This kind of confirms the different setting for the Raiden vs. Vamp fight, and probably some other surprises.
 
Quick question about the MGS Collection

So it includes the following

・METAL GEAR [PS2]
・METAL GEAR 2 SOLID SNAKE [PS2]
・METAL GEAR SOLID [PS]
・METAL GEAR SOLID 2 SONS OF LIBERTY [PS2]
・THE DOCUMENT OF METAL GEAR SOLID 2 [PS2]
・METAL GEAR SOLID 3 SNAKE EATER [PS2]
・METAL GEAR SOLID PORTABLE OPS [PSP]
・METAL GEAR SAGA [DVD]

I was wondering... since Ryan Payton confirmed that MGS3 is indeed the Subsistance edition, will it come with the second disc which included MGOnline? Besides, that second disc also included both the original MSX games, but they seem to be on a dedicated disc in this collection. Can anyone confirm MGS3: Subsistance will be just the first disc with the main game?

Yeah, but it wouldnt make any sense to release the MSX games on a separete disc if they include the 2nd Subsistance disc as well (which already comes with those two MSX games).

For you good sir, I tried out the Snake Eater disc from the 20th anniversary collection & it is indeed Subsistence.

If you read the page, the author said he didn't care one way or the other. He said he was content on playing the game on the platform it was designed for (PS3). He was just passing on a "rumor" he heard.

after reading it, yeah, he does say that, I jumped to conclusions because Kotaku is the site that always has the 360 MGS4 headlines.

Yeh it's obvious he doesn't care.

I mean, it's not like he was writing/reporting rumours about MGS4 on the 360 every 2/3 weeks.
Oh, wait a minute...


Hmm and after reading it, going from "yeah we could make the franchise multiplat" to "MGS4 on 360 ?!?! zomglol" seems like a bit of a stretch :P
Konami could very well release Metal Gears Solid Training on the Wii, that would still make this quote true.

Gotta remind you of those trolls who use the "I'm interested in console bran Z BUT" flame-shield.

We know that they are trolls because of their posting history just like Kotaku got a past of "MGS4 going to 360, PS3 doomed" spiced with "An insider told us over MSN that PS3 CELL has been downgraded from 3.5GHz to... what was it, 2.3GHz?".

And had the "I don't care" claim really been true then why did 'franchise' have to be twisted into 'MGS4'? Why not just bring the straight quote without added spin.

It's free to write "I'll play it on PS3", and usually used by people who try to make their message seem more legit than deserved.

This is a boring debate but it hurts each time because saying MGS4 is going multi platform is like saying Kojima was full of BS when he talked about his visions, keep in mind that Kojima is no EA PR guy.

Depends on the director, the post Kojima games can still be good just not Kojima weird good.

I personally hope for a previous ZOE2 director to take over.

PD: There was something that came out prior to (the Sony E3 keynote) announcement. Our folks have talked to the Konami folks, and until the announcement was out from our side, I think they were being a little bit cagey. But the agreement calls for exclusivity, the announcement's been made, and now people know the real story.

Its exclusive folks, let it go. If you really enjoy the Metal Gears then you must have bought a Playstation system. Unless of course you played Twin Snakes on the Gamecube and Substance on the Xbox:lol
 
basically all the news says is that, if the franchise continues, they're open to putting Metal Gear Solid 5 on 360. That's all it means.
 
TGS is going to be epic. Playable MGS4 + Team ICO's new game + playable WKS. If they put the MGS4 demo on PSN...I'll buy PS3's for all my friends so they can play it
 
The unconfirmed kotaku report thread was locked. That doesn't mean that this thread acts as a proxy for it.

For all we know MGS4 could end up on 360. Soon after, long after, or never. Or MGO could be multiplatform. Or the next kojima-less Metal Gear title could be. It is all worthless until we actually hear SOMETHING beyond speculation, vague kotaku reports, or whatever.

Anyway...

I'm really excited about Metal Gear Online. I like the fact that it's very team focused, and I hope there are steps taken to eliminate problems with griefers and such. I also hope that there's still a mode where you have to find and capture Snake :)
 
Does anyone know where I can get HD versions of all the MGS4 trailers up to now, in a PS3-compatible format? I have E3 2007 and the gameplay demo, but I'd especially love to have the ''remastered'' E3 2006 video and TGS 2006.
 
i Just had i thought on MGS3 multiplayer

why dont Sony and Konami release MGS3 Multiplayer HD digitally through the playstation network, it has work well with Tekken 5 HD it seems like a perfect idea that I think Sony & Konami didnt think through to well. servers been cut off on mgs3 was 2 premature, Konami has a potenially big hit on psn or even xbl on its hands the work has already been done.

as a MGS fan i am dumb struck that i missed out on the whole mgs3 online experience.

MGO is releasing before MGS4 seemingly and that game releases in spring so there's no point releasing MGS3 HD. MGO could even be a 07 surprise release at this rate.
 
MGO 2007 :p lets hope it will be on top of the list no doubt.

i think that konami has alot money to make on this even if they could get an exclusive deal on the xbox 360. which then would pull more ps3 owners towards owning 360, i find that alot of MGS3 and MGS fans in general all put a miss on the multiplayer for some reason (including me)

eh, they already announced in for ps3, not for 360 yet. Isnt that a bit a stretch??
