Absinthe said:This is incorrect. If five calls go the Lakers' way (and they did) then it cost the Jazz the game.
Absinthe said:Detroit is a nightmare match-up for the Lakers though. I think they can handle Boston, but Detroit is a physical team and they're even deeper than the Jazz.
Ninja Scooter said:the jazz lost because Boozer came up tiny in the 4th. He missed a ton of inside shots when they went to him. I'll admit the calls were in our favor overall this game, but that doesn't cost you the game. Its just an excuse.
aznpxdd said:Jazz blew all 5 of their chances to take the lead, stop using refs as an excuse.
Bad calls (unless its under a minute) rarely decide the game.
Absinthe said:Then why were so many Lakers fans bitching to the heavens after the games in Utah?
woodchuck said:if the officiating is leaning towards one team, why can't that cost you the game?
both teams could be dead even, but the officiating propels one team over the other. don't tell me thats due to home court advantage.

On 2nd thoughts.... What a frikken flop :lol
Ninja Scooter said:im saying focusing on a couple blown calls and ignoring how badly Boozer played in the 4th or how many shitty shots guys took (IE everyone that took a 3 not named Deron Williams) is stupid. They could have won those games despite the bad calls. All teams eventually have to do it. You tell me that a blown push off call is more important than Boozer and AK47 missing easy shots that would have given Utah the lead?
woodchuck said:utah did play pretty shitty, but so did the lakers. and the lakers won due to a couple of blown calls (i know the gasol push was a flop. im referring to other instances like the odom and 1 or the vujacic trip, etc). that was the difference when both teams played shitty.

Ninja Scooter said:if he didn't exaggerate like a biotch it would have either a)made it an easier call for the refs of b)he could have maintained SOME position and at worst battled Pau for that rebound. Its the same reason Manu sometimes doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on legit calls, refs are expecting him to flop.
Absinthe said:This sounds like a huge excuse to me. Even if a player exaggerates, a push is still a push. And it happened right in front of the refs. There's no such thing as "benefit of the doubt" when a foul is a foul.

please tell your not taking him serious.smhNinja Scooter said:of course it is, but this comes down to what i've been fucking saying FOREVER: NBA refs are IDIOTS. They can be fooled. They aren't fair. They are affected by fans/players/coaches yelling at them. They give superstars and home teams more calls. But its been like this for as far as i can remember. This isn't some new phenomenon of NBA refs sucking ass.

he's starting to become pretty cocky i've noticed this throughout the season.
Bullshit. AK-47 was playing way too close to him, and his arm had a lot to do with Sasha falling. Sasha only shot free throws because the jazz were in the penalty.woodchuck said:utah did play pretty shitty, but so did the lakers. and the lakers won due to a couple of blown calls (i know the gasol push was a flop by okur. im referring to other instances like the odom and 1 or the vujacic trip, etc). that was the difference when both teams played shitty.
The Chosen One said:Ditto. I noticed it last year when he said he was the leader of the Olympic team that had veteran players like Kobe and Kidd on it.
But just about any starting NBA player is cocky and self-absorbed, especially the franchise players. It's just Lebron is getting too full of his own hype that he's saying these things in public. I'm sure his teammates just loved hearing him say that.
I'm glad though that Kenny called him out on it on Inside the NBA. "Umm, what about the Cleveland Cavaliers?". If it was ESPN, they would have said, "Damn right! The Lebrons are never desperate!"

FrenchMovieTheme said:the best thing to do is accept that bad calls are made on both sides. obviously the losing team is going to complain more because you come up with "what-ifs", but it all evens out in the end.
