I frequented Whirlpool prior to coming to GAF and still post there occasionally. The site focuses on broadband but there are a variety of sub-forums, gaming being one of them.
 
regrettably, sonic fan games hq and moogle cavern even though i wasn't a furry

god, those were some dark days

I ended up doing it without permission lol. Ended up getting banned on one of my accounts for admitting I was 11/12.

Real shame that they were shut down. Felt really engaged in the community with being able to rank up. Also was nice to be able to have active discussions about many different Nintendo franchises, and systems.

I really didn't like the restrictive rules, especially when it came to FC's. Nintendo's FC policy sucked enough, let alone not being able to exchange them on their own official forums.

I think I recognize you though, my main account was/is generalbeatrix on both nsider and nsider2.
 
I posted on MFGG, but left because most of the users there were immature assholes who had no sense of humor. Fuck that shithole.

I was on the Telltale Game forums for quite a while, but left when their forum software turned to shit after they decided to emulate Reddit.

Same here. Before Nsider even existed there was Nintendo's Wind Waker forum called Hyrule Time Square that I signed up for on the day it opened. I got to be apart of that community from the very beginning til the very end.

When Nsider closed I basically lost my internet home. I'm still a little upset with Nintendo for killing them off. Those forums were a special place.
 
gamesarefun from 2002 until... maybe a year before it closed? Only other forums I ever really posted to were bottalk and old AOL boards, at least in any active sense.
 
My first forum was NSider, than a really small forum called Nintendo Revolution (I think it became Game Usagi eventually?), Then DSMeet, which later became ABXY.

Then GAF, then nothing else.
 
I posted on Rockman.EXE Online a lot, when the Megaman Battle Network series was actually going on.

Also I still post on

, which was a GameFAQS spinoff board.
 
I put in time on IGN, starting on GameCube General Board in 2002 when I was a GameCube-only guy. Expanded over to Xbox General in 2003 when I added Xbox to my stable. PS2GB later that year. Moderated briefly on Xbox GB in 2004 and 2005. Wound down my participation towards 2006, for the most part.

I used to post a ton on hlfallout.net in highschool...was the home of the famous "gone gold" post by Gabe (Gabe's password to his account on the site was gaben :/ )...used to have a few Valve devs on their from time to time...was pretty close knit, had a lot of in jokes and such...left once I went over to neogaf...sadly the site isnt as popular as it used to be, but most of the big folks still post

I usually post on foro vandal, which is a spanish gaming forum, the football (the real one, not american football) threads get really intense.

My forum use from probably around 2000-2008ish was mostly in RPG Maker forums, Dark-Dominion, GamingW, RPG-RMXP, RMXP.net, Game Maker, RPG Toolkit, etc. Sadly most of them are gone now, though you still have things like HBGames which I check into from time to time. For general game news and discussion though I frequented IGN forums a lot throughout the years. Plus the cesspool that is GameFAQs.
 
I posted on G4tv.com fourms from 2003-2006 regularly until I got banned. They had just lifted the rule about posting porn, but apparently you still couldn't post a link to it or maybe it vice-versa. Anyways, it was probably for the best, the fourms were starting to fill up with people bitching about the Tech-TV merger (takeover), and they were right to do so.
 
Bad Sonic fan forums filled to the brim with 'original character, do not steal' people. It actually was all kind of innocent though, but it just might have flown all over my head since I was really young.

After that, gamefaqs which was really terrible.

I was extremely active on IGN. Used to be one of the top posters on the site with around 75K posts, but the sweeping design change was so bad I stopped on top of all kinds of other dumb shit they kept doing. Only other site I really posted on seriously besides GAF.
 
I used to post on the old MLG forums, and was there as it slowly died out due to an ill timed switch to ipb and the death of competitive Halo.

Good times were had there, and I miss the old OT.
 
I come from the ONM (Official Nintendo Magazine) forums. Used to love it there. Battalion Wars 2 multiplayer league thread, Mario Kart Wii tournaments, it was awesome.
 
Used to post of Fires of Heaven, then slowly began exclusively posting to their screenshots (pretty much off topic) forum until I was banned :(
 
I still occasionally post on a star wars rebellion fan forum, and a few other oddball sites.

As for forums in general, I started out on the Swerve free for all forums, where mods and actual registration were negligble. Ive been banned from Sherdog so many times I finally got bored with trolling them. And before here I posted on a Sherdog offshoot filled with banned members.
 
Gametrailers forums and Koei Warriors forums.

I still lurk on the later for news on Koei titles, Gametrailers went downhill a lot though when they took away the factions and stuff. It's more or less dead now.
