I want to see thorium reactor power plants built. Are there any legitimate reasons why we shouldn't go that route?

By what I understand, there just are no existing designs for Thorium plants that someone can just pull of the shelf and start building commercial power plants. There are various groups working in the area though and this is a path that may be followed.

Sweet, another excuse for gas companies to raise prices today.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what I thought. It's even starting to look like a fucking pattern. This is like the third explosion/fire/mishap to happen this year, isn't it? There was one before the refinery fire in Richmond, right? Or maybe they're just reporting them as big news now.
