Ah yes... it is time. Time for my Falcons to run roughshod over the NFL on the way to their first Superbowl championship. Time for Michael Vick to throw for 4,000 yds and 30+ TDs. Time for Roddy White to explode. Time for Warrick Dunn to light it up again. Time...

...for me to wake up. I'll take a winning season and a trip to the playoffs, please.

How can you call yourself a Falcon fan and then pick the Panthers to win?

I also like how so far nobody is picking us to win. Keep up the good work GAF.

I may be a Falcon fan, but I am a GAMBLER at heart. So I'm not stupid. Sorry. :( Panthers are probably the best team in the NFC.

ok after a week of making some nice trades, pickups, and cuts the eagles really pissed me off today. we cut both gaffney and mccants for lewis? mccants has size and was great on ST coverage. gaffney is better than lewis any day of the week, esp on sundays. why in the world do we have lewis still on our team? i wonder if reid would have cut gaffney if we didnt bring in stallworth, considering he was our only attempt at improving at the WR position all off season.

and then to top it all off we let go of J.R Reed...the only one our team capable of returning punts and kicks. wtf this cut doesnt make sense to me.

The Colts have an unreliable running game for the first time in forever. Which means that Peyton is going to have to be the sole engine that drives that offense. The media hype has made this game into an EVENT, and I think we all know what Peyton does when that's the case, right? Oh yeah, grabs his throat and CHOKES.

From what i hear Gaffney was seriously underperforming. And McCants was good on Special Teams, but he is a one trick pony on Offense. I didnt like those cuts at first, but we really dont need 6 WR's, since the 6th wont be active every game. A nice Practice Squad WR will do fine.

JR Reed is really a KR, not a PR. As evidenced buy that hard ass hit in the Steelers game. Again, keeping him would mean 5 Safety's, and he wouldnt be active.

I do like the guy. He DESERVES to play somewhere after the comeback he made, but i think he needs a tiny but more practice and rehab. And we havent closed the door on him according the GM today

I was hoping Roderick Hood would get cut so I could see CB's reaction :lol

BTW, I fully accept a plate of crow for thinking Dayne had a chance at a 1,000 yd season this year. But the last laugh's on CB cause he drafted him!!

Wouldnt happen. Solid 3rd CB. You dont just cut good cornerbacks like nothing.

BTW, we did cut a number of the lower CB's, which means that its likely we would want to resign Rod Hood. If he wants to play in Philly, then it will get done

And i already dropped Dayne!

Panthers | Team could take a look at Dayne
Sat, 2 Sep 2006 21:56:19 -0700

Steve Reed, of the Gaston Gazette, reports the Carolina Panthers could possibly take a look at free agent RB Ron Dayne (Broncos). Dayne played with the New York Giants when Panthers' head coach John Fox was in New York and he could be the short-yardage back the Panthers are looking for.

...

Yeah, ok, call me when they actually do.
Here's the actual quote:

However, don’t be surprised if the Panthers consider working out former Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne, who was released by the Denver Broncos on Saturday. Dayne played with the Giants when Fox was in New York and he could be the short-yardage back the Panthers are looking for.

So basically it's baseless speculation on Reed's part.

Exactly, just like the Jags were possibly considering bringing in Kerry Collins.

Yup. The team with 3 quality QBs was looking for Collings.

i wouldnt say david garrard is "quality", id rather have collins personally as my backup

I was going to say that but it really depends on how the Giants put pressure on Peyton. The Chargers gave everyone the blue print on how to beat the Colts, now we all just gotta follow it. The only reason I give the Giants a shot is that between Strahan, Osi, Arrington, Pierce, and subbing in Kiwanuka, the pass rush can be lethal. With a running game that is suspect for the Colts, it should be feast and not famine for the DLine.

That said I am taking the Colts to win that game unless it rains here. :lol

welcome friend.

I forgot the MNF doubleheader:
Minnesota over Washington
San Diego over Oakland

I know both are the road teams, but I don't know if the Skins will come out hot like they did last year, and well, the Chargers are playing the Raiders...

Ok so did anyone know that Dominick Davis was out for the year???

Matrix? sorry man, at least you got....................................................Carr

THE RAIDERS CUT HE HATE ME
WTF
THERE GOES THAT XFL ATTITUDE

In other news, Darnell Bing is on injured reserve and the Pats traded for Doug Gabriel. Remember when I mentioned the Boston Sports Curse? Yeah, this is the first sign that it's come to the Pats. Who trades with the Raiders? That would indicate that they have young talent.

NomarTyme: Are you from Southern California? Because if you are I don't see how you can root for the mother ****ing Rams.

Why's that? When the Vikings move to LA, I still plan on being a fan.

That's too bad about Gabriel. I was surprised to see that move since he was our number 2 up until that trade. Gabriel had some good potential. Now the Raiders depth chart has a blank spot for #2 WR and Porter is still in as 2nd string. :lol

The Yahoo sports fantasy update I saw yesterday about Portis:

Sep 2 The Associated Press reports Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis' (shoulder) availability for the season opener is in serious doubt, according to head coach Joe Gibbs.

****in sucks.. He and McGahee were supposed to be my ticket to GAF Fantasy leauge domination.

BTW, remember this guy; he'll be a beast on our D-Line in a few years:

The Jets/Eagles game is on now. Why the **** is he so jittery. There will be no pressure and he is bouncing around like they are all over him. He overthrew every pass he did manage to get off, as rare as that was. A.J. came in and made him look that much worse by moving right down the field.
