You mean we would have to watch MNF without Joe Theisman's man crushes and Tony K's corny ass jokes? Don't get me wrong I like Tony, but he doesn't really KNOW football to the point where can disect plays and bring up points in the gameplan etc.. He is there seemingly just for comic relief. And its like he never really has any points to make so he just tries to be funny.

Jaws would be an immediate upgrade. They should just STFU and let him talk.

But Tony's on my broadcasting fantasy team!

eagles interested in spikes.

apparently the giants are as well.

man i really would have liked wilson over spikes but he must be really injured for teams to pass him up.

argg spikes will fit right in...old and slow.

anthony adams (AA) is an ok dude. he really isn't going to set the world on fire with his play but he gives it his all. the problem he has is that he is definitely undersized, especially for the 3-4 defense which is why we had to let him go. he should fit in well with the bears. he has a good motor

looks like PFT's rumor might be right! Yes!

Joe Theismann is out as a "Monday Night Football" analyst after one season, a person familiar with the decision said Sunday.

Reached on his cell phone, Theismann declined comment "until I fully understand what has taken place" but did not deny the news and hinted that it came as a shock.

Theismann is believed to have been informed Friday. An ESPN spokesman said only "we have nothing to announce."

The likely replacement alongside Mike Tirico and Tony Kornheiser will be Ron Jaworski. He worked one end of a Monday night doubleheader last year and currently is calling Arena League games.

Kornheiser must have a lot of juice @ ESPN. He and Theisman obviously didn't get along :lol

I think it was less "lack of chemistry" than "Theismann doing a horrible job." Jaworski should be great.

Giants have Kawika Mitchell in for a visit today. :)

Oh, and check this **** out! Didn't someone say Anthony Wright to Falcons earlier?

The Falcons have been in talks with free agent QB Anthony Wright.

Wright, who spent 2006 in Cincinnati, would likely compete with Chris Redman and D.J. Shockley to back up Michael Vick in Atlanta.

PTI is one of, if not their, top-rated shows.. it's really the only thing I watch on ESPN. I loves me some Tony.

WOW, the Falcons are REALLY making sure that theres no QB controversy this season. Sadly, its going to back fire on them BIG time, and 2 years from now the Falcons will be getting ready to draft Colt McCoy or somebody, as the great Michael Vick experiment has officially been labeled a failure.

But don't worry Falcons fans, if your GM listens to me I have the ultimate solution: Trade Michael Vick to the Raiders for the 1st overall pick(you KNOW Al will take this trade!). With the 1st pick draft Calvin Jackson, with the 8th pick draft Brady Quinn, with the 39th pick select Joe Staley(prototypical zone blocking OT), add Brandon Merriweather at safety with the 44th pick, and make sure they grab Tank Tyler in the 3rd round. Look, the Falcons aren't making the playoffs this year anyway, atleast this way they would have a franchise QB and an all-world WR for the next 13 seasons, as well as three other guys at major need areas who would provide immediate upgrades. The Falcons would be ready to compete by 08 using my plan.

Not a bad plan. What are the 49ers going to do to be competitive in the next 10 or so years? ;)

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/bal-sp.mcgahee25mar25,0,1605085.story?page=1&track=tbd

"I couldn't wait to get out of there," McGahee told the Baltimore Sun regarding his former home. He fled after the season ended, and had no intention of returning.
When the trade to Baltimore went through, McGahee got his wish. "I was yelling and [stuff], running through the whole house, screaming, 'Yes! Yes!'" McGahee said. "It was such a relief."

So what was the problem with Buffalo? "Coming from Miami, I was used to partying, going out, just having something to do every night. Restaurants, whatever. Going to Buffalo, it was like hitting a brick wall. Like, '****!' Can't go out, can't do nothing. There's an Applebee's, a TGI Friday's, and they just got a Dave & Busters. They got that, and I'm like, 'What the?' And, you know, the women . . . ."

What about the women, Willis? Please, elaborate. Because we can't wait to see the welcome that those women will provide when you come back, hopefully for a prime time game. "You see, when I was in college that's what I used to thrive off of," McGahee said of his status in Miami. "The better you do, the more fame you get. So you know, it was like, I was used to that. And then you get to Buffalo and no matter how you do, it's the same. It's no big city. You know what I did every day? I came home and played video games."

:lol Willis is the man. Nice long/good read.

Don't worry we'll be there. Hopefully we won't have the injuries that we had the last two times we met. I'll be here to throw down an avatar bet as well. :P

Oh, Willis. There's so much I need to warn you about, yet sadly, I cannot.

