yes!

now all we need to do is get rid of dhani jones, trade for vilma, and draft a SAFETY

thats all not much.

Yeah Dhani is most likely gone.

We're not getting Vilma, so stop.

Reggie Nelson future!

Alright, what's the word on Takeo? Pretty good?

Pro Bowl LB when healthy is all you need to know. But you should know more, its not like he is unheard of

I dunno know about Pro-Bowl anymore. Being 30 w/ a bad achillies leaves me with my doubts, but its a decent pickup for the short-term.

News is Redskins are interested in Lance Briggs. Talk is a swap of 1st round picks. This just sucks for Bears fans. Hey, we get a slightly better looking draft. Buh-bye Lance and Thomas Jones! Ugh. Two team favorites. Only good news thus far is a safety pick up in Archuleta for when Mike Brown's annual injury hits.

I think the Bears would get the better.

Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you

Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Dumbass trade if the Bears do it. Lance Briggs is worth a 2nd pick. A 2nd rounder coupled with a late round pick AT MOST. The difference between the 6th and 31st on the draft value chart is 1000 points exactly, which equates to a mid first round pick....

NOT WORTH IT Jamaal Anderson and Gaines Adams potential upside is far greater than where Briggs is now.

Week 1 Schedule -->

Thursday Night - Saints @ Colts
Sunday Night - Giants @ Cowboys (****. Eli seems to play well in Dallas)
Monday Night - Ravens @ Bengals
Monday Night 2nd game - Cardinals @ Niners (lol)

Thanksgiving
GB @ Detroit
Jets @ Cowboys
Colts @ Falcons

that is a retarded trade if the redskins do it. but then again it is the washington "hey who the **** needs draft picks! we've been rebuilding through free agency for 10 years!" redskins

Monday Night 2nd game - Niners/Cardinals (lol)

why are you laughing for? no one wants to see the bitch ass cowboys stink it up on national tv! :D

Theisman will probably be calling the niners/cardinals game (mnf B team). Are you sure you still want to watch that?

this is why the need to team him with Wilbon for MNF. No play-by-play guy either (they are worthless anyway, except for Gus Johnson), just Kornheiser and Wilbon.

I would watch this and watch this alot if this happened.

And Chargers are gonna rape Bears week 1!!! Suck it Bear fans!!!!:lol

there is no MNF "b" team. there is a D team on staff right now. theismann and whatever other talking head they throw in with him (probably his boyfriends paul mcgwire and whatever that "ho-lee-cow!" guys name was) would be their F team.

and no i won't be watching monday night football... i will be at the stadium bitches! we aint... ugh... go in nowhere, we aint... goin no where... we can't be stopped now! yeah puff daddy bitch!

What will Rulo say, FMT!? We are the 49ers, we are always fighting and we're always exciting!

you're a dick dude! i finally had that ****ing song out of my head after all this time. it was out of my life and the odds that i would have seen it ever again were slim. now its going to be in my head.... and if i dont watch it again it will get worse. bucthumpin asshole!

I've been simulating Madden 07 thru seasons to get the 30 year achievement. Anyways it pops up and says Alex Smith got into the Hall of Fame. WTF!

And what happened to Matt Hasselback? Became a hall of fame car salesman?

in my madden after 30 years they re-name the "hall of fame" the "alex smith shrine of excellence in the area of professional football"

Man, the NFC West got a great set of RB's. I'm seeing Shaun Alexander get back to 2 years ago, but then there's also Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, and Edge (if the line gets upgraded which I think it will be).

did he have the balls to **** a chick before marriage in your franchise unlike in real life?

Nope he's still a religious nut. Interestingly though Alex went thru puberty after he got into the hall of fame.

I think we learned a lot about the type of player Edge is at this stage of his career when he doesn't have 3 pro bowlers on his o-line or teams scared to stack the box because of Peyton. Hes a 3 yard per carry back on the Cards.

I lost my virginity before Alexander did despite being like 6 years younger so he gets no cool points from me.

SJAX was recruited by Dennis Erickson so that automatically makes him a ****in douche bag.

So as you can see, Frank "the mother****in TANK" Gore is obviously the king of NFC west running backs.

if the redskins get briggs, i'm officially going to be pissed off and rooting for everyone that plays them week in and week out.

Yeah, I usually always turn on the Buffalo game. I've heard he was good, got injured 2 years ago. My question is whether he'll be an upgrade. Who knows? Any Buffalo fans can give impressions of his past year? Will he shed blocks (which none of our LB do)? Can he cover downfield? Our LBs aren't ridiculously bad except when Trotter's in coverage or when they get blocked. It comes down to speed and strength. The get to the hole and get blocked. All three of them. Nobody comes to help. If you put a hat on them, that's it.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I guess anybody better will help. We didn't seem to lose too much in doing it. But DT and LB are our biggest need.

