It's difficult to compare. Whilst neither are sims, one is more real than the other. Also, if you turn off aids in GRiD it handles a lot better. Your brakes lock up if you go too fast, no traction control doesn't allow you to slide around corners. It's a lot of fun, so I might buy it.

Does Naughty Dog not have two teams? We know about Uncharted 2, but what is the other one working on?

This has been what Kojima has been saying for years now. I am amazed people tend to forget. He is no doubt done with Meat Gear in general as is the Solid series (being the main guy behind them). He might produce, but he won't be the big guy anymore. If there is a new Metal Gear it will be the start of a new saga.

I've got a friend who is hardcore into racers, played the shit out of every series from Gran Turismo to Outrun. He loved the GRiD demo, and plans to get the real game.

So, I'm a little more inclined to believe him than you, and thus the GRiD score makes sense to me.

I'm a hardcore racer fan too, and I though that Grid is awful.

All aids off, hardest difficulty, professional on, I was going around the corners like in Ridge Racer, minus the fun, and colours.


It's a game with no soul in my opinion, at that aspect, it's even worse than NFS.
 
I'm not sure it's worth a 9, but I enjoyed GRID for what it was, an arcade racer. I like my cars to have quasi-infinite grip from time to time. :D

i also thought that the Grid demo was excellent. I look at is as a fun version of Forza plus much better looking and with some of the best damage in a racing game outside of Burnout. Grid carries the fun factor of Burnout, at least to me, but it also has a greater focus on racing than Burnout. I also kind of see it as NFS Prostreet done right. Obviously I'm glad to see it get a good score.

It was fun. Plus it has tonnes of content, great graphics, good sound, solid frame rate and awesome damage modeling.

Why? Focusing on 1 platform allows them to get the best out of that platform as well as not having to worry about whether or not something they do is going to run properly on another system.
 
Kojima is working on a game that isn't Metal Gear or ZOE - wasnt this snatcher on wii?

An Assasins Creed movie is being made - fuck you ubisoft. spend the money bug testing your games instead of funding uwe bowl!

Darkness was a decent game but nowhere near what I expected from Starbreeze after the awesomeness of Riddick on XBOX - horrible loading times, lousy controls/targeting, the tedious "break every lamp in the room/street" especially in the beginning of the game and some really annoying level design...Hopefully the second game will be much more polished than the first one.

I wouldn't expect much, the mag is total trash. Their Assassin's Creed review for example
Pros - "The best game on the PS3", "Endlessly Innovative"
Cons - "Er..", "Um.."

10/10

But hey I guess reviews like that could buy some excellent exclusives

Starbreeze are busy with Project Redlime. What is Project Redlime, you might ask ? Dunno, but it's worth getting marginally excited at the back of your brain about.
 
I thought this mag was also going to name the two big titles.

Oh well the MGS bits will give me enough pleasure and the sweet PS3 laptop.

Plus, is anyone else curious about the the Kojima interview when asked about the April fools video. he says,
everything will be revealed after 12 june. If you clear the game something's going to happen
. that was the bit in this issue that got me most excited. i am hoping
mgs1 on mgs4 engine
confirmed.
