Debit cards for life... I don't understand people who use credit cards all the time, it's so dangerous. At least with a debit card you know exactly how much money you have and can't overspend unintentionally.
.
What the heck? It is not dangerous unless you are incredibly irresponsible. Its nonsense for you to suggest a credit card is dangerous compared to a debit card. What is dangerous is people not keeping track of what they do and paying attention. A credit card is a tool, an incredibly good and rewarding one if you use it responsibly. People that pay attention will never spend a single cent of interest in there lives if they dont want to, and will reap a lot of rewards and make there fiscal life very easy.
I seriously think people saying "fuck credit" are either children or have no idea how to use money. No one is saying get a credit card and use it to its limit (or over), you use a credit card as a tool to in your budget, you pay it off. If you do it right you'll never pay interest, you'll never have to worry about fraud and you will always be in control of your debt. Be responsible people, dont blame credit for poor fiscal management. A free tool like mint is all you need to keep things in check.
Fuck credit, Live within your means man.
A credit card has NOTHING to do with with living within your means. Its a tool, one that can be abused. If a person chooses to abuse it, they'll pay the price. If they use it correctly its a good tool. If you use it correctly you'll use it like your debit card, every month you'll pay off it off and not carry a balance over a cycle. You'll gain rewards, you'll have the added security, and you'll not have spend a dime more then you were when you were just using your debit card!
Now why in the world would you use a debit card, linked strait to your bank account, when you could have the protection a credit card give you? Using a debit card is like having sex without a condom, your exposing your direct assets to all the evils of the world. Sure if you catch something Dr. Bank will likely be able to cure it, but for a few weeks/months you are going to be in pain.
