The offense will be tops if they keep up with running. Hopefully, JGar will be back. I skimmed an article today that he stated he would like to stay. It just depends on which teams really want him.

Peter King is off his rocker.

He wants the Bears to completely wipe the QB slate clean. Wants to get rid of Grossman, Griese, and Orton. He wants the Bears to trade a 2nd day pick for David Carr, and then get Jeff Garcia and possibly get Jake Plummer as well.

Guy is insane.

Rex will be back next year, and haters will get punched in the mouth. :) I'm sick of all this quick fix bs. Bears going through the growing pains of bringing up a young QB, and he will be much better next year.

The Bears have *never* developed a young QB before (besides Sid Luckman like 35 years ago), and Rex has shown flashes of brilliance over the season. I'm sick of changing QBs and trying to run qbs out of town, let us wait and see what Rex can do when he gets more games in.

Haha, perhaps, perhaps, but the Bears have been a resiliant bunch under Lovie and I don't see them taking a nose dive next year.

I don't think they'll get the number one seed next year because their schedule is much tougher, but I expect to see them in the playoffs again. And perhaps they'll have to make it to the superbowl as a 3 or 4 seed. ;) I've seen the Bears lose for too many years, I would like to see them be an annual playoff team for the next 6 to 8 years and see what happens once the playoffs start.

It looks as though there still may be a chance that Norv will stay in san fran. Apparently he doesn't want Jason Garrett as OC if he takes the job, and we all know that Jerry really wants to give Garrett the OC position as well as groom him to be their head coach of the future. Apparently all of Norv's demands have bumped him out of the top spot.

Guess we'll see.

Wow. What a crazy ride going on in Dallas.

Here are my predictions:

More teams go with a running by committee approach. Last year who did this? Pats, Jets, Browns, Texans, Colts, Jags, Titans, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles (when they ran), Falcons, Panthers, Saints, and Bucs. Face it, defenses are too big and strong and bonafide starting RBs are getting more breathers.

The NFC will still be the JV league. There are too many mediocre teams, and there is not enough player or coaching talent out there to bring them to another level. That said, I expect the NFC West (minus the Cards) to make a quantum leap. I expect the Rams to win the division with the Niners and Seahawks fighting for second.

I fully expect the starting QBs that were drafted in 2004 to have breakout years; Rivers, Ben, and Eli. Ben showed flashes of it last year towards the end of the season, Rivers will be shackled less by Marty ball, and Eli will step up and showed what he did at the start of the 06 season. I expect the pecking order to be Ben, Eli, Rivers, with Rivers hitting a sophomore slump.

The Raiders will win 4 games next year.

The Titans won't live up too their hype.

Amen. Those QB's are gonna take off next season and Rivers already had his glory. Sophmore slump might be an issue. I don't know about Eli though, the whole team needs to cater to his needs as a QB. And it should be Big Ben's best year yet.

Rex Grossman should have to compete for the job. I think it would do him well to have some competition. Like I said, I would have prefered Griese to have played in some of those games, but Griese won't be competition.

Possibly. New OC Arians is pretty much throwing out the playbook and starting fresh with a more streamlined one. Supposedly he wants to run more three and four wides with Ben under center instead of shotgun, also wants to run the ball with Parker out of 3 and 4 wide sets sometimes as well. I like the idea, especially if it means using Heath Miller the way the Colts use Dallas Clark. Also like the idea of trying to spread out defenses for Parker. Weather Tomlin can put it all together and make it work is another matter. One thing's for sure, it won't be run of the mill in Pittsburgh next season.

Griese is a washed up second string QB. He is only there to play in case sexy gets hurt. He doesn't deserve any playtime at all.

Bears got to the super bowl with Rex. They beat seattle because of Rex. The Bears put away the Saints because of Rex. Yes Grossman played a bad superbowl, but then so did the whole team. The offensive line was a mess that game, and the defensive line couldn't get any pressure at all.

Seeing as how Rex stayed healthy all year, and the team went 15-4 with him at QB, and the team got to the superbowl. In fact, he holds the single season record as a Bears QB in terms of wins and losses.

Rex isn't afraid of competition either, or even pressure. History has shown he has thrived off of those two things. Perhaps Lovie can suggest an open QB competition next spring to fuel Rex some more, but there is no convincing reason at all to start Griese at QB.

QBs, young or old, just don't come back from the kind of suckjob Rex pulled off on the grandest stage last sunday. It just doesn't happen. His career is done.

