I play Halo for the story too.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what Retro makes next.

I also hope Nintendo keeps them around long enough to make a Metroid for the next
Virtual Reality
Nintendo console.

I think Retro is a permanent fixture in Nintendo.

If ever Nintendo let Retro loose, I might quit them. That's how highly I think of thier games. The Metroid games got me through the GCN era feeling satisfied. Metroid Prime is probably my favorite game of that generation, and quite possible my favorite game of all time.

oh HELL yea. the next Nintendo console even if, God forbid, is only
two Wiis duck taped together
...should be able to handle the kind of graphical quality that we saw in that Metroid rendered clip from Spaceworld 2000... which had that high-poly Samus model, per-pixel lighting, AA, true motion blur as Samus ran towards the camera, etc.

'course the next Metroid won't be Metroid Prime, since Prime has completed its run now. perhaps a more fully 3rd-person Metroid game? :)

Uh Oh, Gametrailers gave Bioshock a 9.5!

awaits meltdown.

I'm kind of glad Prime 3 was delayed in PAL territories, otherwise I wouldn't have the time to enjoy it.

I hate these types of comments. You do not have to buy it the day it gets out.

Does the IGN video review contains spoilers?
yeah it does also the gametrailers one

anybody notice that guy in the gametrailers review is moving alot slower than the ign guys
it must be because ign is using the advanced control option

This makes the wait for the game in Europe even longer, Super Paper Mario sounds uninteresting after seeing the reviews for this game.

fps makers are tech whores. its no surprise the wii doesn't see more good fps's. i'm sure even retro secretly desires to make games elsewhere

well, some years ago i also thought fps makers were all about mouse/keyboard. but people bought more and more consoles and so the switched and nowadays even some "hardcore" players find it acceptable to play an fps with a dual analog control.
so if Wii continues to do so well, maybe some fps makers will switch to inferior hardware as well (they already switched to inferior controls).

IGN has loads of videos up, the game looks stunning!

Not sure about watching the video reviews, though I don't think I'll be able to resist.

Here's an extract from the Nintendo Power review if you want to add it:
http://www.infendo.com/wii/nintendo-power-calls-metroid-3-incorruptible/
Since its introduction, gamers have seen great potential in the Wii remote as a natural controller for first-person action games. But while several titles have pulled off the method adequately, Corruption is the first that doesn’t leave any room for you to consider whether it would be better with a traditional controller…. the system works impeccably… this is the title that gamers have been waiting for.

maybe i am naive but i think a ps3 is more powerful than current high end pcs

Oh FFS! Retro Studios ARE Nintendo, they are a 1st Party! They are just as much a part of Nintendo as EAD and Intelligent Systems!

BTW Monolith Soft are also a 1st Party, not a 2nd (This one in particular pisses me off since they're listed as a 2nd Party on their Wiki which is completely wrong) and HAL Laboratory are a 2nd Party (But they're so interwoven within Nintendo, that they're practically a 1st party)

Great review and very well written, can't wait! Bioshock is nice and all, but MP3 is the real main course :D

Oh and I can't freaking wait to see what Retro Studios make next. I hope they make an original IP, Raven Blade perhaps :D

Dont forget the 5 hours part.

Here's another one that got me hot, courtesy of Game Trailers: "You will never want to play a shooter with dual analog sticks ever again."

Edit: Somebody already beat me to it.

I already kind of had that feeling, but good to hear nontheless. Makes you wonder if 2008 will be a great fps year for Wii since developers will copy.

Oh, 1up:
Amazing as it is to say about a Wii game, Corruption contains some of the best visuals in gaming, period.

You're gonna get the fanboys riled up with that one! Shit, how many days until we can play this game?! *impatient*

Hmm I have MP and never really got into it, these are very impressive reviews though so I'll give MP3 a look. It'll be good to have the Wii hooked up again

Hi sp0rsk. I saw my unused banner this morning over my cup of celebrity coffee and a little bit of my acting talent died inside of me.

I'm working on writing our theme song. I might sing it and put it as the title music for my game.

real high-end pcs have more power but the average pc is of course less powerful than a ps3. (but i wasn't talking about pc hardware power.)

So basically Bully and Jade Empire are better then Prime... * cancels pre order *

Yeah, I'm sure you had this one pre-ordered (why do we not have a rolleyes icon?)

Anyway, after reading the ShackNews review, this quote jumped out at me (for the purests who were complaining about its opening):
There is more exposition than in any other Prime game--delivered mainly via cutscenes at the beginning of the game, and transmission voiceover during the rest--but Retro deftly retains the haunting sense of isolation the series has always exuded.

Gamespot review is the one that counts most for me. I've alwasy found their reviews to be the most reliable, except their MGS3 review.

I wasn't particularly hyped for this game, but after watching the GT review, WOW OMFG DAY ONE.

But damn it ain't coming out til October here - any chance of this being region free?

Good reviews. Some daring quotes in some of them (like "You will never want to play a shooter with dual analog sticks ever again."). Retro delivered and I can't wait to play this (in october :()

Can't say i was looking forward to this game that much, but that video totally sold me on it. Some of those areas look stunning.
Yeah, that review is very convincing..... I was planning to wait on MP3, but now I'm not so sure.
