seems meh except Ribery.

Schweinsenegger ain't no Ribery.

Fantastic save, fantastic move.

I have no idea why the Premiership teams didn't have the confidence in him to bid this summer, they seemed to think he was overpriced. i know I said it was a mistake, but then lots of people did. Just not the managers.

19th in the league, no Anelka, Diouf, Jaaskelainen, Speed, Campo, Meite, strong Bayern side...fantastic for Bolton, embarrassing for Bayern.

I want to die right now.

So damn embarrassing even though the second goal shouldn't have been allowed. Bayern was horrible tonight, almost losing to fucking Bolton.

Handball by Nolan, but you need to see it in slow motion from the right angle.

It's not the referee's fault. It's Bayern's fault for thinking the game was already over.

Everton are winning 2-0 with a few minutes left, Abichebe won a penalty which Arteta converted and he scored one himself just now. I really like him as a player, causes problems.

I'm surprised he hasn't had a call up to the Spanish squad yet.

You're going to force me to start talking about Irish League Football (Northern Ireland, always found it odd that our FA is the IFA (Irish Football Association) and the Republics is the FAI (Football Association of Ireland).

Of course I don't know anything about Irish Football, other than a guy I went to school with who was a total dick is now a striker for Linfield.
I know Derry plays in Ireland Ireland's league even though they're in Northern Ireland. Gotta love sectarianism.

Last time I was in the Mother Country it was around the time the IRA bombed a mall in Manchester... or they still hadn't rebuilt the place, I can't really remember too well. It was... an interesting experience. You never, ever see something like that where I'm from.

LA Galaxy name Gullit as new boss
Ruud Gullit
Gullit's last coaching job was at Feyenoord
Former Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit has been named as the new coach of Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy.

Former European Footballer of the Year Gullit succeeds Frank Yallop, who quit LA Galaxy to return to San Jose for a second stint as Earthquakes coach.

Galaxy captain David Beckham, who likely to be named in Steve McClaren's England team on Friday, is due to attend Gullit's unveiling the same day.

Gullit, 45, has also previously managed Newcastle and coached Feyenoord.

Yallop's departure came after a difficult season for the Galaxy as they failed to make the play-offs for a second consecutive year.

The team this season played under an extraordinary spotlight surrounding the mid-season signing of Beckham, who rarely played due to injury problems.

Los Angeles Galaxy appoint Gullit as coach

LOS ANGELES, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Former European Footballer of the Year Ruud Gullit has been appointed Frank Yallop's successor as coach of Los Angeles Galaxy.

The 45-year-old Dutchman, who previously coached Chelsea, Newcastle United and Feyenoord, will be introduced at a news conference at the Home Depot Center on Friday, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club said in a statement on Thursday.

The appointment of Gullit gives the club the highest-profile coach in MLS as well as the highest-profile player in former England captain David Beckham, who joined the club in July on a five-year deal.

Gullit has been offered a three-year contract, according to local media.

European Footballer of the Year in 1987, the flamboyant dreadlocked Dutchman epitomised the ethos of 'total football' with his all-round skills in several positions.

He joined AC Milan in 1987 for a then-world record £6million and, with compatriots Frank Rijkaard and Marco van Basten, helped the Italian club win the European Cup in 1989 and 1990.

Gullit played for Sampdoria and Chelsea late in his career before coaching Chelsea, Newcastle United and Feyenoord. He has been working as a television soccer analyst since 2006.

He coined the term 'sexy football' while commentating for the BBC during the 1996 European Championship in England.

On Monday, Galaxy president and general manager Alexi Lalas told reporters his club were looking for a 'sexy' coach.

'We would certainly look to use this opportunity to bring in somebody who is going to have an impact on the Galaxy but also on the league and the sport in many of the same ways that David Beckham did,' Lalas said.

The Galaxy released Yallop from his contract on Monday, allowing the former Canada international to take charge of the San Jose Earthquakes.

Under Yallop, the Galaxy failed to reach the playoffs for the last two seasons.
If you think I'm sexy
and you'll coach the Galaxy
Come on sugar let me know.
