OK I just found out FlashForward got cancelled

I watched the pilot and couldn't actually name a single character afterwards. There was that FBI guy, the FBI lady, the head FBI guy, the FBI guy from Harold and Kumar...

I tried a could more episodes and the characters didn't get any more interesting, I stopped caring eventually.

Funny that LOST was so successful and FlashForward was not at all, considering that they were such similar shows. Slow-moving plot, very drawn out, everything is a total mystery, big character ensemble, flashes, etc...

It tried to be like Lost, then missed every single thing that made it successful.

It even had a kangaroo lol.

Except Lost was well-acted and not nearly as overwrought (hard to believe, I know). And I generally like Joseph Fiennes. I think it actually helped Lost that they began as a straight drama before introducing the weird elements, whereas Flash Forward had the incident in the pilot and then introduced Suspect Zero in the 2nd episode.

Also, Flash Forward looked so damn washed-out.

Even worse than the writing was the editing I saw in the first few episodes.

"Hey remember the flashforward from the beginning of the episode? Here it is again so we can beat you over the head with the reveation the character just had and kill some more air time. "

That was so dreadful.

For the love of all that is holy (and this is directed to everybody), STOP COMPARING ALL TELEVISION SCI-FI/FANTASY TO LOST. TV serials have existed long before LOST, and are going to continue long after.

I absolutely would not call Flashforward's events "a total mystery". Pretty much everything about the central mythology was explained in the first season except for the ultimate motive and distant history of the flashes. I also wouldn't call LOST "very drawn out" at least not after the first 2.5 seasons.

And if you are comparing the shows, there's a vast difference in their general production values. Also, LOST started with some great episodes, while Flashforward started with a bunch of shit, with all of its worst episodes loaded into the first 9 or so.

I watched the show, but I never liked it. It just had no direction, no real character development, and definitely had no interesting story.

They really aren't similar. FlashForward is awful and Lost is not.

The show got light-years better after the holidays... but man. The only reason I'm gonna miss it is cuz the shitty finale opened a garbage truck full of worms.

Sooooooo many unanswered questions!

Pretty much.

Saw the 1st episode and thought it was rubbish, the main character annoyed me too much so I never saw more. Apparently it got better, but meh.

Except it didn't have interesting or likable characters, good writing or directing, or Michael Giacchino's godly music.

This was the best show ever!

Guy on the right, is he a geek, or is he the one you are supposed to want to get punched?

Well, the smoke monster and the Polar Bear were there since the very first episode.

Was he in the Green Wing? I swear it was him. The Green Wing was amazing, though I nothing of this show.

I loved the show and I am extremely disappointed that it got canceled. I have learned over the years that the show I like seem to not last long, 24 being the exception.

I've made it a point over the last few years not to watch any new shows until they have at least 3 seasons. I've been burned too much in the past with cancellations. (I have cheated though with Lie to Me, Human Target and Luther).

Off Topic: Maybe I'm really dumb but I've never felt I had the ability evaluate "acting". Like I've never watched a network TV show or theatrical movie and thought wow that was some bad acting. I always just assume whatever the actor is doing (say not looking totally sincere in a sad scene) is how the character himself would behave in that situation. I mean sure if the actor's speech is abnormally disjointed, like they're reading from the script at a 1st grade level, then something is obviously wrong, but that doesn't happen on network/cable TV.

Man why is everyone so mean, it was fun show. What were people's major problems with it?

I stopped watching because of the bad science. My work is related to high-energy particle accelerators, which unfortunately became an important topic in the show. I don't care if the show wants to bend the truth about what is possible. It's a work of fiction after all. I'm already used to hearing a lot of unfounded conspiracy theories about the LHC. However the stuff they said was straight-up gibberish. Imagine if you were watching a basketball game and after a guy hit a three the announcer said "Great touchback! The Yankees are now up by 45 skyhooks!" Now imagine that the person saying this sort of crap is supposed to be some sort of ruthless black ops guy. It was impossible for me to take their fictional world seriously.

Lots of good shows get cancelled too early.

FlashForward was a bad show. Great premise, terrible character, wasted actors, terrible script, no plot movement... it was a mess.

So glad they didn't try another year with this piece of shit. Easily the worst scripted pilot I saw last year, cut it off 30 minutes in and never looked back. Worthless show.

This is the one with Takeuchi Yuko appearing, right? Never watched, but wouldve liked to see some of the eps. She's pretty.
