UK :

The biggest All Formats No1 ever ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ from Rockstar/Take 2 puts a stop to Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ workout, replacing it at the top and outselling it by over 9 to 1.
Released across Xbox 360 and PS3, GTA IV almost breaks the 1m unit barrier in under a week, recording an estimated total market figure of 926,000 (£39.9m) over 5 days. 61.2% of the value of all software sold this week was for GTA IV, which itself is bigger than the total software market figure of every other week so far this year (apart from week 1). After releasing a revised estimated day 1 figure of 609,000 for GTA IV, Chart-Track can now reveal that the actual estimated total market figure based on full EpoS data from all retailers comes to 631,000 units. In under a week GTA IV has sold more units than every other title in 2007, except ‘FIFA 08’, ‘Brain Training’ and ‘Call of Duty 4’.
In the face of low stock, sales of ‘Wii Fit’ are down 58%, dropping from No1 to No2, while sales of Sega’s ‘Mario & Sonic’ remain stable, holding at No3. Nintendo does not have ‘Wii Play’ stock issues this week as the remote-bundled title shoots back into the All Formats Top 10, up from No15 to No4. The wheels have come off ‘Mario Kart’ as it drops from No2 to No5 (-61%), ahead of ‘Gran Turismo 5: Prologue’ which falls 2 places to No6 (-2%). Sega are the only company to release an All Formats Top 40 game in GTA IV week with super hero film tie-in ‘Iron Man: The Official Videogame’ new at No11.

Just out of interest form the last thread i decided to go have a look for GT5P (Australia). This game has vanished, I've been to around 9 stores (EB, Big W etc) and can't find a copy anywhere. There are absolutely no indications in store that this game is even out. So i guess it really is suffering from massive shortages over here.

I saw it in stock all over Hull and Nottingham. Some places were sold out but some places had some in. MKWii is more unlikely, I managed to find a copy hiding in a John Lewis, which was the only copy I could find anywhere.

Still I expect both to be in the top 10, probably top 5.

The article says that Wii Fit was the most given present for mother's day (incredible), it also says that Wii Fit is sold out in Spain, and it has broken the record of Brain Training last year.

It is the most selling "add-on" of ALL TIME in Spain in only one week, it has sold even more than the "Fernando Alonso wheel" which had the previous record for an add-on in 2005.

I don't understand spanish so I can't confirm this.

GTA4 as expected, Wii titles doing extremely well, some old 360 games appearing on the chart - I guess GTA4 release did push quite a few of 360s. I'm interested to see percent split for GTA after several days - one retailer said that PS3 version did better in the last few days.

Yea, it definitely looks like the 360 got a nice push in the HW department even in light of the PS3 bundle, which I figured would happen. I bet the HW is close overall for the week. Is there a blurb for this week? I assume 360 GTA IV is now outpacing the PS3 version pretty good with the HW base out there, which also makes sense from that one retailer from a few days ago stating the 360 was pulling ahead.

Goddamn, surely Nintendo must have NSMB2 almost ready to go that game just will not die. Also good to see PES Wii with some great legs. Konami deserve some massive props for actually thinking about how to get the best controls out of the wii.

And 360 Hardware moved (bet most of those games like VIVA and FORZA were taped to the boxes...) but no PS3 games in the top 40 went up or reappeared? I'm thinking the GTAIV bundle sold, but due to the price not much else did!

Ed: Value CHart shows a few more PS3 titles including a small spike for Fifa08 but I guess the new PS3 owners didn't get as many titles initially as new X360 owners did.

The biggest All Formats No1 ever ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ from Rockstar/Take 2 puts a stop to Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ workout, replacing it at the top and outselling it by over 9 to 1.

Released across Xbox 360 and PS3, GTA IV almost breaks the 1m unit barrier in under a week, recording an estimated total market figure of 926,000 (£39.9m) over 5 days. 61.2% of the value of all software sold this week was for GTA IV, which itself is bigger than the total software market figure of every other week so far this year (apart from week 1). After releasing a revised estimated day 1 figure of 609,000 for GTA IV, Chart-Track can now reveal that the actual estimated total market figure based on full EpoS data from all retailers comes to 631,000 units. In under a week GTA IV has sold more units than every other title in 2007, except ‘FIFA 08’, ‘Brain Training’ and ‘Call of Duty 4’.

In the face of low stock, sales of ‘Wii Fit’ are down 58%, dropping from No1 to No2, while sales of Sega’s ‘Mario & Sonic’ remain stable, holding at No3.
