Someone explain their logic for these games release history?
Ken's Rage - 360/ps3
Dynasty Warriors 7 - 360/ps3
DYNASTY Warriors Gundam 3 - 360/ps3
Dynasty Warriors 7 XL and Empires - ps3 only
One Piece Warriors - ps3 only
Warriors Orochi 3 - 360/ps3
Ken's Rage 2 - 360/ps3
One Piece Warriors 2 - ps3 only
Not port begging but the inconsistency is annoying and more than a little illogical.
I think it has more to do with the times the games were released, and profit production. THe Mainline Warriors always got a 360 release, but their expansions didn't. They attempted to release some expansions on 360 (Like for Samurai Warriors 2, I believe it was), but they were download only. 360 also can't have a disk removed and inserted to "link" with a game in the same way as PS3.
Their Xbox releases have also been spotty in quality (Like how warriors orochi 2 had horrible framerate, same with Strike Force, I hear), so it seems like development on the system has always been hard for them, as well.
It seems like there was a time when Koei wanted to support both equally, but failing JP Xbox 360 sales make that less reasonable going forward. If they're going to make a port, they now have Vita and Wii U as an option, so 360 is less and less appealing.
Even though I have a PS3 (and Wii U) now, I'll continue to support the 360 releases of their games as long as they publish them in the US.
The 360 versions I am talking about usually made exclusive for 360 in the west. For example Warriors Orochi 3 did not have a 360 version in Japan yet I have a copy for 360 sitting on my shelf at home.
I remember having friends playing through it on my 360 friend list for months before a western release :|
Why no Vita version for NA or EU? That's what I was planning on getting it. Would love for a musou game on vita besides DW: Next
I'd wait for an official response on this, before ruling it out. Wouldn't be suprising if they wanted to make some money back on the PS3 version first, or, as mentioned earlier, release it around the time the PSN version gets a price drop, since they're basically the same game, this time.
