Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures hits Wii U VC this week

It's practically a point-and-click adventure with very interactive environments, which is something I think is pretty unique for a 1994 console release. Basically, instead of the cursor directly controlling your character, it affects the environment. Pac-Man reacts to what you do and you use that indirect, non-verbal communication to complete tasks. You can also use 'Look' commands to influence where he moves and what he notices. While it's not very long the game world has a certain depth that makes exploring fun and often amusing. There's a lot to play around with. Personally I think it's brilliant but most people think it's bad because it's not a "Pac-Man" game.

Huh, that actually sounds interesting. Thanks.

I love Pacman 2. It was one of the first SNES games I bought with my own money. Took me quite a while to finish, too.

Nowadays it's relatively easy, and the added bonus of hidden 16-Bit versions of Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man just make that deal even better.

Wait what? That's good to know!

I rented this a couple of times back in the day. It's definitely worth checking out due to how unique it is.

How to those look? SNES-style graphics?

Wow, the OP wasn't kidding when he said Pac-Man in this game was incredibly smug. I think I might check it out now, just to see what he's capable of in this SNES game.

The first game I played on the Genesis, years ago. Great animation and color, catchy music. And yes. Pac Man is an ass.

I love his enraged walk:

I remember renting this at Blockbuster many years ago and being kind of excited about not knowing what to expect. And after I played it, I was really just as confused.

That said, this game is such an odd relic I may pick it up if it shows up on NA's VC.

They basically look like the originals, but with added 16-bit shading.
So better, in my opinion.
Also the in-game sounds are basically the same, while the cutscene music has been touched up a bit.
That's for both Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man.

I'm trying to find screenshots but I'm coming up empty, sorry.
Here's the sprite sheet for it, though.

Could you two also stop sending each other love letters through YouTube music videos?

How long did Pac-Man stay in this character? Sassy Pac-Man kind of falls in between my radar haha, right between classic Pac-Man/Pac-Land and 3D Pac-Man (who resembles the Pac-Land model)/Ghostly Adventures shit

This man is correct.

I love this game. It might not be a very long game, but when I was a kid I would always get stuck and decide to restart so it took me months to beat. I'm not sure how well it holds up, but I remember amazing music, amusing scenarios, in game Pac-Man and Mrs. Pac-Man (I think?).

The crowning jewel of this game are the amazing animations. Pac-Man is so expressive and watching him move around the world is hilarious. Worth buying for sure.

Edit: This thread reminds me that you are essentially managing Pac-Man's emotions by interacting with the environment or pelting him with a sling shot. It's a really unique game.

That actually sounds pretty neat. I love games that are just kind of weird and off-the-wall. I might actually buy this if I can allot money for it, haha

More interesting than Zero Mission, definitely

It also has an awesome soundtrack and really nice visuals, especially for a SNES game.
The main theme got stuck in my head yesterday... which was weird considering I have not played this in quite a while.
Maybe it was a sign.

But seriously this title is one of those games that you have to try out just to see how absurd the whole thing is.

Because the title doesn't reference specific region at all and the body of the post contains no evidence to say that it WON'T be released in NA.

Sure, but it sounds really strange to me to assume things based on no evidence, just because there is no evidence for the opposite.

Kind of like complain about things you think people will do, because there is no evidence they won't do those things, even though there also is no evidence they will.

I hated this game as a kid because I sucked at it, and my dad yelled at me because he spent money on a game I did not want to play
