It really does seem like this is a major turning point in the series.

1. World Heavyweight title: Luffy vs. Lucci (and Spandam)
Outlook: Lucci has zoan powers and some other nasty skills. Spandam turned his elephant into a sword. But Luffy has yet to show what "Third Gear" is. We know who has to win - especially with Robin on the line - but it's going to be an ugly battle.
2. Intercontinental Title: Zoro VS Kaku (long nose)
Outlook: Zoro can cut anything, but now he's up against a guy who can almost fly, and who also has a new, unidentified devil's fruit ability. Zoro's likely to get beat up badly until he figures the ability out.
3. Cross-Gender Gimick Match: Sanji vs. Kalifa (uh-oh...Sanji's weakness...)
Yeah, you say, the good guys always win at this point. But Kalifa is deadly, has a new devil's fruit ability, AND is gorgeous, which basically makes her Sanji's worst nightmare. His only hope is that ginsu training...
4. MATCH TBD: Chopper vs. ???
Chopper will need to grow up more to be effective, and possibly even figure out how to take his zoan ability to second gear. But it's a good sign that he hasn't reverted in ages.
5. Tricks Match: Franky vs. Kukuro (zipper-face)
Franky is down two of his three cola bottles, but Kukuro is a real unknown in fighting ability. Still, he seems doomed against Franky given that his tendency to blab will likely reveal his weakness.
6. USOPP HAMMER MATCH: Sogeking vs. Jabura (Lucci's angry rival)
No preview could accurately describe this. SOGEKING!!
7. Cross-Gender Qualifier Match: Nami vs. Kumadori (Large, slow, face makeup)
Nami is outmatched in every fight she enters. Kumadori should likely be fighting somebody higher on the power scale. But her dial enhanced staff could change things up a bit.

ok i cant belive how much this forum lacks behind in the manga. chapter 406 bis available and you guys are talking about 390+. im not quite sure if its ok to post a link to the site that has the newest chapters so i wont ost it right now. anyway the obne piece manga rocks really hard.
is it because the people who read this on this forum don't feel compelled to clutter things up with "omfg! this week's chapter roxxrs!" each time a chapter comes out? although that's kinda how i feel after reading them.
both the anime and the comic are among the best things around these days... maybe because they're about the same thing...

So, I just got to episode 134. These are fillers, right? That curry cooking kid episode was pretty bad. How long do they last and are any of them worth watching? Are there any good Nico Robin moments in there?

135 is worth watching, but after that they're really awful. They end at 143, so you can just skip right to 144 and be fine (they actually get back to manga storyline at the end of 143, but they show it again at the beginning of 144, so it's fine).

blatantly obvious I adore OP and in turn adore Oda.
funny cos his style is genuinely unique, at first it was almost off putting but now I find his style probably the most consistantly wonderful. I mean, all the good and bad guys are so distinctive and full of personality, and the places and the world he has created is far and away beyond anything else.
I love the standout moments like when they all wave their hands in the air to show the x-symbol for vivi, or in enies lobby where they all gather on the rooftops with the bad guys on the other side, ready for a huge war. moments like that are just omgwtf awesomeness, luffy kicking arlong's ass just cos he made nami cry.
I noticed you liked hunter x hunter too, my 2nd fave of all time! shame the artist got ill and its hit some roadworks, but again the world created and the characters we've come across are so well designed.
3rd fave would have to be hajime no ippo, for the anime as i havent bread the manga, its on my to-read list of course.
Like we discussed in the other thread, i love One Piece too. Oda is a genious. But Berserk has the more and more awesome going for it too, and Kentaro Muira is THE manga artist, his drawings are just unbelievable. Miura's good, but isn't he REALLY slow with his output? Oda has to do this stuff every week!
Miura should be biweekly, but he likes to take breaks, so he is more like monthly. :lol With this level of drawings, it's understandable. Still, he released 31 volumes in 17 years, that's almost 2 volumes a year. He isn't a shonen drawer with his speed, but he isn't the Bastard guy either. And Oda is awesome, i get so pissed when people don't like his style so they say he sucks.

You mofos have good taste! Berserk and One piece are 2 best things in print IMO.
Sanji's line gave me goosebumps in that last manga I read.
And well berserk just keeps getting better and better. The damn thing has been going on since '89 and you still feel like it has an endgame.

As for ..."her", I think it's pretty clear she is a mermaid. Her jaw reminds me of those fish with the light ball in front of their head...anyway, Tom was aquatic based as well, and Oda has already gone into that stuff before with Arlong Park.
