Look Blizzard, I'm in the Gigantic alpha, in the Battlebord closed beta and in the Fable Legends closed beta. How I can compare the games without having access to Overwatch? Gimme a key.

... :-(

That feel when you have played and spent a shit load of money on every Blizzard game but still never get into their betas.

That feel when Overwatch streamers can't even get in full matches with the drip-feed invites Blizzard has sent out. Literally watching someone at this hour in a match with 4 people waiting for 8 others to join...

I hate you guys with beta access with the fury of a thousand suns going supernova. My Tracer figure is crying.

This was supposed to be my way out of Destiny.

So salty. Kappa.

Sad I didn't make it in since my time with the game at PAX was amazing. Hopefully when Blizzard sees people are having a tough time finding a game at offpeak hours they will open the doors a little more.

So I've played around 8 hours now, maybe 10..maybe more.

Really enjoying it so far. I love blinking around the big bulky guys and just wearing them down whilst they try to find and aim at you.

How's the game running for you guys ? Heroes of the Storm still have some issues (Low framerate...) for no reason sometimes on some pc's.

My PC is trash and the game runs beautifully. I get rock solid framerates even while streaming (I can't even stream stuff like Borderlands 2 without some hitching from time to time).

http://www.twitch.tv/theyanger/v/22759095 Can skip like halfway into see some actual matches going (first I did tutorial) and although the stream quality was hit or miss you can tell the game isn't hiccuping at all.

FeelsBadMan

Didn't expect to get in since I only play Hearthstone and only bought a few packs once but still.

I bought WoW and every expansion (some of them collectors editions).
I bought Starcraft 2 and Heart of the Swarm (both collectors editions).
I bought Diablo 3 too, and have been on Battle.net since the early early days.

Still no key. I think it's completely random, well, expect all the major streamers that get their keys no matter what. :/

Yes I'm a bit salty here...

This reads like every post on the Overwatch subreddit. Well, except for the self-aware part.

This was by design. Blizzard was contacting major streamers offering keys if they'd stream the game.

Goes almost without saying tho. It's no coincidence that big variety streamers and big streamers of Blizzard game X/Y/Z seem to always get access on first wave of invites, when beta for new Blizzard game starts. Extra help is provided by being part of F&F of Blizzard, and knowing someone from inside.

They have a huge VOTE going on, on the reddit page, last I checked it was at around 35k votes and only about 4% of them are in the beta.

This is the first game to go a big push on streamer. They definitely got notice that they'd be in ahead of everyone else, even F&F.

HotS also got a lot streamer and youtuber exposure early on into the beta, or do I remember wrong?

With Overwatch I think Blizzard really wants to push their new IP into spotlight so it gets exposure and traction among gamer communities. Personally I don't mind it that they are prioritising streamers over everyone else, but I know some people have gotten very salty about it.

HotS got a lot of Blizzard pro exposure early in the alpha. Hearthstone had a fairly strong streamer presence but also opened up extremely early into the process. Neither were nothing like the all out multi-game streamer blitz like we're seeing this time around.

the streamers they picking i hope they at least played some games from blizzard. i mean don't blizzard actually want genuine feedback though.

Didn't get into the beta, didn't think I would.

Curious to see how the game has evolved since BlizzCon last year; it played pretty nicely as it was.

I didn't get into the beta
However, I only have a Macbook Pro, so in retrospect, Blizzard not flagging my account makes sense
Still salty though

always get this confused with battleborn. they're similar right? just got in the beta for battleborn. is overwatch coming to consoles?

Overwatch be coming to consoles
Battleborn and Overwatch are similar in the fact that there are bullets and different characters

Basically Battleborn is Borderlands + MOBA and Overwatch is Blizzard's version of TF2

ah, i thought overwatch was MOBA-esque too?

I don't see many streamers bothering with posting feedback sheets and doing posts to forums. Blizzard employees most likely watch when people like itmeJP, Ellohime, inControl etc. stream, and they tend to talk about likes & dislikes during gameplay so Blizzard gets their feedback that way.

Also I'm kinda surprised if Lirik keeps coming back to Overwatch after first few days, he doesn't usually play any game that long excluding DayZ and Life mods as those are what established most of his viewer base.

Overwatch has MOBA-esque characters, but the game objectives are TF2.

Battleborn has MOBA-esque characters and the main game mode plays like a MOBA.

In the end, Battleborn is as mobaesque as Overwatch.
In other words, not a lot. There is no mode that plays like Dota/Lol, not even close.

Offtopic but is this game made with UE4?

So tired of seeing turrets everywhere. if I see Bastion go tank mode and blow like 4 people up as 'play of the game' again I'll be very sad.

I've never managed to get an actual email invite for any Blizz betas, I won keys for Diablo 3 and Hearthstone in contests Blizzard had. I'm happy they've done away with those, or I'd be f5'ing pages for days on end again, only to find they went up/out while I was at class or work. It was maddening.