You dont gotta watch the bills games to know who he is. He has been around for 10 years, and was with the Bengals for a while. Impact probowl LB that can play the run and pass. Tore his Achiles 2 years ago. Played this past season at a pretty good level but was hampered by a hamstring for some games

But I need more than that or what I hear on Sunday Night Countdown. I know he's been to the probowl. I can tell anybody a lil more about players like LJ Smith or Buckhalter just because I've seen them play. A Buffalo fan can tell me whether he has a great work effort or if he's the standout in Buffalo or if he's on the decline. He's 30 and as far as his past success, it may not matter. Trotter used to be great. Ever since he got into that fight in Atlanta, not so much. He used to be a great run stuffer and had a ton of energy. Now, I only notice him when he's being blocked or outran in coverage. I also know that he's apart of a defense where the DBs consistently have more tackles than the LB. Not a good sign. All things that a fan who watches them week in and week out will notice. Not the Pro Bowl mention from a few years ago. I just want to know how good of an upside he has.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti does his part to keep the Colts history in Baltimore:

Bisciotti confirms he's buyer of Unitas souvenirs

PHOENIX // Driven to keep John Unitas memorabilia in Baltimore, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti confirmed yesterday that he was the anonymous bidder who purchased 10 items relating to the legendary Colts quarterback for $165,370.

At the Feb. 23 auction, Bisciotti bought a helmet worn by Unitas in the 1960s for $54,050 and the quarterback's first contract with the Baltimore Colts for $29,900.

Bisciotti intends to lend some of the items to the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards so that fans can view them.

"I don't like stuff like that floating around," Bisciotti said yesterday during a break at the NFL owners meetings. "For me, it was an opportunity - no matter what the cost is - to stop that from ending up in a private collection. They couldn't charge too much."

Unitas' widow, Sandra, said she couldn't be happier because Bisciotti has been "a good friend to the family."

"He's a wonderful owner, a good person and has been very supportive to my family since John passed," she said. "I know how he loves John."

...

"I'm glad Steve Bisciotti bought it," John (Unitas) Jr. said. "I think it's wonderful. It belongs in Baltimore."

Bisciotti likely will put the helmet in his owner's suite at M&T Bank Stadium, where he has Unitas memorabilia in one mock locker and Ray Lewis items in another one.

It's there that Bisciotti has a shaving kit used by Unitas, the only personal item Sandra Unitas has ever given away.

"John Unitas represents my childhood," said Bisciotti, who still has a photo taken with Unitas when he was 6 years old. "It means no more or no less than every other Baltimore fan."

I hear that they are talking about putting a speaker into one of the defensive player's helmet. What do you guys think about that? I don't think that's a good idea.

I don't see how it's any different than having a speaker for the QB. I think both should have them or neither should have them.

The offense is getting to far of an advantage in many aspects from the league. Offense heightens ratings. As a fan of defense, I'm all for whatever helps. :D

I guess it depends on the implementation of the system. If they only get a play relayed to them in the first 10 seconds then it is shut off maybe I'd be ok with it.

Well, how does it work for the offense?

If they can be telling the quarterback who to look for deep after a play is broken up, they should be able to tell the best linebacker/defensive back what to look for (run/pass)

I'd totally take that trade from the Redskins. From 31st to 6th for someone who isn't going to play for us anyway? Hell yeah.

I doubt this trade will happen. I know for a fact that the Skins F/O is incapable of running a franchise but there's no way they can be this stupid. The Bears will need to give up more than that. They'd have to throw a couple of more picks in because Briggs aint playing for you any way.

Supposedly Briggs and some guy within their organization are meeting to rectify the situation.

If they didn't already, hopefully most NFL cities will now recognize the "unless taxpayers foot the bill for my new stadium because my franchise is so starved for money I'm going to move to Los Angeles" threat is complete hogwash.

PHOENIX — For the first time in recent memory — more than a decade, some observers say — the NFL has left the L.A. situation off its owners meetings agenda. Traditionally, this is when league officials do their most intense soul searching about the lack of a team in the nation's second-largest market.

Our 2002, draft:

1 27 Mike Rumph CB Miami
3 69 Saleem Rasheed ILB Alabama
4 102 Jeff Chandler K Florida
4 127 Kevin Curtis FS Texas Tech
5 163 Brandon Doman QB Brigham Young
5 172 Josh Shaw DT Michigan State
6 201 Mark Anelli TE Wisconsin
7 239 Eric Heitmann C Stanford
7 248 Kyle Kosier G Arizona State
7 256 Teddy Gaines DB Tennessee

**** YOU Terry Donahue. The only player still playing for us was picked in the 7th round, and was probably a lucky pick.

As FMT pointed out earlier, the Redskins are apparently allergic to draft picks. I wouldn't be suprised at all to see them move down to 31 and send some later round picks to Chi-town for Lance Briggs. He is a big name and you know D.Snyd likes big names.

If skins for some reason don't want Adams or Anderson they could always trade down in the draft and take Timmons or Willis, either of which I think will end up being better than Briggs.. But whatever, makes the NFC that much more easier for us.
