Pachter: FUSE will sell 5m copies or higher

He says: "[Insomniac] has never sold fewer than three million on PlayStation only, so one would think five right off that bat."
I also noticed he applied the same logic to the Respawn game that nobody knows absolutely fucking anything about.

Eh, these are a few of the guys who made Call of Duty. I bet their next game sells 15 million if it's good.

SO FUCKING FULL OF SHIT.

I love insomniac, they have the best track record for awesome weapons in the industry. But I don't think it will do that good. Not in its first 2 years at least.

Well, I'm fairly sure he's factually wrong on the premise he's basing his conclusion on, so I think it's safe to assume that his conclusion will prove to be rubbish as well.

This guy is an asshat and is probably making his career off of intentionally making wrong predictions now to troll everyone. I mean, no successful analyst could be this ignorant.

Yeah, I don't understand if Pach means Destiny's multiplayer is limited/subscription driven in a separate sense like WoW/a necessary COD-Elite package, or something else....

I do agree that if it has that, it'll see fewer long-term subscribers, console fans aren't used to HAVING to shell out extra money like that. It'll be interesting, I suppose.

On the FUSE side...well, I don't think it'll do under 500k as some have said, but 3-5 mil?....I'm not betting on it.

Hes been saying activision will make CoD multi a mmo type subscription for years, it's just a a thing with him where WoW makes so much money from subscriptions that everything thats popular should follow the same model.

Crysis would be the stand out performer of their fully published line-up.

And it is at the moment the most pre orderd game for the EA Partner Program. So the rest is just hanging behind with a carrot on a stick or just it is somewhere in damp, small cave waiting to see the daylight but before that happens..we will never know.

Borderlands got a lot of shit before launch, and it went on to sell nearly 5 million copies. So it's not impossible, but I really don't see this happening.

At least with Borderlands people were talking about it, one way or the other.

The game will sell due purely off of the negative PR it's been getting. So I guess it's a win win.

The negative PR?

Sorry, the only negative reactions have been on gaming communities. The press has loved the game so far. Oddly enough, they've also played it. Crazy how that works.

Yeah, I know that, I remember watching an interview (or maybe reading one of his posts here, not sure) where he said exactly that, but it's... still wrong.

Well, if he can make a living out of it.

This thing he said publicly seems wrong. But EA just announced a bad quarter and it stands to reason that he might say some positive things to buttress the stock. Then he can advise his clients to sell before FUSE even comes out.

I know this sounds conspiracy theory-y, but all I am saying is look who pays him. Investors. What do they pay him for? Certainly not for public statements like this. Everything any Analyst or Research Firm says should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Funny you mention Borderlands. He predicted that the first Borderlands was sent to die and would fail miserably.

He says he thinks it's going to be single-player with a subscription only multi-player.

People should watch the video before posting.

You're like super cool now, thanks for that. I did watch the video actually, but I'm sorry my comment wasn't 100% accurate for your liking. I'll type up a thesis stating I watched/read the material next time so the accusation police don't show up.

I'm really getting tired of that generic comment, just correct the person who mis-heard, damn.

He low balled RDR by about five million copies too.

I'd love to get his actual private release things to see if he's just trolling or he tells them the same things.

Funnily enough, Pachter said Borderlands was sent to die.

I'm not trying to lend credence to Pachter. I'm just saying the game isn't a guaranteed failure.

And I wasn't trying to say that FUSE is done for. I was just reinforcing that Pachter public (emphasis on public) discourse is just whacked. You mentioning Borderlands as an example just made me remember that Pachter trivia. hehehehe
