I've been interested in this since I,read,about it on PS blog, but it being a Plus title is great news!

And to those concerned about Plus freebies making money, I liken it a movie production, but altered a bit: Sony pays the developer a nice fee for putting the game up for free on Plus, and they make their money back through PS+ subscriptions, which allow them to license more titles, which encourages more Plus subscriptions. In short, the developer has already been paid thanks to your subscription to Plus.

Also, perhaps the game uses the DS4's touchpad for looking around as an alternate to the right stick. Might explain the quick movements.

Some of animation needs slightly tweaking, for example, the way he grabs out for batteries is quite comical - otherwise it's looking and sounding rather good! I think it's especially good to see several decent looking survival horror titles making their way to the PS4 too ... I was starting to worry that most of them would be PC exclusive.

Super intense, I love the contextual "peek around the corner" mechanic [reminded me of Thief].

I'm way too much of a pansy for these types of games, but it looks great, great atmosphere.

looks really good, great use of filters/effects to simulate the camcorder & night vision mode. it's actually a bit disappointing that the entire thing isn't from the point of view of the camcorder (i.e the camcorder is placed on the ledge above & you watch your character clamber up through it) to make it seem like the entire thing is being watched back. tutorial & narrative could be issued up via the main character talking to himself/the camera, as if documenting & narrating the whole thing on the fly ala the blair witch project. i also think there should be absolutely no music during the game just ambient drones, perhaps the camera itself (great work on capturing the plastic-y creaks), air conditioning systems, electrics etc. i think that would be fantastic.
regardless, this seems really interesting & i liked a lot of what i saw.

How can it be one of the first PS+ games if it's a 2014 game?

They said at the press conference that there will be one free game per month for PS4 on PS+, including THOSE (picture). So it will come to PS+ but won't be the first of the free games.

I think Drive Club PS+ Edition will be the first free game, since it is designated as a launch title.

I'm not sure but maybe the order of the indie titles listed as part of the PS+ IGC is representative of their release order? I'd imagine they'd string those freebies out once a month. Don't Starve at launch, Outlast the following month (or a few weeks late)r, then Secret Ponchos.

Thanks for the links! Yeah, that's disappointing that neither Outlast or SP will be in the 2013 window. I can't really whine since I've got plenty to play on my PS3 and will likely be picking up Watch Dogs, Knack, and perhaps one more title this year (not including PS+ freebies) should a surprise be announced at Gamescom or TGS.

On topic, this game looks pretty good, especially for an indie. What I gather from the video, battery power is going to be a pretty limited resource, which makes for even more tense situations than limited ammo, etc.

Yup. One Plus sub covers both PS3 and PS4 (and Vita), so you'll get your freebies from both if you play with both consoles.
