Holy shit how did I miss the new skins yesterday? I took a glance at a few pages and saw the old Legendary skins so I just assumed they weren't in yet.

Is it just me, or have people been playing worse since the patch? I just won a temple of anubis match with the other team near fully alive be standing on an uncontested point out of their Turret's line of site. There were like 3 players just hovering by the turret, 10 feet from the point.

Congrats on getting in.

I'm not aware of any guides. Sorry.

As far the unlock/rewards system goes, you get a loot box everytime you go up a level.
You level up from getting EXP after every match.

It's all pretty intuitive, easy to see objectives and you just get a loot box when you level up. If you want to get the hang of it in a practice setting I'd just play vs AI for a few games.
 
I'm in desperate need of some people to play with. I'm 11-20 since the profile wipe and I'm tilting almost every match. Pls help.
 
Play of the game feels borked right now. I have had two PotGs (of my 3 games played since patch) where it cuts off right before the majority of the kills in the play.

I've had some of the worst games since the patch came.

In other news. Finally got a legendary skin.

Naturally it was for a hero I don't play, and I don't even like it that much. (Widowmaker Odile)

On the bright side, you're going to lose it anyway. I'm terrified that I'll get something I really like then won't be able to get it again when the game launches for real
 
Haven't really followed the game at all since it was first revealed. How would you describe this game? Something similar to Team Fortress, different classes with special abilities(the "tank", the "healer", the "sniper", the "invisible spy" etc.) and different objectives to complete as a team?

The biggest similarity to TF2 is in the map objectives. Cart pushing is focused on a few maps, "king of the hill" point control on others, attack/defend on others. Match to match, the structure will remind you of TF2 instantly.

The heroes follow some of the same archetypes as the classes in TF2, but there is no 1:1 equivalent to any of them (except maybe Mercy who plays a little too similarly to Medic IMO). There are "tanks" and "healers" but multiple ways to accomplish those things. A lot of the heroes have pretty unique ways of playing. There's a lot of heroes with mobility abilities and most of the maps feature verticality.

Had some fun games with Mobius last night. He carried us as Roadhog a few times. I need to add more fellow Overwatch-GAF members to my friends list. Maybe we can get a full group together at some point.

I also continue to get lucky with legendaries. Opened my 5th one last night. I'm only level 24. Pretty sure this means I won't be opening any legendaries once the game launches.

May can't come soon enough. I miss flying around as D. Va :(

(I was in the weekend beta from a few months ago. Every time the game gets patched I get baited into thinking I got an invite)

I've seen you online before but never partied up with you. I generally play solo queue since I don't know if I'm being a nuisance by inviting other people to a party.

Pretty cool, especially since Roadhog is one of my most played heroes. The previous legendary I got was just a bunch of cash, so I'm at 980 coins right now. With a few more duplicates I'll be able to buy any legendary of my choice, which is kinda nice. Need to figure out what that will be.

Played two games on the new Ilios map today - it's pretty fun. I love the Santorini aesthetic and the maps have some cool paths and layers to explore. I much prefer the bright and sunny design of this map to the dark and gloomy look of some other maps (Dorado, King's Row), so I hope we see more of this type of map in the future.
 
I checked my battle.net today, and have the option to install "PTR:OVERWATCH", but I get an error when I do. Anyone know what thats about?

Its for the open beta in May. Blizzard has some hella prompt customer service.
 
I don't know what the hell is going on in Overwatch-ville today but I lost 9 of the 11 games I played today. What a miserable experience. This game is at its worst when you get thrown into blowout after blowout after blowout.
 
Saw the thread and it reminded me to go through and check my emails. Had one from last week in there with an invite!

Lookin' forward to downloading and checking this out. It looks and sounds fantastic.

Lucky you. Last night I was 14-8, and right now I'm 19-22. So I lost 14 of the 19 games I played today. I've actually been pretty annoyed with the matchmaking ever since the patch 2 weeks ago that made changes to the algorithm. As you can imagine I'm not too thrilled, and I'm actually debating not getting the game if the matchmaker stays like this into the final release. I've already canceled my pre-order, and I'm basically waiting to see how the matchmaker performs during the open beta. At that point Blizz can no longer use the "low population" excuse for why their matchmaking is so shit, and I'll make my decision then.
 
everytime this thread gets bumped. I get a littttttle bit salty. Atleast my pre order from months ago is going to come in handy at some point. I miss playing this game a lot. At least I got street fighter V to hold me over.

It's hard to say how the matchmaking is working for me but so far I'm hovering around 50/50 which I guess is it acting correctly. I notice that I regularly get paired with groups of an average level 50+. Not sure if that says good things about me, bad things about them, or nothing at all. Just something I've noticed.
 
I thought the matchmaking was okayish until the reset, was a bit over 50% win ratio after over one hundred matches, but I've had some horrific luck post reset. Got put with a lot of new people, there must have been quite a lot of waves recently.
