i don't think Boozer did anything wrong either. The Cavs were just trying to be cheap by signing him to a smaller deal than had they let him become restricted. Business is business. If Boozer had blown out his knee that season would the Cavs have still kept their end of the bargain?

Shit, they kept Big Z around...

No it isn't hypocritical, it is a fan being a fan. You guys know the word fan comes from the word 'fanatic', right? That doesn't really foster common sense.

I like Boozer, obviously I might hate him if it were the other way around. But then again maybe I wouldn't. I still like Fisher, after all.

I am not an asshole Jazz fan, as someone once indirectly called me on this board. I would like to think of myself as somewhat reasonable...

thats different than making up reasons to dislike a player. If you dislike Fisher because he's on a rival team now thats fine, but you don't have to come up with BS excuses to try and justify it.

That'd be like me hating on JR Smith because he didn't honor his commitment to come to UNC and help us repeat...

:(

Mike D'Antoni may already be hatching plans to transform the Knicks.

The new coach in New York wants to trade point guard Stephon Marbury as one of his first acts on the job, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

The report, citing "a person close to D'Antoni," said the coach would ideally like to ship Marbury to the Suns in an effort to bring some of his old players to New York.

Marbury is owed $22 million in the final year of his contract next season. That impending cap relief could be a huge asset to teams looking to make a splash in the loaded free agency markets on the horizon. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are among the superstar names that could be available in the near future.

Could Kerr be that stupid?? hahah Commish is on suicide watch... Starbury, Nash, Shaq, Amare... all D all the time

I know. I am in agreement with you. I like Fisher. I believe his actions to be honest and even if they weren't, I don't really care. I also like Boozer, and his actions were not really honest, but they worked in his and my team's favor, so I'll let him pass. :P

i heard that on ESPN just a few hours ago. Supposedly he wants to send Marbury to PHX for Diaw and Barbosa. If they did it'd be strictly a cap move. Marbury's contract ends this year and PHX will get to unload Diaw and Barbosa's deals (have they extended Barbosa yet?) so they only have Nash, Amare and Shaq as big contracts on the books. PHX ownership is even more cheap and pathetic than Donald Sterling.

but having Nash and Marbury on the same team?? :lol

I assume Marbury would play 2G?

Still... :lol

Although, it is a contract year. My friend from NY who's a Knick fan, tried to convince me that Marbury will have an All-Star year as a reserve because it's a contract year and he needs to get paid.

Hornets fans are classier. :lol

Oh, and take a look at this vid. NBA Refs are just terrible...getting to the FT line for bumping into your own teammate. :lol

Oh come on you have to give credit for creativity, can't believe I missed that! By chance was that the two foul shots he missed in the fourth? If so that guy needs to be there if we have a game 7.

edit: but holy shit at that video thats daylight robbery.

and btw Sheed is pretty much the most under rated defensive player in the NBA today..

You can put four of the Detroit's five starters on that list. Which is ironic, considering Ben Wallace was probably overrated in his prime as a defender.

Josh Smith and Chris Paul got more votes than Tayshaun or Sheed.

Hell, Smith got more votes than Sheed and Tayshaun combined.

Tayshaun is the only defender to ever shut down Kobe for an entire playoff series (aside from Game 2, and Kobe has had good games against Prince since then, but the 2004 Finals were brutal). He and Battier defend Kobe better than anyone else in the league by far.

A loss like yesterday's makes me think the Spurs should just be put out of their misery and retool with the young kids waiting on the wings for a chance to win again next year. Zero toughness, lack of motivation and focus. The only word that fits is pathetic and it all starts with Tim's poor showing.

I simply can't comprehend how a team that plays well fo a half, completely deflates in the 3rd for 3 straight games in the same building. Who cares about the home crowd and the Hornets energy? The Spurs should have enough poise to keep the game under control.

Oh well, I know they can win Game 6, but the way things have gone, a Game 7 win would be a miracle.

He's getting doubled as soon as he touched the ball

I mean even if a play isn't for him, still a double.

I don't know why we didn't attack the paint more like games 3 and 4
But he is also waiting too much for the double team. He needs to attack quickly, draw fouls, tire he Hornets big man. But at the moment he is just standing around waiting for the double team to happen so he can find the open teammate.

One thing I did notice is that when he makes a move to the baseline the man defending him always gives him a little push on the hip throwing him off and it's never called. Of course, he could leave all that behind if he was playing aggressively.

We'll trade you Bass for Duncan.

No no no no more trading contracts please! HOPEFULLY the Knicks can draft Stephon's heir this year (C'mon lottery) and just start shedding those overpriced losers. From here until the summer of 2010 we're scheduled to lose:

Stephon Marbury
Malik Rose
Quentin Richardson
Jerome James

The summer after that:

Zach Randolph (Barf)
Eddy Curry

At this point it can't get any worse with the Knicks. I can stomach 3 years of below .500 play (good enough for the playoffs in the East!) just to get rid of the bloated contracts.

I really hope the Knicks continue to tank because we have their draft pick and they can only defer it for another two years. I'd love nothing more than to see them wallow in misery for another couple of years only to have to hand their #1 pick over to Utah.

The whole lying and betrayal thing. Isn't it a bit hypocritical to accept one player who betrayed another team and hate another player just because he left your team?

Yes, fuck Boozer. He blatantly lied to 70 year old blind man.

Not sure how we would take to Marbury's return :lol
The Target Center would boo mercilessly for the way he left for Jersey. I'd be okay with it considering it's 20 mil of the books next summer, when Foye's going to demand big money.

Well hopefully that'll be easy to bear in 2010 if Donnie, as expected, stays on course to try to have plenty of cap room that Summer. Even losing yet another Top 3 pick wouldn't be too tough to bear if we can replace that with you-know-who via free agency.

Or maybe we'll have a D'Antoni Miracle Finish™ with a #22 pick or higher THIS season...then Utah gets that pick instead of our unprotected 2010 pick. I'm a believer. Make that happen, Mike. Make that happen.

As long as we get the guy I want this year (hint: Rose), I am cool with whatever happens.

i think someone finally graduated to absinthe status.

Would you seriously shut the fuck up? For you to hate me so much, even to the point of blocking me, you sure do go out of your way to mention me (even when no one is talking about me). Goddamn, I'm taken.

Barkley is calling the winner of the Utah/Lakers series as the team that will win the Finals.

I so agree. I'll agree even more if we win tonight. :D

while i do think that kobe is the MVP, how is he on the first defensive team? he always gets to guard inferior players so that he wont pick up fould and to "rest on defense"

star players rarely guard other stars, so i don't think he should be on that list.

He won it because everyone attributes Boston's team defense to KG

The youthful Hawks and the Cleveland Lebrons have been carving up that defense. In fact, Anderson fucking Varejao schooled Garnett several times last game. I was amazed.

These are awards for the regular season so whatever happens in the post season doesn't really matter. Besides, we all know Garnett enters choke mode once he enters the playoffs.

I know that. I'm just saying that their team defense isn't all it's cracked up to be.
