I think that's part of the reason EA opted not to go with giving super-realistic options right-away - most players would end up chunking/topping/skulling/skying/shanking shots everywhere, on top of all the slices and hooks. It would still be nice to have the options for all that though. :lolMarvie_3 said:No kidding. :lol

It would be nice to have that kind of control. TW10 is just a bit hard for me. I play golf quite a bit in real life and it's hard keeping my wrists where I want. It's a lot different without the weight of an actual club to smooth the motion with. Plus my feet slip all over the damn carpet. :lol I'm sure it's something I'll get used to though.XiaNaphryz said:I think that's part of the reason EA opted not to go with giving super-realistic options right-away - most players would end up chunking/topping/skulling/skying/shanking shots everywhere, on top of all the slices and hooks. It would also mean we'd see pulled and pushed shots - in this game, there's only straight and some degree of curve. Accommodating pushes and pulls would also give more options with curving the ball. For example, there's no real way to hit a nice draw that starts going slightly right (but straight right, not a fade/slice) before coming back towards the left without deliberately aiming to the right of your target and then hitting your draw. In the earlier example, if you accidentally hit it straight you're fine. In the latter example, if you hit accidentally it straight you may end in the rough or worse.
Yeah, it took some time for me to get adjusted mainly because I was trying to find a variation of my golf grip that was comfortable around the remote. In my real golf swing I'm fighting a bit of a hook right now, and it's translating to the game as well. :lolMarvie_3 said:It would be nice to have that kind of control. My should hurt like hell after the first day. I played about 8 hours total that day. :lol I've been playing everyday and my shoulder stopped hurting about a day later.Captain N said:My shoulder is hurting me! I must've played about 5 hours in a row with Tiger / Wii Bowling / Grand Slam Tennis and Disc Golf. I've found that Motion Plus seems to work better with Tiger compared to Grand Slam Tennis.
My feeling is that you can probably do better, more easily, with less effort and less pain, with one hand. It's not very realistic though, so you might want to switch to two hands. Precision putting seemed especially easy with one hand, though I didn't try tournaments or curved greens.bjscott05 said:do you guys hold the remote with one or two hands? when I use one hand I always hit it straight and at 100, but when I use two hands I only hit it 80 or so. am I doing something wrong or is it normal?
I hold it with both hands. It's all about the position of the remote on your swing. I don't swing hard at all and I'm able to get 100% consistently.bjscott05 said:do you guys hold the remote with one or two hands? when I use one hand I always hit it straight and at 100, but when I use two hands I only hit it 80 or so. am I doing something wrong or is it normal?
Yes and yes.chaoticprout said:So this is better than the 360 version right? Is it realistic (for golfers)
You don't release B until after you do your swing and the ball is in the air.sparky2112 said:Jeez, anyone else having trouble with taking full swings only for it to turn into a practice shot? What the hell am I doing wrong? Is there a particular moment when you have to release B? I mean, I played a full nine holes, but probably ended up taking enough swings for 72. :lol
Both hands. I'm sure it'll be easier using just one hand.bjscott05 said:do you guys hold the remote with one or two hands? when I use one hand I always hit it straight and at 100, but when I use two hands I only hit it 80 or so. am I doing something wrong or is it normal?

Just remove the Motion+ while playing, and see how different it is. It is nowhere near the same experience, IMO.Ysiadmihi said:Is it just me or does this feel exactly how TW07 on the Wii did when using Motion Plus? I remember having to rotate my wrists left in that one or I would constantly slice and it's the same with Motion Plus.

The older game is not nearly as accurate in how it detects the clubface rotating. With M+, a few degrees off can mean the difference between a nice draw and a bad hook.Ysiadmihi said:Got to play for about 10 minutes before my batteries died (can't figure out how to do anything but a quick recharge on my battery recharger :lol ).

I've played TW08. Putting alone is night and day.Bog said:This is actually what I'm worried about. It seems like this is the first TW for most people in this thread. To the guys who played last year's, is there REALLY a big difference in control? Sounds like it mostly just controls power, right?

Narag said:Today's daily tourney is cruel. Bethpage Black and no putt meter.
Alex Anderson said:I accidentally posted my -2, oops. I was going to try againToo bad they let you retry the daily tourneys. It would be more realistic if you only got one opportunity and couldn't feel like you could play a whole 'notha round. I kept restarting until I got a birdie on the first hole
