The third installment in Warner’s Batman: Arkham series debuts at No1 (as did the previous two), entitled ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ (developed in-house by WB Games Montreal) and sells almost exactly the same in week 1 as the first in the series ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ (Sep 2009, developed by Rocksteady, published by Eidos).

The defining title in terms of week 1 sales was the second in the series ‘Batman: Arkham City’ (Oct 2011 with close to double the week 1 sales of the third installment, also developed by Rocksteady, published by Warner). The all-time best-selling Batman game in the UK is ‘Lego Batman: The Videogame’ from 2008 (published by Warner, developed by Traveller’s Tales). Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘GTA V’ (-28%) drops to No2 followed at No3 by EA’s ‘FIFA 14’ (-21%) and at No4 by Activision’s ‘Skylanders Swap Force’ (-50%). 2 titles climb back in to the Top 10 this week thanks to a successful hardware promotion: Warner’s ‘Lego The Lord of the Rings’ climbs 11 places to No8 (+266%) and Mind Candy’s ‘Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed’ climbs 20 places to No9 (+350%). Ubisoft debut at No15 with ‘Rocksmith 2014 Edition’, EA debut at No18 with ‘The Sims 3: Into the Future’ and Activision debut at No27 with ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’.

I already forecast 3DS SKU won't chart at debut, due to being released later and the fact that, while it has Nintendo audience, Japanaese games audience and a part of the children audience, it lacks in the Western core audience, even more than Vita (at least, Vita got Assassin's Creed and COD last year)

It's probably more than 1,000 units. Going further down the chart, differences become less and less pronounced.

I saw the 3DS version on shelves when I went to pick up the Vita version (Switzerland here), but according to the internet it was delayed. Huh.

Considering how godawful this game is, this is still too high. Nintendo has a fantastic end of the year line up, but this mix of incredibly luck-based gameplay and junk-minigames is definitely the low-point of the year for Nintendo's line up..

Surly Chart-Track is the one combining SKUs under the guise of "But they're called Bat Man. If they are different games they should be named as such". Fifa is a similar situation (but even the "legacy" 3DS version is bundled into the rest, so subtitles don't count). Meanwhile, Pokemon are different...

It would make things a little confusing if 2 Batman were to be combined and one was not while Pokemon XY get combined for their differences. That aside, there is the individual formats charts and this Vita Batman game was 3% of the sales.

That's an interesting one as you'll have the pedometer, the retail disc, and the retail disc/WiiFit board combo. No idea how they'll even market this thing, presuming they even try to.

I assume that it will be kinda hard to track its performance. There's a 1-month free trial when it launches, and the majority of sales will probably come from Fit Meters, which activate a digital version.

I already forecast 3DS SKU won't chart at debut, due to being released later and the fact that, while it has Nintendo audience, Japanaese games audience and a part of the children audience, it lacks in the Western core audience, even more than Vita (at least, Vita got Assassin's Creed and COD last year)

Was wondering what the 2 DS games were doing up there and it turns out Argos is doing a bundle again. Guess the Vita one is still ongoing because KZ: M and VT4 are still charting. Nice to see that people still bought KZ to form a gap between both.

People just look at that and think its another Wii game, and they already have remotes gathering dust somewhere. Hardly helps the situation.

The demo units alone make the console look like a wii.
