OP trolls Rob Liefeld, gets owned, doesn't see joke.

Liefeld is legit an awesome dude who loves his fans and always takes a moment to hang out with whoever is around him at cons. His art may not be for everyone, but he's damn influential and he really is badass. Dude is pretty funny as well.
 
Actually OP now I'm curious. How old is this joke? Where did it come from?

I've spent the last 9-10 years on 4chan. Let me tell you I've seen every variation of an internet joke (ironic or not) to come around, and I can't seem to find "Be a dick to somebody then call it a joke" anywhere.

And if you're joke is supposed to be "Lol I'm only pretending to be retarded", let me remind you that the funny part of that comic is supposed to be the fact that someone is being a dick and he only just "thinks" he's being funny.
 
To the people not getting the "joke" (like there is one) is that Liefield is infamously a...not so good artist.

People routinely make fun of his art, with the OP probably thinking that it means basic insults can be accepted.

While I really like to joke about his art (the feets!), I really really feel think that Rob is a really nice guy.

The "He sucks but gets paid" thing isn't a joke, it's something lots of people say to him and about him in earnest

To be fair to OP, doesn't seem like he @ed Liefeld, which would be a huge dick move. Seems like Liefeld is just checking his name on Instagram regularly and invited himself into OP's comments.

Also while his art may not be amazing, it did help to define a decade of comic books and keep the medium relevant and spur on the movies you're gushing about.

The joke is that he draws shitty and is paid for it.

So we insult his art. Not the person. The fact that he continues to draw despite the immense amount of criticism he receives is actually both impressive and commendable.