Its called the "Kerry Collins" Effect

if i were nolan i'd be tempted to tell norv to **** off. it's just bullshit that norv is at cowboys HQ celebrating with jerry when irvin was announced as getting into the hall, and norv saying "oh greatest job opportunity ever" and all this other crap. i don't even know if i want him back. i've lost a lot of respect for him but at the same time i realize it might be best for our offense to have some stability.

Yeah the Norv Turner situation is hilarious. He is doing everything to tell the niners to F off but Jerry won't hire him!

Mark Rypien has a ring. Hell Big Ben played worse than Grossman did in the super bowl and got a ring. It gives me hope. :)

apparently ron rivera had a bad interview as well since JJ doesn't want to change the defense to a 4-3 (cowboys have a 3-4 personnel set). now john clayton reported on a chicago radio station tonight that wade phillips was the front runner!

Good, keep Chico in Chi Town. Whoever gets the Dallas job is on borrowed time anyway, since Jerry Jones is gonna want to put Garrett in as head coach in a year or two.

Big Ben won. Thats the difference. Mark Rypien won. Neither of those guys put up the kinds of historically shitty games Rex did in their respective super bowl seasons. Rex was the weak point on that team this year. He was the Bear's major flaw. You can talk youth all you want, but put rookie Rooflesberger on that Bears team and they probably win it all. Rex just isn't a good QB.

You're right, Rex isn't a good QB. He is a great QB and will prove it in the upcoming season. Get your trash talking in while you can. :D

I agree. Things would be different if we were still running the good ole fashioned WCO, where we can plug in any competent OC familiar with that offense. But for Alex's stability I think we need Norv. The kid is on the cusp of being a special player because he is finally starting to get it. Having to pretty much start over again would be a big set-back.

Cusp my ass...He needs to throw more TD's than INT's first.

Hes only 22 years old, and didn't exactly have an all-world WR core. Hes on the same level as a guy like Carson Palmer was in his 2nd year, but with far less talent. Either way, he'll go down as a bigger winner than Bulger can hope to be.

:O Carson Palmer was an MVP candidate his 2nd year. Alexis is closer to David Carr at that age right now than Carson.

That was Carson's 3rd year in the 05 season. He was drafted 03 but sat and learned his first year, had the up and down year in 04, broke out in 05.

Cusp my ass...He needs to throw more TD's than INT's first.

1. he is young and came from a gimmick system in college. he increased his TD productivity by 16 times. if he keeps up that pace he is going to throw for a league record 256 touchdowns next year

2. he has a #2 receiver as his #1 receiver, a #3 receiver as his #2, and a #5 receiver as his #3. he also had to play without phenom VD for a good deal of the season

3. between 4 and 8 of his interceptions were absolutely 100% not his fault. i know that is a cop out but wtf do you want him to do when he puts the ball on the money and the receiver ****ing falls down or a RB lets the ball bounce off his hands and into the air for an INT

don't worry. alex is legit

:lol oh shit, you went there. But i'll pull up for now and let you whiners talk a good game.

And those playbooks are kinda cool...I'd kill to see Mad Mike's plays.

um carson palmer went 8-8 in his first full season. alex smith went 7-9 in his first full season. not only that but alex didn't have a top 3 receiver to throw to like palmer did

What's this I hear about Plummer to the Texans with Carr getting traded? I guess I'm a Texans fan now :D

With the 8th overall pick in the 2007 draft, the Houston texans select Mason Crosby, kicker from the university of Colorado.

I guess now it's time for me to give up
I feel it's time
Got a picture of you beside me
Got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup
Got a fist of pure emotion
Got a head of shattered dreams
Gotta leave it, gotta leave it all behind now

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

Unaware but underlined I figured out this story
It wasn't good
But in the corner of my mind I celebrated glory
But that was not to be
In the twist of separation you excelled at being free
Can't you find a little room inside for me

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

And we'll be together, this time is forever
We'll be fighting and forever we will be
So complete in our love
We will never be uncovered again

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

I guess now it's time, that you came back for good

Wait, does that mean you're a Plummer fan? How does that happen? The Snake's parents aren't fans of Jake Plummer.

I'm beginning to think that Bill Simmons might have killed himself Sunday night. Four days later and still no crow-eating article about Indy winning the Superbowl? He would have written half a dozen "Tom Brady Is My Lord And Savior And I Want Him Inside Of Me" articles by now if the Pats had made it and won.
