I like his beard, same with Upson. There aren't enough beards in football.

Deserved lead, and I'm particularly glad it was Mellberg who scored with some dreadful marking on him from Dawson, who's been a cunt this whole game.

Melbeard :lol

Good win for Arsenal today. Two very well taken goals. Look like they've gotten their passing mojo back.

US callups for the January camp. We play Sweden on January 19th and Mexico in early February. No Euros for the Sweden game, but the Mexico matchup is on an international date so a few of them should be able to make it.

Should I remove the two games where they conceded 4 goals then? They have a decent defence then. They scored more goals than anyone else over 20 games, there's no need to mess with it.

They scored 11 goals in two games and you're not telling me that doesn't throw the statistics out? Of course it does and even if you remove their four conceded they wouldn't have a decent defence at all, they'd still be worse than Birmingham who are below them (with Birmingham played more games too)

How dare you keep him out, just look at that beard, it demands a starting spot.

well up until today he had been pretty quiet. Plus I figured with Tottenham's goal scoring capabilities, my best bet would be to leave him out. I was wrong. lol.

Another good day for my fantasy team. 66 points, and Richards plays tomorrow. Shouldn't be long before I break the top 3. Hadareud soon to be disposed of.

Btw how we all doing in the fantasy cup? 3rd round was today/tomorrow. Theres a distinct possibility I'll go out tomorrow :(

Hang on a minute, Richards got automatically substituted out... but Man City play tomorrow. Whats going on?

I was just thinking. If Chelsea want cover and don't want to spend too much they should buy back Eidur in January. Would be a smart move tbh. Of course whether he'd be willing is another matter entirely

I know we're too manly for this but... what happened to Kevin in Eastenders, caught the last 3 minutes and he looked a little... dead, say it ain't so I liked him. :(

Liverpool linked to a left winger yet? (V_V)

What a way to enter the new year.
This is a great story. I hope it all works out for you because it needs to be retold as often as possible.

:lol hating Italy makes me "racist"? I'm fucking French, what do you expect? If it helps, I hate UCLA (much) more than I hate Italy and it doesn't seem to bother Kara.
Actually if you're French I think you're supposed to hate everyone. (I'm thinking of the stereotypical Parisian.)

The only UCLA haters that bother me are stupid cunt girls that know absolutely nothing about the sport. When I was in Vegas for last New Year I got 0 shit from "real" SC fans because... well... you know why. Needless to say girls don't get the memo that you can't talk shit when you choke away a national championship game, as well as tying the record for consecutive wins in the rivalry.

I've noticed lots of you talking about CoD4 hear. Been playing a lot of TF2 recently after I realised how brilliant it is, but I'm thinking of getting CoD4 for my PC as well since I absolutely loved CoD1. How does it compare to the original?

I only ask here because those guys in the gaming section are living on a another planet.
It's definitely dethroned 2 as my favorite in the series. It really does a good job of straddling the line betwixt keeping Call of Duty fundamentals and bringing new stuff to the table. Definitely worth a buy.

If Jonas Gutierrez is on his way to Manchester City... cool? I guess? It's the Spider-man dude.

I wonder how Mr Saviola would be in the Premier League.

I heard that £1.7 billion in TV revenue was awarded to clubs in December, is this the truth?
Seems like Sven's summer buyings were loaned on upcoming TV revenue, so I guess City won't have that much to spend, at least compared to some other clubs without debts.
He's a winger... need one of those.

As for money I thought most of the summer signings were just paid for in layaway. Would kinda suck if a loan was taken against the TV money... hurry up and free Frank's stolen millions Thai government!!!

It seems that both you and I are waiting for something to happen. I press F5 the whole time and hopping to see Quaresma, Mourinho, Drogba and a new keeper holding a Milan-shirt.

I don't have anything to do, Serie A doesn't start before 13/1, I need to find an apartment in a city that lies over 600km from were I live in less than 10 days and I am ill and fucking bored as hell. And there are some other problems as well:( :(

MLS rumor du jour. Figo to either LA Galaxy or Houston for $10.2 million for a 2 year deal. Pretty dodgy source, so it probably won't happen.

True. And I don't even celebrate it.

I'm sure you'll be fine, the sky was falling for me a couple of months ago when my girlfriend dumped me, tomorrow is a new day and that's positive coming from a Liverpool fan who has to deal with tons of people badmouthing my beautiful team on here :<

Also you have Kaka. And Pato. Damn you. But yes you do need a new manager.

Girls man.

Can't live with 'em.

Can't live without 'em.

Exactly.

There is one real beautiful girl that I worked with that I am thinking about calling (gone a week now since I left the job) but I don't even know what to say to her.

And I found her in the same time that I am going to move out:(

Phone her man, what you got to lose?

My motto is that I'll always phone the girl / make the move on the girl if there's a chance I won't see them again, because even if I make an arse out of myself, I won't have to see them again.

I'm too self concious to do that :( although I'm still kicking myself for not asking this girl out, stupid stupid idiot I was friends with her and everything.

Stupid stupid damn idiot cockhead bastard.

I had nightmares all morning while half-drunk, half-asleep that were girl-related, so hey it could be worse Yazan.

So was I on the 30th, I was drunk and sick from too much alcohol, throwing up in the bowl next to me and having weird and surreal dreams of my ex...

Stop calling Hadareud names.

But yes, there are times when things just go away just like that when you know you made the wrong decision, I know that all too well :(

This situation was slightly worse than an ex. (Not to diminish your grief though, that shit's tough, especially at the holidays.)

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Big set of stats from the Telegraph. A lot more than are listed below via the link.

Telegraph said:
-There have been five hat-tricks, two more than in the whole of 2006-07.
-There have been exactly 50 away wins.
-There have been 13 goalless draws, five of them coming in Portsmouth home games.
-Cristiano Ronaldo has hit 50 shots, more than any other player.
-No player has been denied by the woodwork more often than Steven Gerrard, three times.
-On their way to the title last season Manchester United won all 12 of their North-West derby games. This season they have won five and lost two.
-Ronaldo has scored 11 Premier League braces in his career including three last December and two so far this month. He has never scored a hat-trick.
-All seven of John Carew’s league goals for Aston Villa have come before half-time.
-Everton and Aston Villa have both scored 16 times from crosses, more than any other team in the division.
-Manchester United have scored seven goals from corners – a league high.
-Everton have scored 26 goals from open play, more than any other team.
-Tottenham have conceded six goals from opposition indirect free-kick routines, more than any other.
-Villa's defending has been tigerish, they have the player who has made the most tackles (Nigel Reo-Coker – 92) and the player who has completed the most defensive clearances (Martin Laursen – 390).
-Newcastle's Alan Smith has conceded the most fouls, 56.
-Everton's Mikel Arteta is the most fouled player in the league, 60 times.
-Emmanuel Adebayor has been caught offside most often – 39 times.
-Blackburn's Ryan Nelsen is the only player who has been sent off twice.