Lotta big talk from a 7-9 team in 2006 who have put together 20 total wins over the last 4 years.

Wow apparently Denver is in talks with 2-3 teams to trade off Al Jesus Wilson. I didn't even know that. I guess it's a salary cap move.

PHOENIX (March 26, 2007) -- The NFL announced its 2007 Kickoff Weekend national television schedule -- including a Monday night doubleheader -- and its Thanksgiving Day national TV tripleheader.

In a tradition that began in 2004, the Super Bowl champion annually hosts the NFL Thursday night season kickoff the following year. Sept. 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC, the Super Bowl XLI champion Colts will welcome the New Orleans Saints to Indianapolis. The game will have an "All-Star" flavor, featuring the starting quarterbacks from the 2007 Pro Bowl -- Indianapolis' Peyton Manning and the Saints' Drew Brees.

On Sunday, Sept. 9, the FOX national doubleheader game at 4:15 p.m. ET will send the defending NFC champion Chicago Bears to visit the AFC West champion San Diego Chargers, led by reigning NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson and new head coach Norv Turner. San Diego (14-2) and Chicago (13-3) led their respective conferences in regular-season wins in '06.

The Sunday night primetime game (8:15 p.m. ET) on NBC will feature the NFC Wild Card Playoff teams of last season, as the New York Giants visit the Dallas Cowboys, led by new head coach Wade Phillips.

Monday night, Sept. 10, ESPN will host a Monday Night Football doubleheader featuring two critical division matchups. The first game (7 p.m. ET) will send the AFC North titlist Baltimore Ravens to Cincinnati to battle the Bengals. The MNF nightcap (10:15 p.m. ET) will be an NFC West matchup, as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The game will showcase talented young quarterbacks -- Arizona's Matt Leinart (No. 10 overall selection in last year's draft) and the 49ers' Alex Smith (No. 1 overall pick in '05)

Falcons to host Colts Thanksgiving Night
By Chris Pika, AF.com
March 26, 2007

The Falcons will participate in the national tradition of Thanksgiving football as they will host the defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 22 at 8:15 p.m. ET in the Georgia Dome.

The game, which will be televised by the NFL Network, will be the third of three games that day as Green Bay will travel to traditional host Detroit at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX and the N.Y. Jets will go to Dallas for a 4:15 p.m. ET showdown on CBS.

"We are excited to be part of the Thanksgiving Day tradition," said Falcons President and GM Rich McKay, who is attending the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Ariz. "Anytime you can play a game on national television, its great for our organization and the city of Atlanta."

Atlanta will become the second new city in as many years to host a Thanksgiving Night game as Kansas City hosted the 2006 nighttime version.

It will be the second Thanksgiving Day game for the Falcons in three years. Atlanta went on the road to Detroit and beat the Lions, 27-7 on Nov. 24, 2005.

The Thanksgiving Day schedule was among eight national TV games announced by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The remainder of the 2007 regular season schedule will be announced by the league sometime in April.

Awesome!! A home Thanksgiving game. As a sesaon ticket holder I can't wait. :D :D

Wow, that is a pretty nice first week of football. Only thing that would make it better is a Lombardi Trophy presentation to the soon-to-be 4-time SuperBowl Champion Redskins.

Get used to it.. it started lsat year but the NFL is really trying to hype up a Leinart vs. Smith rivalry .

What you talkin about? The niners had 1 game in primetime, and the seahawks were playin in it.

Anyways, I wonder which group of analysts will be covering either game?

http://www.danshanoff.com/2007/03/manning-disses-brady-on-snl.html

I attended last night's SNL dress rehearsal, where Lorne Michaels decides what sketches and jokes to keep, and which to dump.

Anyway, during Peyton's monologue, Amy Poeler was dressed in a Patriots jersey and heckled Peyton, saying "What does Tom Brady and the Circus have in common? They both have two more rings than you."

Peyton stared right back and said, "That's not the ONLY thing he'll have two more of....."

CLASSIC! I'm not sure if the rest of the audience got the reference, but unfortunately they dumped it from the live broadcast.

So, let me get this straight. Thiesman goes, which I have no problem with, but Kornheiser stays? That sucks!

Kornheiser is good. He just needs to act like he acts on PTI. When he was on MNF last year, he was like a different dude kinda. I don't know...

this is why the need to team him with Wilbon for MNF. No play-by-play guy either (they are worthless anyway, except for Gus Johnson), just Kornheiser and Wilbon.
