UK :

Nintendo manage to avoid any banana skins with ‘Mario Kart Wii’ sitting pretty at the top of the All Formats Chart, only dropping 22% in sales in its second week.
The All Formats Top 5 consists of games by 4 different Japanese publishers (Nintendo, Sega, Sony and Konami) and with the exception of ‘Gran Turismo 5: Prologue’, down one place to No3, they are all selling the strongest on Nintendo Wii. Nintendo’s format is due to get a further boost next week with the release of ‘Wii Fit’, but in the meantime it is EA who have the highest new entries thanks to the multi-format ‘UEFA Euro 2008 Austria-Switzerland’ debuting at No8 and ‘The Sims 2: Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff’ on PC at No20.
There are six games in the All Formats Top 30 that feature either Mario or Sonic and the duo’s Olympic Games title is still performing well, swapping places with GT5, up from No3 to No2. Konami’s ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2008’ holds on to No4 for a 4th consecutive week despite pressure from retailer-promoted ‘Sega Superstars Tennis’ which rises 6 places up the rankings to No5. Retailer Wii hardware bundles help boost ‘Rayman Raving Rabbids 2’ back up the chart, this week’s highest climber up from No32 to No22.
The only other Top 40 new entry is the first gun-game for PS3, Sony/Namco’s ‘Time Crisis 4’, shooting its way in at No24.

Uncharted nooo.

Mario Kart yaaay.

I'm surprised by 42 All Time Classics' position as I've not been able to find this game at all lately. I was hoping to buy it for my mom but couldn't find it from 4 different game stores for a month, so instead she got some Sega clone.

Looks like Sega's Tennis ad campaign is working for them, I barely watch TV but see that damn commercial every time I do.

Wow at Wii. The weighted charts should be very interesting.

Nintendo's domination is increasing.

This is disruption at play, people. There's more to it than merely a Blue Ocean.

Hooray for Maths Training - must be a TV ad for that I've missed.

Not a bad title actually, was going to make a thread but I guessed no one else would actually care...

Nice to see MK at no 1 still, was selling by the bucketload and had two restocks this week - hope charttrack release the %age decrease this week (or increase?!!).

(1) Countries with ALL FORMATS Charts only (so basically GT5P competes with titles released on multiple platforms)
(2) Data for Weeks 13+14 and 15+16 only.
(3) GT5P was released on friday of Week 13 but NL charts stop on thursdays. Thus Week 14 should be considered as its release week for NL.
(4) Charts published with a 1 week (ITA, NOR, SP) or 2 weeks (FR) delay

I wonder if it is because of the bundle? I would imagine the demographic of the GT5 player crosses over with that of the GTA player, so the Prologue bundle would be a good way of getting your PS3 early and playing GT5:p before the release of GTA...

Cheers - i'm firewalled!

By my rough estimations thats 350,000 copies of Mario Kart sold in 9 days. More than any GC game ever did in the UK (off the top of my head).

Ouch.

Why does someone mention Uncharted every week?
If you see it in the Euro charts enough, even without numbers you can purport loooong legs. Even though it hasn't done 200k in the UK yet.

I do believe that official bundle sales are not included in this as well. So GT5:p may be selling even better than shown here.

I wonder if it is because of the bundle? I would imagine the demographic of the GT5 player crosses over with that of the GTA player, so the Prologue bundle would be a good way of getting your PS3 early and playing GT5:p before the release of GTA...
Well:

- It's Gran Turismo
- Bundle Deal
- Game is just £18-20 at most retailers

Is it just me or is the text summary wrong? GT5P & Time Crisis placing specifically.
All Formats / All Prices. In particular, I think they combine Mario and Sonic sales on the Wii and DS.

Impressive MKWii performance - only a drop of 22% after a massive first week.

Good to see PES Wii staying strong.

Pretty good debut for TC as well. England not being in the EC seems to have seriously hurt games sales - oh well. Wii software and SST esp. makes a big jump - seems MKWii does bring some new customers in. Too bad SMG is nowhere to be seen :(.

Text is not for the individual format (units) we go by.

Uncharted nooo.
This is not the first week Uncharted is absent from the charts - or did you expect it to re-chart?

Football Manager 2008 doesn't get enough praise on GAF's PAL threads. Well deserved for one of the greatest series in gaming.
