unifin said:Just finished 7th dungeon. SO AWESOME, including the boss fight, but the boss could have been so much more challenging.
He's a freaking huge dragon, but he doesn't dive-bomb me at all? I'm a sitting duck on a pole and he takes ten seconds to "warm up" his fire breath which only does 1 heart of damage/prevents any damage from falling? If that attack animation had been just 1 second shorter, I would've been happy...

unifin said:The 2D bosses in general, I think, were a bit harder, simply because you didn't have as many dodging options... Also, the boss chamber:boss size ratio was approaching 1:1 in some cases, whereas in the 3D Zelda games there's always a ton of room to manuever around.
KoffiiKat said:If only some bosses were as hard as the, I'd have been extatic. In general I find that the bosses (and most other enemies) need to do considerably more damage. I have bottles full of potions, make me use them. Defeating everything on the first try takes away the sense of accomplishment.snowboarding mini-game
This is my only gripe with the game really. It needs a Hard Mode - or at least, the dungeons do (think WoW: Burning Crusade's Heroic Mode, for instance - something like that would put me in a coma of joy).
EDIT: That's not to say the boss battles aren't enjoyable. They are. It's just that in cases like, for instance, the comparison with the awesomeness of the same boss with appropriate difficulty is unavoidable.the spider boss in the Temple of Time

jepense said:OOT's bosses were really easy, MM's were much more difficult (well, Gyorg the fish mainly).
Some of the minibosses in TP were actually somewhat challenging the first time, imo.

While I agree that this particular miniboss was quite hard I thought the final boss was easy. Overall the bosses were too easy, which is a pitty bc pretty much all of them involved some neat ideas.Gryphter said:ball and chain miniboss was actually pretty hard. he was probably the only enemy in the game that posed any threat, other than the final boss
don't get me wrong though, the boss battles are tons of fun. I wish there was a boss rush mode so you could fight them again
tanasten said:Not only the bosses are easy, but the whole game. I only had some trouble at the firts stages of the game, because the limited amount of heart containers.
The bosses looks cool but play cheesy. I really demand a harder version of the game. I can't understand why they don't do the game more compelling instead of a easy walkthrought, it hurts my sense of what gaming is.
Also, I demand a version of the game with a camera almost over the shoulder. I spent hours of play just walking with the grappling hook and turning around the view like RE4 camera's... and the game looked hundreds time better with this camera!
BTW, how it's supossed we are gona find all those wraiths? there's a lot of those ghosts are and not a single help finding them...

Phantom Ganon was hard because of the crappy aiming in OoT. Would be a breeze with the Wii controller, I think.gamergirly said:Phantom Ganon, Iron Knuckles, and Ganondorf disagree with this.
Xrenity said:Phantom Ganon was hard because of the crappy aiming in OoT. Would be a breeze with the Wii controller, I think.
Ganondorf wasn't that hard either. I played through OoT a while ago and I just side-jumped around him or rolled underneath him and attacked his tail. And in the last part, I owned him a couple of times, without him dying. Switched to Master Sword (instead of Biggoron) and finished him with one hit.
I'm sure it would even be easier if I did the whole fight with the Master Sword.
I think the bosses you mentioned were easy. The only boss in OOT that managed to pose a threat on my first play through was the Bongo shadow boss. But I guess all bosses in Zelda games are easy if you quickly discover the way to beat them.gamergirly said:Phantom Ganon, Iron Knuckles, and Ganondorf disagree with this. Maybe it was the combination of how much damage some bosses took, but OOT's Bosses were definitely NOT easy.
I don't know how it is in the GC version, but since there is no counter system as in WW there really is no reason not to have the shield up when you are not attacking.Magicpaint said:Another thing that makes TP on wii so easy in the way of combat is the auto shield when you lock on to an enemy.

Now whenever I beat up a chicken, just enough, I turn into it. WTF?
Did nintendo feel guilty about chicken abuse? Or am I missing something?
tanasten said:I don-t know. I feel like someone at Nintendo bastardized the game with this. Anyone find use to the drive the cucco thing?

Perhaps Midna existed but didn't ride on Link's back or maybe the story was more of a traditional Zelda kidnapped/save hyrule/kill ganondorf again kinda thing...

I wouldn't say best, but pretty far up the list. Well, then again, you might be right.tanasten said:But thats flying a cucco, not controlling a cucco after hit him, no?
I don't know, but for sure, Midna is the best Nintendo character ever.
Phantom Ganon only gave me slight problems. Mainly with aiming and timing the orb tennis.gamergirly said:Phantom Ganon, Iron Knuckles, and Ganondorf disagree with this. Maybe it was the combination of how much damage some bosses took, but OOT's Bosses were definitely NOT easy.
