What country has the best fans?

I think Germany or Sweden. They asked it on FFF which I'm just now watching.

Blackburn are reportedly interested in Valeri Domovchiyski, a 21 year old Levski Sofia striker.

Now I know it's only the Bulgarian league, but according to wikipedia he scored 34 goals in 21 games for Maritsa Plovdiv (a second division club, but where Stoichkov started) and 60 in 65 for Sofia. He's also scored 4 in 7 in the CL and 7 in 12 in the UEFA Cup, so it sounds like he could play at a higher level.

He's 6' 2 and once ran the 100 metres in 9.98 seconds, which is ridiculous. So I hope it's true, could do with someone with pace to play alongside Santa Cruz.

Breaking News

Fulham have announced that manager Lawrie Sanchez has left the club with immediate effect.

"Ray Lewington and Billy McKinlay will be in charge of the team whilst a search for a permanent replacement takes place," said a club statement.

Sanchez's departure comes just a day after John Collins' sudden resignation as Hibernian boss.

The ex-Fulham and Scotland midfielder's exit sparked a flurry of rumours that he may return to Craven Cottage.

Is that 10 in the Premiership this year now?

O...kay.

Strange, it's almost like they shouldn't have fired the man who lead them to good Premiership finishes season after season up as his best players were sold with no resulting gain in the transfer market, and just had a bad last year.

Prediction time GAF! Choose the draws for the British teams in the Champions League:

Here are the possible permutations:

ARSENAL: AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Porto or Real Madrid.
CELTIC: Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Porto, Real Madrid or Sevilla.
CHELSEA: Celtic, Fenerbahce, Lyon, Olympiakos or Roma.
LIVERPOOL: AC Milan, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid or Sevilla.
MANCHESTER UNITED: Celtic, Fenerbahce, Lyon, Olympiakos or Schalke.

I'm going with:

Arsenal v Barcelona
Celtic v Sevilla
Chelsea v Roma
Liverpool v Real Madrid
Man Utd v Lyon

I had Sanzhez pegged as the first managerial casualtie of the Premiership this season, so it was with great shock that Mourinho somehow pipped him to the post. I'm not surprised this has happened, Sanzhez always seemed like one of those managers who could thrive in the Championship but wouldn't cut it in the PL (hai mick mccarthy).

Lord only knows why they sacked Chris Coleman in the first place, the man kept them in the premiership on a shoestring budget, whilst all the top players were sold to finance Al Fayed's cash problem and continued murder trial against the Duke of Edinburgh. Based on Fulham's home record the past few seasons they were UEFA cup contenders, unfortunately they didn't travel well. But perhaps I'm just biased as I like seeing Welsh managers in the top flight, given the lack of players there!

John Collins to Fulham I guess, and that's a much better appointment.

Next to board the merry-go-round... barring any unforeseen arguments between chairman and manager (hai rafa), Gareth Southgate is going to run out of luck sooner or later.

Lots of media peopel say he is unlikely to go anytime soon due to the fack the 'Boro chairman likes sticking with his managers through thick and thin. Shame there's not more of these people in charge of clubs in Britain.

Fixtures so far:

Celtic v Barcelona
Lyon v Man Utd - Called It!
Schalke v Porto
Liverpool v Inter Milan - !!!!!!

Aye, Steve Gibson endured Steve McClaren for all those years, no reason why Southgate won't last as long. I get the impression that as long Middlesbrough stay in the PL its a case of "Job Done", but for all the money that Middlesbrough have paid out over the years on players, not to mention the dwindling crowds at Riverside, I can't help but feel they should set their sights a little higher up the premiership. I don't know how much McClaren spent over the years, but that was one expensive Carling Cup.

As for the managerial merry-go-round, I was shocked at that list above. I'd completely forgotten most of those clubs had fired their managers. When I tried to draw up a list in my head all I could think of Mourinho and Sammy Lee... It'd be nice if it was a Premier League only thing, but I think the Championship is even worse, I think Dave Jones is the second longest reigning manager at 2.5 years, which is just scary.

yay, against Schalke...back to Arena AufShalke in Genselkirchen, where we won the final in 2004 :D Liverpool-Inter and Arsenal-Milan should provides us with some great matches.

I don't care about the Chelsea match, but two of these fixtures:

Lyon v Man Utd
Liverpool v Inter
Arsenal v Milan

will be on at the same time. How am I supposed to decide between them?

Milan can't handle Arsenal's pace, nor a passing side even better than them.

There are some tasty fixtures. Liverpool vs Inter should be good. Its going to be close, but I think Inter will go through.

Arsenal vs Milan should be pretty good too. I reckon arsenal will go through in that match (sorry yazan).

The match may not be on for 6 weeks but the mud throwing has started already!
