By going off I don't mean scoring 40, I mean 6-10 rebounds, 30 points, 15 assists, 4+ steals, kinda going off. Cp3 doesn't know how to not involve everyone, to a point its sometimes detrimental, ie, giving West the ball when he can't hit shit, or Pargo when all he does is ball hog and take stupid shots.

thats my point. he can put his teammates in a position to succeed but will they?

Yea your a real class act:

And then you go on and quote the cheering

Yea, I would tell you something but I don't want to get banned. Your a Classless fan, for a classless team, in a classless city(at least a majority of the sports fans are it seems).

:lol don't blame me for your coach leaving him in the game in a blowout situation where Paul was on the bench! West was injured already so why risk him getting hurt in garbage time?

Popasnitch pulled his starters the whole 4th in game 2 and tonight, except for Manu, they were out in the whole 4th.

Horry didn't have intent to hurt the guy. Blame Manu for passing up the shot making West move to defend the basket. If Ryan Bowen ran into Horry that play, nothing would've happened!

I have no idea why people get all butt hurt with him...

Don't let the cute puns fool you. I was and still am vicious, but I've learned the ways of the ignore list.

Oddly enough I haven't placed a single Lakers fan on there, but it's a few new bandwagoners on there...........

It kind of comes down to body type these days. NBA scouts need to be able to tell you a player's vert, and wingspan, and all that trash. White talented players are oftened overlooked for upside. I love when a player's greatest point in the draft is wingspan...
It goes in cycles. Kevin Love will bring the white unathletic American back into bball dominance.

Horry would have had to be a pinpoint surgeon to know where to strike West. He'd also have to know that West was going to jump. You see the play in slo-mo and think he has a lot of time. But at full speed he has only so much time to react. West isn't a small man and bracing for the impact of him coming into you is much different then trying to break him off..

what happened to the Brent Barrys, J Williams, even Van Horns of the white bball world? We have a ton of spot shooters and 7 foot stiffs

I hadn't thought about this before, but...

In the past year, I've had two teams I cheer for fire two rookie black coaches(who only weren't fired earlier because they had a season where the players overachieved for him, and he could only respond to disappointing losses with trite cliches and throwing the players under the bus), and replace them with two experienced, white coaches named Rick who were on coaching hiatus for whatever reason.

He only feels that way because the refs finally started calling push offs on him.

That's ridiculous by the Hornets. Talk about sore losers. You guys got ran out of the building, and I'd wonder why Udoka is raining jumpers on you before I'd say anything about the officials getting a phone call at halftime.

When teams start making those excuses, they're not good at dealing with adversity. Should game 7 start out with San Antonio coming out hot, I wouldn't be surprised to see New Orleans lose their composure and make some stupid plays. Meltdown imminent?

I'm still pushing hard for a Jazz/Spurs WCF!

Jazz players wouldn't ever call out the refs like that. I mean saying there were a few bad calls is all well and good, but when you say, "maybe they got a call at halftime" Gimme a break. Guess what Chris, if the reffing squad that night is calling push-offs, DON'T DO THEM!

I always loved the implication that if the NBA was fixing games, they would fix them for the Spurs. The SPURS of all teams. So if the NBA is going to fix the conference semi finals, they wouldn't fix it so we get the Hornets (CP3) vs the Lakers (Kobe)? Sometimes people make no sense.

I don't think the NBA fixes games, but I don think refs get on these retarded ego trips where they want to be a controlling factor in games, so they call them how THEY want to call them, not exactly by the rule book. It happens a lot, and it's annoying. The NBA needs to be more like the NFL in the way that they'll acknowledge poor officiating and have some level of accountability.

The problem is the NBA is much harder to officiate in general. The game is faster (IE no 25 second breaks after each play) and the size differences of all the players is drastically different. I mean yeah, the running back is far different in size than the o linemen. But in the NBA you get "mismatches" where you have Tony Parker actively trying to defend Shaq one on one. Sure, there is incompetence going on, but overall its just much harder to officiate. Also, subtle movements have far more impact on the NBA players compared to NFL players.

They are just following the Spurs example.

I sincerely don't have much hope for Game 7. Yes, the Spurs have the experience and poise, but I thought that would show up in Game 5 and we all know how it ended.

