I still don't get why they didn't just make a new game. They could've taken that 2.5D version, made new level designs, new bosses, called it Rondo 2 or something.
The only difference in budget/effort between porting Rondo in 2.5D and a new game in 2.5D is someone would have to design the game...
Then everyone would buy it instead of half the people blowing it off because it's a remake.

Castlevania looks surprisingly very good! If you'd of asked me before the thread/video what I'd of thought about a 2.5d CV on PSP, I'd of been largely indifferent.

But then again, SotN probably doesn't have the Saturn extras, and still might end up as a bad port (the worst of both worlds). And the new localization might stink. Or retcon stuff.

Dewy looks promising, both gameplay-wise & graphically, even if it is right on the edge of how sickly-sweet I can take my games 
The Drac X announcement is a bit of a surprise, in spite of the clumping great hints that everyone has been dropping for the past wee while. Going beyond the question of whether it will be a nice addition to the PSP library - and with what's promised, it certainly will - I'm surprised that it got the go-ahead given the "success" of previous 3D remakes on the platform. Perhaps the relative obscurity of the remake, plus the inclusion of the two original games, will make it more saleable, but it seems like a gamble for a series with such niche appeal given what happened with UG&G and Irregular Hunter X.

Two new announcements and probably some crappy licensed announcements to go with that. Hellboy, well it's just "an exclusive first look" - so not only is the game uninteresting but Gamespot didn't even get a new announcement.

Man, the Castlevania PSP release is amazing -- but for the original games included with it alone. The remake looks awful and has the worst remixes of the tracks that I can honestly imagine. Richter's pants are ridiculous. I'm buying the game, but I can't say that I think a lot of work went into this.

That said, 100% perfect+ originals of that and SotN, and they have my money. New, nonimproved version will be neglected like all hell.
