Official PS3 Custom Theme Thread

I played around with the "sample" theme and created a very basic theme called "LightUp" which for some reason still displays the name as "sample" when I load it in my PS3.

It took me a couple of hours to change all the icons and create some basic gradient backgrounds. And I only changed the xml file very slightly to put my info in it. I'm not sure how to go about making screenshots. So I had to fake the sample image that's part of the p3t file.

If anyone can put a screenshot up I'd appreciate it. Here's the direct link, hosted on my server. (so please be gentle) :D

I combined the MGS4 theme with this DMC3 wallpaper, it looks pretty nice together since it matches up pretty well with the backdrops that Dante is standing in front of. I'd love to see a true DMC theme, but this is still pretty bad ass.

I missed this post before.

No, it wouldn't be better, because I'm a huge fan of the game.

And let's be honest. Any theme that's based on a comic strip is going to be too bright or busy for anyone to want to use.

But seriously, nothing against Windsor Mckay, but the artwork in the game is awesome, and so is the game itself, so that's why I wanted one.
 
Earthsoft PV3 I take it then? :lol Its sure getting around now :D

Sorry for any missing images in the OP, GAF sucked my bandwidth to nearly 200 gigs in the past 24 hours from just this thread and the Uncharted Demo one. It should be fixed now.

Added. Let me know when you've updated it so I can replace it with the newer version. Also if someone could get a propper screen grab so I can replace it in the OP, that would be great too.
 
Hmm. The MGS4 background does not work for me when I switch to the theme. All I get is a lighter background. The NeoGAF theme works though. What am I doing wrong?

Looks great but you are right, the white background makes the text hard to read. Still love it though.

Working on a Disgaea 1 theme. Redrawing all of the sprites. Going to have Laharl, Etna, Flonne, a Prinny and... er, some other characters for the main icons. It's been so long since I've played it.

Finished initial proof for Etna. Not sure if I should add shoulder straps or not. It wasn't in the original sprite, but there wasn't room, so...

Yeah sorry. I'm half-asleep and I thought you asked if you could use themes on the PSP. Then I noticed that you meant PS3 themes on the PSP. :)
 
There should be a site that compiles all user themes with accessible through PS3 browser links. I'm sure there'll be one soon, I'm just making this opinion public because I simply feel like it.
 
Thanks for the help with the name problem, m0dus. I fixed it. The updated file is hosted in the same place as the post above. Here are some poorly executed photos of my TV with the theme and the three included wallpapers. Please forgive the quality.

You have to create two directories first, where you have to put the themes in:

USB Stick/SD Card -> PS3 -> THEME -> *.p3t
 
Some pretty themes have been released so far, but am I the only one who HATES "watermarks"? I mean, the NeoGAF theme is teh pretty, but I can't stand the author's name in the corner (no offense, I just think that isn't nice-looking, same goes for all themes/wallpapers that do it). Would it perhaps be possible to make a non-credited version of the NeoGAF theme? You can still credit yourself in the Information window. :)

No offense dude, but I'm pretty nitpicky about that stuff. The above pic of AC is a good example of what I mean, can't stand that text in the upper left corner. Obviously I understand that the artists like sigs, but I always try to hunt down sigless stuff.

Yeah! Had to move my PS3 over to an older '32 Wega SDTV, My girlfriend was watching movies with friends on my Bravia! So it should be all good when I move it back then.
