Bale blow for Spurs
Tottenham's battered defence suffered another blow last night when Gareth Bale was ruled out for three months with an ankle injury.
And boss Juande Ramos could be forced into the transfer market to reinforce his depleted left flank.
Bale suffered a ligament sprain in his right ankle during last week's defeat to Birmingham. Sporting director Damien Comolli said: "Even if the examination reveals his foot is stable, the decision has been taken to bring him back slowly to ensure he does not get a repeat of the injury or suffers any further damage.
"Gareth is disappointed to be sidelined for this length of time but he is still young and we have to do what is best for him in the long-run."

article in German about the attendances is Serie A.Minusrekord bei Zuschauern in der italienischen Serie A

Trust me man, I'm sure you guys will be fine considering your roster. The more I thought about it the more I felt that Osorio made some really costly in -game decisions. I'm not saying I hate the fact that he's coming here, but I don't see a drastic improvement either. After all, Reyna is staying for another year and he's not even taking a pay cut.Outdoor Miner said:I've seen the list of possible candidates right now. It's terribly depressing.
I guess Chicago just doesn't have the allure and glamor of an LA or NY to compel any worthwhile high-profile manager to sign with us.
Osorio said:Damn. Those attendances are comparable to the American second division attendances.
Well I was talking about the 3 attendance numbers rather than just the 786. But when you put it that way, it does make those attendance numbers even worse no?QVT said:You mean USL-1 or USL-2? Because USL-1 gets more than 800 people. It averages 4,700 per match. Even the second division averages 1,600 per match.

I saw Blackburn linked with a £15m bid for Anelka earlier. Yeah, we have £15m to spend on another striker.
Relegation will never work in America. None of the owners would comply with it.Zapages said:What the MSL needs to drop teams if they finish last... It'll bring more competition to the sport and join it with the USL... Plus USL teams will be able to progress up to MSL and vice versa... It'll bring diversity to the sport...
What's everyone's opinion on MISL. (Major Indoor Soccer League).
Osorio said:Relegation will never work in America. None of the owners would comply with it.
As for the MISL I'm going to the Ironmen game on the 21st. Apparently the GM liked ESC's presence for the inaugural game so he's having a supporter's night or something.
Well I'd say the USL would have to be restructured. For instance, how would it look when the Galaxy get relegated and the Charleston Battery get promoted? That's just not economically viable. You have to remember that MLS has not made profit in any year of its history. The current plan is to get teams in soccer specific stadium so they can control their own revenue so that they can recover the losses that have come the last 12 years. Maybe in the future when it's economically viable to keep a team in the 2nd division would there be relegation but that's a long way away.Zapages said:It would be more fun for the fanbase and letting soccer grow naturally in US... Can't the MLS board force it upon the owners like in Europe... Then we'll have teams from USL coming up and challenging the MLS teams... Those teams will able to get more money and MLS will be the lucrative league to play soccer in the USA.....
Chivas gave their DP spot to us for Amado Guevara.QVT said:Yeah I agree Toronto will bring a lot to the league. Hopefully with the designated player thing Chivas can get a big name who isn't so fucking old. It's kind of amazing that Freddie Eastwood cost Wolves more than any DP other than Beckham costs.
Osorio said:Chivas gave their DP spot to us for Amado Guevara.
You will see Jens Lehmann in goal tomorrow, said the Frenchman at Tuesdays pre-match press conference. This was decided three weeks ago so it is independent of anything else.
Wenger described the attitude of the 38-year-old as fantastic during his absence. This man is super-professional and an example for everybody, he added.