I'll still be watching and supporting until the last second.

it's not like the spurs have held themselves as the beacon of class. if they're not giving "hard fouls" they're flopping left and right and complaining that it isn't called. So I love to see these spurs fans all self-righteous right now, like they're above reproach. Give me a break.

At the same time, what CP said was in the game at the scorers table. It's not like he called a presser to talk about it. No shit these guys have feelings on that stuff during the game, but I'm sure once the game was over and he got to think about it a bit he wouldn't have said anything.

The thing that pisses me off about the Horry thing is that these guys dont' get treated equally. If that foul happens on an Anderson Varejao, it doesn't even make the highlight reel. If it happens against Kobe, Horry gets suspsended for a game. The NBA is so horrible at being even-handed in dealing with this stuff. Last year Amare steps on the floor and gets slammed for a game suspension; it happens in Boston and Stern just says "oh it didn't effect the game." Ugh.

and as evidence for Horry planning a hard foul there, most players in that situation would already be squared up to the hoop waiting for the rebound. Especially if that player was a s"old school" and "basketball smart" as Horry is. He may not have wanted to hurt West, but he definitely had every intention of putting him to the mat.

Why would he be going for the rebound when he was setting a screen for Manu who was coming around the baseline? It was just that Manu decided to make a pass instead of continuing the drive.

Carry on with the cryfest, Horry did nothing wrong.

If Ron Artest does that against Lebron, he's expelled from the league.

Anyone doing it to Lebron, 1-2 game suspension.

But somehow, this is 'playoff basketball'. Way to be consistent NBA. Next time someone tries to wrap up Lebron and you call them for a flagrant, be sure to remind everyone that you have the best officials in the world.

manu was at the baseline with nowhere to go. he was driving for the short jumper and stopped to dish instead of pull up.

you can defend your goons all you want. i'm a pistons fan so i'm not gonna begrudge you that pleasure :lol let's just make sure we call a spade a spade here, ok?

I'm finally able to postand I figured that this is a good of place than any to post my first post. so hi, I'm a sixers fan.....so yes I'm a masochist.

Most NBA observers figured the Raptors' chances of keeping both Calderon and T.J. Ford were minimal at best.

As the team's off-season continues, the chances grow even slimmer, the possibility of a trade more likely as the chasm between Ford and Calderon widens.

At this point, all Calderon can do is wait until July 1, when NBA free agency kicks in.

In his case, Calderon becomes a restricted free agent and the Raptors have steadfastly stated they will match any offer.

With so few teams having cap space, the most Calderon can expect is a mid-level offer, which is expected to be in the neighbourhood of $5.6 million US, doubling his stipend from last season.

Sign-and-trade scenarios are possible and teams conceivably can clear space, factors that could lead to a more lucrative offer for Calderon.

But the fact remains that one of Calderon or Ford must go.
I laugh at the Raptors and Bryan Colangelo.

Also, like I said a couple pages ago:

Do they get hypnotized by star players? Yes. Do they see certain players get fouled so often that they call similar looking borderline plays against the guys defending these players? Yes. Do they expect star players to finish layups and dunks after they make a great move to the basket, to the point where they blow the whistle when the star players don't finish? Yes. See the 2006 Finals for a prime example.
I think that's a really big factor, actually. If someone like Kobe, Lebron or Wade doesn't finish a layup at the rim, the refs usually just assume he got fouled if it looked like there might have been some contact.

Down the hall, 3 doors down on your right, name of ZEP will be on the door.

How does betting on basketball work? I've been wanting to bet on every home team this round because they almost always win, just don't know if the return is as big as I would want it to be. I know total points is over under they break the points, but the spread and total money line screw me up :(

CLE
Point spread -2½
Total 178½o/u
Total money line -110

The eight circle of hell will be when the Blazers are dominant again. Going to be some good times ahead.

You guys don't even want to be here when T-Mac makes it to the 2nd round! I'm going to take this thread behind a middle school and get it pregnant.

It's okay, you'll have plenty of happy Brandon Roy playoff success pictures for the next 10 or so years to brag about.

If I had any photoshop skills (or even MS Paint skills) I would post a "The First Round Virgin" photo. But I don't, so you'll just have to use your imagination!

It would be actually funny if you used a player, that you know, has been longer in the league than two seasons :lol

You know, like one that has been playing since 1998.
