Why the hell do I even watch the NBA anymore? It's the same shit every year with the refs, only the teams that get screwed change.

This is incorrect. If five calls go the Lakers' way (and they did) then it cost the Jazz the game.

wrong. NBA games are never ref'd right down the middle evenly. One team (usually the home team) will get the advantage. Good teams that win in spite of that learn to adapt and overcome bad calls, but ALL teams have to do it. We weren't able to do it in Utah, Utah couldn't do it in LA. NBA refs are simply incompetent all around.

Detroit is a nightmare match-up for the Lakers though. I think they can handle Boston, but Detroit is a physical team and they're even deeper than the Jazz.

Let's don't get ahead of ourselves. Anyway, with the way Boston played so far, I doubt they can beat any of the remaining 4 Western conference teams, even with homecourt.

the jazz lost because Boozer came up tiny in the 4th. He missed a ton of inside shots when they went to him. I'll admit the calls were in our favor overall this game, but that doesn't cost you the game. Its just an excuse.

if the officiating is leaning towards one team, why can't that cost you the game?

both teams could be dead even, but the officiating propels one team over the other. don't tell me thats due to home court advantage.

im saying focusing on a couple blown calls and ignoring how badly Boozer played in the 4th or how many shitty shots guys took (IE everyone that took a 3 not named Deron Williams) is stupid. They could have won those games despite the bad calls. All teams eventually have to do it. You tell me that a blown push off call is more important than Boozer and AK47 missing easy shots that would have given Utah the lead?

utah did play pretty shitty, but so did the lakers. and the lakers won due to a couple of blown calls (i know the gasol push was a flop by okur. im referring to other instances like the odom and 1 or the vujacic trip, etc). that was the difference when both teams played shitty.

I wanna see the gasol non charge. i was LOLing after that :lol

That was exaggerated, but that was still clearly a push.

if he didn't exaggerate like a biotch it would have either a)made it an easier call for the refs of b)he could have maintained SOME position and at worst battled Pau for that rebound. Its the same reason Manu sometimes doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on legit calls, refs are expecting him to flop.

This sounds like a huge excuse to me. Even if a player exaggerates, a push is still a push. And it happened right in front of the refs. There's no such thing as "benefit of the doubt" when a foul is a foul.

of course it is, but this comes down to what i've been fucking saying FOREVER: NBA refs are IDIOTS. They can be fooled. They aren't fair. They are affected by fans/players/coaches yelling at them. They give favor stars and home teams. But its been like this for as far as i can remember. This isn't some new phenomenon of NBA refs sucking ass. Its not some grand conspiracy to screw the small market teams or increase ratings, its just refs sucking ass.

Are you watching a different clip? It looks like he is rest his fore arm on the bank of Okur until he decides to flop :lol

There's almost too much politics involved in major league sports for me to be interested anymore. I want to see objective referee work. The Mavs really did get fucked in the Finals that year. Lebron James travels and he should be called on it more. But no, the NBA knows his scoring would be cut considerably and then one of their superstars isn't so "super" anymore. Same applies to Dwayne Wade and Kobe and many other players.

There has to be contact in basketball. If every little contact with another player results in a flop that is bullshit.. I am glad there was no call because it looks like to me Pau was bracing for the box out. His arm never extended nor did it look anything like a push. If it wasn't for the Turkish flop that play would never be talked about.

Billie King was guest hosting on nba radio today. He said Kyle actually hates being compaired to Kutcher. So much so that'll he fight you about it.

This needs to be bulletin board material for the Lakers. Sasha will be calling him Ashton Kutcher all night and he probably won't know who the fuck he is.

I am glad I am not the only who thought so.. I mean they are weird twins..

I never said it before because one time I said Mark Cuban looked like Commodus from Gladiator and I got the "oh yeah all white guys look a like huh??" thing.. :lol

"A Lebron James team is never desperate.."

he's starting to become pretty cocky i've noticed this throughout the season.

Ditto. I noticed it last year when he said he was the leader of the Olympic team that had veteran players like Kobe and Kidd on it.

But just about any starting NBA player is cocky and self-absorbed, especially the franchise players. It's just Lebron is getting too full of his own hype that he's saying these things in public. I'm sure his teammates just loved hearing him say that.

I'm glad though that Kenny called him out on it on Inside the NBA. "Umm, what about the Cleveland Cavaliers?". If it was ESPN, they would have said, "Damn right! The Lebrons are never desperate!"

I obviously complain through out the game as bad calls are being called, but any sane fan knows they don't ultimately decide the game. (Unless its on the last play or something)

Bullshit. AK-47 was playing way too close to him, and his arm had a lot to do with Sasha falling. Sasha only shot free throws because the jazz were in the penalty.

And as for the push-offs, there's no way anyone (especially the Jazz fans; I know you're a Mavs fan, but still) can complain against that. Boozer, Okur and Millsap might have set an all-time record for push-offs in the first 4 games of this series.

Edit: and as for that push-off, I don't even see it. Gasol has his forearm in Okur's shoulder, sure, but the push is so slight, if the refs were to call that, they'd have to call a foul on every single possession of every NBA game ever played.

And as for the and-1 for Odom, whatever. It looked like he got fouled. Even if he didn't get fouled, it made up for the and-1 that should have been called, but wasn't when he dunked over Okur earlier in the game.

he has "CHOSEN1" in bigass letters tattooed across his back, and the word "Witness" down his leg, and you're just now realizing he's full of himself?

We actually had an argument a couple of weeks ago whether Lebron James was humble or not...

Lakers gets 40+ FT's at home and it's an NBA conspiracy!

Utah gets 40+ FT's at home and it's all about how Lakers fans have no right to bitch!

the best thing to do is accept that bad calls are made on both sides. obviously the losing team is going to complain more because you come up with "what-ifs", but it all evens out in the end.
