Overwatch Characters Who Should Star in the Next Animated Short?

Zarya is in HotS now, so it's probably going to be her.

Junkrat, wasn't there some info about him on how he knows some incredibly important secret that he found in an omnium, which is why a ton of people wanted to kill him so he hired Roadhog?

I want to see that.
 
Sombra is the obvious answer since she will be new, although I'm not sure if hers will just be a gameplay cinematic since Ana's was.

The most interesting back stories to show are Zarya, Reaper, Genji, Mercy, and Mei.

McCree, Reinhardt, Ana, Soldier 76, Torb, and Symmetra were sort of explained in the comics. I'd like to know about Reinhardt's tale regarding the war though. Also I don't know if you guys really want a Symmetra cinematic since she was so deep into politics in her comic and had very little action.
 
Didn't the whole MercyxPharah only happen because they work well together gameplay wise?

Anyway I want a Roadhog and Junkrat shenanigans short.
 
Genji and Mercy are the only ones who have voice lines about each other when they die

I dont think pharah and mercy have any interaction outside of talking about Ana.

Someone forgot Genji and Zenyatta also having death voice lines
Though let's avoid that fanfiction (the ball jokes would never stop)
 
D.Va is easily the least interesting character in the game. Anyways, I'd like Symmetra to have an animated short.

When they actually die as friendlies or when they beat each other when they're enemies ;)
But Tbf Genji x Zen is probably the fourth most popular ship

No, I'd rather they not pander to the shipping crowd. When you do this you end up with terrible writing like Arrow's Felicity+Oliver and also Avatar Korra's out-of-nowhere ending. Writers need to stick to their guns and just make good stories, not last minute fan fiction come to life.

Genji has a voice line for killing an enemy Zen and seeing an enemy Zen die, as well as Zen having specific voice lines when he puts a Harmony or Discord orb on Genji
 
I think the problem I have with the Genji x Mercy ship is that the types of people that play those two characters are at complete ends with each other.

When I see GxM ship fanart, I see a helpful player using teamwork fawning over a weeb doing front flips against a wall.
 
I doubt it's ever gonna happen since we already got a Genjo one, but I like the idea of something involving Zen and Genji after the latter left Overwatch.

I would love to see this, but we already got a comic. Seems kinda redundant right now.
 
I think the next animated short should star D.Va, Mei and Mercy, and it should be set in a hot spring.

it's just like one of my japanese animes
 
They made one based on fricken Bastion, and it was great. Therefore they have to make one for every other character now.

Reaper does not have one. Recall was Winston's short, Reaper was merely in it. The other one he was in, Museum, was an assemble.
 
Junkrat and Roadhog. It's the best one to make next to offset the tone of the Bastion short. But if anything I would like a short for every new character.

I mean, it's canon that they have a "relationship," in so far as being master and pupil. So that's not shocking for them to have lines about each other. Genji and Mercy's lines seem a bit more noteworthy than those.
 
D.Va, please.

I like shorts that focus on heroes other than the Overwatch members. I mean, I get it they're important, but Soldier, Reaper, Ana, Rein, Torb, etc... but boring.

Lucio would be cool. Or Mei. Maybe Symmetra, but I think she has her own comic.
