Same here, I'm displaying in 1080i and it seems that the background is getting cut off, as if the resolution is too high.chubigans said:My backgrounds are coming out completely screwey. Any ideas? I have no idea whats wrong...

For reference, this is happening with the Neogaf one...I think the SotC is fitted correctly on my display.

And now off to bed for some much needed sleep. Took me about five hours to do.![]()
It worked for me with the sample theme.Marty Chinn said:It looks like the links that aren't the official sony ones are not working through the PS3 browser. I'm trying to figure out how we can get direct links to work so that all the good themes will be installable from the original post. If anyone can help figure out what's going on and what we need to change, that would be great.
Modus does it again. I'm actually using this version of the bg with the xmb highlighting vertical flare added to it along with the old/standard icons. Looks simple and great. Think I'll stick with this for now and then start cycling multiple themes with the xmb launch.m0dus said:
I think it's clear that pretty much all of us love this theme. Hell, it even makes the new Sony ad banner look more attractive. Nice work.m0dus said:Also, it will help to know if you people like it or not, before I jump on trying to do more![]()
Are you on a non 1080p display? Try reducing the image in your PS3 below 100% or resizing the bg with a program.Tieno said:I'm using your Neogaf theme m0dus and it looks great, too bad my TV cuts off a little bit of the upper left corner (NeoGAF text) and the lower right corner (m0dus logo).

I guess it is possible to change the notifications box (it's blue instead of grey)...
Not my picture. Someone needs to figure out how to make it more appealing or transparent.
Yeah. I just set it as the theme for my Japanese account. The original looks amazing as is, but I changed the bg to a 1920 x 1080 version of this photoacklame said:the sfre black and apple themes are awesome.

m0dus said:I'm lots of crazy. And having 4 250mb PSDs open simultaneously so I could work on all of them in tandem reminded me I need more RAM.
As far as the 360 bgs . . . let's just say, I'm in talks with some folks. And keeping mah fingers crossed.

as far as the final frame--I'm not exaaactly sure what you meanyou can see the background through his body.
Raist said:I think what he means is, here you completely see through Snake's body, as if it was just a perfect transparency effect.
In MGS2's intro (and in Predator, for instance. I mean the movie), when he goes camo, you can see through him, but the visual trick isn't completely perfect, just as if what is placed behind the camo'ed character was "mapped" to his body form. It looks a bit... "hazy", deformed
Dunno how to explain it :/
And I'm not sure it's easily doable either. But looking at what you're producing, I'm sure you can
Excellent work man.
m0dus said:ah. so I have to go back to the mesh you mean. :
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. it will require some more 3d work![]()
Best of luck with that. The more concurrent streams of income one can come by, the better.m0dus said:As far as the 360 bgs . . . let's just say, I'm in talks with some folks. And keeping mah fingers crossed.
I like the gradient and the end result of the different torso and lower body transition (including the current flowing through the suit - nice touch). I do, however, have to agree that if Snake had more of a mapped effect going it would be closer to the game. Thing is, short of having an actual 3D model to work with I don't see that being remotely "easy" to pull off. A good photoshop job would partially do the trick, if not ultimately lacking that pristine CG 3D pop. As an artistic take on the look, the translucent bottom + transparent upper is seriously well done.m0dus said:I'm actually proud of the final camo effect--seriously, is it at least close? It has been a long time since I played an MGS game, to be honest.
