I mean the call where he had complete control of the ball as it touched the ground. Everyone but Jaguar fans know what the call should have been.

So you mean when Wilford had possession?

I missed the play but since you have yet to be rational, I'm just going to assume you're full of it.

The holding call on the two point conversion was bad, the Holmes overturn was bad, but the refs made questionable calls all over. And Polamalu was held, yeah, but it's not like he would have made the tackle anyway. Horrible defensive play is to blame for that run, not a missed call. Garrard was running wild all night, and that's just...fucking sad.

You learn a lot about an individuals character when they are forced to deal publicly with loss.

I'm not the only bitter person in the topic. You can see what losing a game does to you, just look back to when the Steelers took the lead. The Jaguar fan's attitudes were soooooooo different right?

Announcers tend to agree that the player in the first half HAD POSSESSION (It's pretty fucking obvious, but be my guest... ignore it) and the play by Willford hit the ground before he even had a stable hold on it.

You could be a man about it. Bitching about officials on the intertubes isn't going to change the outcome (unless I do it next Saturday).

A Steelers fan complaining about the refs...lol. Face it, your coach chased points and it came back to bite you in the ass.

The reciever used the ground to scoop the ball up. It was Incomplete

The Holmes play absolutely should have been a catch, he didn't use the ground for anything. It was a poor call, but had no impact on the game anyway because they just made up the yardage on the next pass.

Not sure, I still think it was incomplete but the play being nullified by the next play makes arguing over it pretty pointless :p (as you've already insinuated)

you guys played well tonight dude, i understand what you're pissed about. The pats gets away with a lot of shit and i always complain about that. But when it comes down to it the refs are completely blind. :/

Indeed. The Steelers played poorly all around aside from the 15 minute stretch that went from the end of the third to 5 minutes left in the game. Neither team looked impressive in the least, and the Jaguars need to get their shit together if they want to compete with the Patriots next week.

I'll walk away with my tail between my leg but believe me when I say I cannot wait for next week. Cocky Jaguar fans will be eating a healthy portion of Sauteed Crow, I'm quite sure of it. Until then I will simply say congratulations on your impressive win

Yeah all those cocky Jaguar fans!

Well duder, you should visit the Super Bowl 40 thread. Holy shit that thing lasted for WEEKS afterwards about Seagulls fans bitching about that game. I mean, understandable and all, but fuck.

edit:

harSon, fucking shit man. I'm a Steelers fan through and through, but christ stop acting like a 7th grader. It's a game, and they have the chance to win next year. Until then, throw some support for an NFC team (ahem Green Bay ahem) or another AFC team (ahem Colts ahem), or just leave this thread altogether.

not so fast.....waaaaaaaay back in week 5 i called jacksonville beating the pats at home and in the playoffs. ;)
After today, if they want to lose by less than 10 points, Garrard has to be ACE. That is, everything has to go right. No slip-ups.

Do you make shit up in your head? What cocky fans? We aren't rubbing it in your face, in fact, I'm very skeptical of the Jags after today, because they should have blown the Steelers out. If it was a blowout, MAYBE they would have had a chance. All signs point to "No Chance" right now.

I hate the mindset that refs should call less during the playoffs (especially the deeper it gets) because it somehow makes people think the teams are less "high level". Happens almost every game this time of the season.

I agree I'm a poor sport, I don't like to lose and that carries into all activities in my life. It's quite obvious that a good portion of those laughing at me would be in the very same situation, bitching and all, if the Jaguars had lost the game. Deny it all you want but the glimpses of a total melt down can be seen only a few pages back.

to be honest, Garrard played like complete shit. I was leaning towards the running game. :lol

You should save that asterix for the coach of the year and MVP awards.

As far as Steelers playoff losses go, I'm taking this one pretty well. They had no business winning in the first place, and I had accepted weeks ago that they would lose to the Patriots either in the second or third round of the playoffs. If the Pats lose at any point during the post season though (Which I don't expect to happen, I don't think their games will even be close) then I reserve all rights to be retroactively pissed off at lost opportunity.

just... wow....

Still, the two games aren't THAT comparable, and the Pittsburgh Foremans would get steamrolled in the next round anyway. :P

He does have a point. There were people talking about how the Steelers had the refs in their back pockets for a comeback win. This is why people need to shut up and take my stance of "The refs didn't make you lose, you did. Shut up and put on your big boy pants."

That, of course, includes any Steelers fan whining about calls.

You really think any of us have delusions about actually beating New England? :lol God you are a joke.

Do I really need to go through the last few threads and come up with a list?

I'm no Jags fan, but I like the way they match up. I think they have a punchers chance.

Yeah but is it really a surprise at this point? Someones upset about the refs during at least one game every weekend during the regular season let alone the playofs...

Well, any team can beat New England. But Pittsburgh probably is the least likely, next to maybe San Diego or the Titans.

edit: I mean in the playoffs that is

i don't dislike any team but the pats and i'm not exactly a fan of the jags. the only reason i rooted for them is because i see them giving the pats a better game. :/

The proverbial us was us jag fans, not us everyone on this board.

I do too, and of course I'll be rooting for them, but I'm not going to get worked up if the jags get beat. I just want to keep it respectable.

Yeah, I agree. If teams like Philly and Baltimore can push New England to the brink, I can see the Jags having a chance.

The Ravens showed if you can constantly put pressure on Brady from different directions you can get to him.... problem was the Ravens offense was incapable of scoring... The Giants did it better and could score... but they also showed.... you can't make ANY mistakes.

Bias aside, I honestly think the Steelers would have had a better chance. The Patriots will stack the box, making their offense one-dimensional, and cause Garrard to win the game. Something that he cannot do IMO. The Steelers, while inconsistent, has a much better chance in a shootout.

Out of the two tonight? Or the whole AFC playoff picture? I'm sorry, but the Colts are still the #1 team who can beat the Patriots. And that's what I think is gonna happen. Another Colts/Pats championship game, with the colts coming on top.

Yep, all the teams that actually gave the Patriots a game all rushed Brady very hard throughout the game.

No one can beat New England in a shoot out. The complete lack of a running game would have totally doomed the Steelers.

The Colts most certainly can. And I didn't say the Steelers would win it, I said they have a better chance in a passing oriented game.
