Those things suck! I had two for the Skins-Cowboys game. I started them up before the game in the parking lot and they did jack shit all game long. But when I got home and watched the Colts-Titans? By halftime of that game they were fucking red hot. I hate those things. Instant heat MY ASS.

Did you shake them for a few minutes after opening them? I use these all the time in the winter, including going to football games, and they always work great for me. It's not INSTANT heat, but they get to full heat in 15-20 minutes and stay there for hours.

This makes no sense. The weather should make it harder for QBs to put touch on the ball, and harder for receivers to catch it. We'll see on Sunday but I bet we see a lot of body catches. There'll be an increase in drops for those that try to catch with their hands/fingers.

The receivers know which routes they are running and can stride/adjust accordingly. Since defensive backs are necessarily reacting (thus not planning steps ahead) difficult footing makes these reactions trickier.

Dropped passes and touch may be heightened, yes, but I specifically noted route running. I am assuming someone like Al Harris, who has dealt with tons and tons of weather in his Packer days, and Woodson, who is old and savvy (and also played in Michigan) will be better equipped than the less experienced d backs, excluding Madison, who is from Florida and has played his ball in the south but has been in the league awhile so probably has experience in snow.

It's commonly accepted that "speed" teams built to play in dome stadiums (Moss era Vikings, Martz era Rams, recent Colt teams) gain a significant advantage when playing in ideal conditions, and are hampered more severely when playing conditions don't allow them to showcase their talents.

The reverse is also commonly accepted. Cold weather/poor conditions are ideal for smash mouth football.

I still favor the Packers in this game, but the poor weather hurts their team more than it hurt the Giants, imo.
 
now there's rumors that Dungy is going to retire and Caldwell (Assistant Head Coach) will replace him.

i think that's a good move. with a team like that, i think it's good to stay in house and not hire a guy like Pete Carroll :lol
 
Hahahaha, and at the worst possible time, Randy Moss delivers the sort of distraction in the locker room that people have been waiting for all year. I guarantee you if the Charger's win, they are going to blow this story way out of the proportion.

Madison got hurt that game. Left somewhere in between.

Dockery being absent sucks, but if Madison is a go that's a relief. Madison, Webster, and Ross (though dinged) is good. McQuarters is still a solid backup. Pope is a ST'er.
 
Firing chow is a stupid move by tenn. Doesn't matter who they bring in. Young has to respect the mental part of the game before he can become a good qb.

You say the same thing I say and everyone agrees with you, but not with me. Strange.

Further, footing affected? Unless the field is slick due to ice or snow, or it's slop like the one game in Heinz Field, I can't imagine that being that big of a problem.

during the snow the packers scored 21 points against the seahawks. If it isn't -6 degrees like the chicago game. I don't think it will effect the packs much.

So Jason Garrett is in for a second interview with Blank and Dimtroff. I'm not so sure I'm buying the hype on this guy. I'm starting to think it would be in our best interests to hire a defensive coach.

That is pretty much what the forecast was mid-week last week as well. I'd prefer snow to cold after the Chicago debacle, so I'm hoping they're about as accurate as the weather men normally are.

And weather.com is saying flurries on Sunday.

holy crap. 5° (like 3-4° by the end of the game) with 13mph winds... that is going to be a tough ass game. if snow DOES get in there somehow, it's going to be the second real ice bowl ever.

The good news is that it will be slightly warmer on Sun than Sat.

Sat is going to be 1 degree for the high. Sunday is 7. Ewww. Although by kickoff it'll probably only be 5 or 6 degrees.

Lows will be in the negatives both nights.

If you hadn’t figured this all out on your own already, the cold weather was a pretty hot topic in the locker room today (Get it? Cold weather … hot topic … see what I did there?). For a little perspective on the weather, though, let me take you to the corner locker of Rich Seubert, who grew up in the cheese state:

“The benches are heated, so how cold can it be?” Seubert said. “They’re saying seven degrees? That’s pretty warm. If it’s four degrees I’ll be happy.”

For what it’s worth, none of the Giants’ offensive linemen will be wearing sleeves on Sunday night. No matter what.

“You can’t wear sleeves,” said Grey Ruegamer, who used to play for the Packers. “That’s bull——. That’s for the skill guys to wear.”

Oh, and no heated pants … not even for kicker Lawrence Tynes. For the record, Seubert does own a pair of heated hunting pants, but he said “I’ll probably give them to my wife.”
