No WiiU or Vita in the top 40 by units this week

Not suprising - nothing new was released and Vita deals are over with prices going back to 200 pounds.

Soooo tempting to talk about chavs.

The point was that in a country of 64 million, the chart toppers couldn't even budge a million units for the year. People moaning about the Wii U launch are in for a huge shock when the next PlayStation and Xbox launch. The kingdom has moved on.

The discussion has been kept afloat by the fact that no numbers were given, only places. Well at best the third-ranking game could have only done just 125,000 units a week... and it only goes downhill from there.

Yep, seems those were released, but if it was this Friday just gone then next week will be a better indicator of how they sold.

Nothing new for Vita this week, and it seems most bundles are £210+ now, so I don't expect any chart entries until there's a big new release or a price drop.

I very much doubt either will chart, small install base and games already out on other platforms and more expensive to boot.

So last year was it 5 individual SKUs over a million (so Cod x 2, FIFA x 2 and something else), or 5 SKU combined games?

I imagine it is the former, but this years chart is presented as combined.

I think youre in for a shock

Chavs are exactly the type of folks who would send their kids to school with a pack of crisps so they can buy a 720/ps4 and play fifa with their mates on their huge hdtv while wearing primark sweats.

That's assuming the normal sort of early adopter market is there for Wii U though.

That's assuming the normal sort of early adopter market is there for Wii U though.

I really don't see the Wii U having the technical image to attract an early adopter consumer. Unless one thinks that the people enthralled by Oculus Rift would be compelled by a touchscreen controller.

I think at this stage it's selling pretty much solely to the core Nintendo fan.
