This is the 1st week More Brain Training outsold Brain Training right?
Wonder why the original has sold more up until now.

I also just noticed that Viva Pinata has been back. Did it get a price drop or bundle?

Bundled with Forza.

WOW at Brain Training.

Sonic and Mario still going great.

Slight drop for Galaxy - Super Paper Mario also makes a random appearance.

Uncharted hanging in there.

I wonder if were going to get news that the DS broke another record last week. Top 2 titles being Dr Kawashima bode well for hardware.

I reckon SMG would be a lot higher if there was stock available as well.

Assassin's Creed doing well on both platforms, no doubt due to the £30 price tag in GAME last week.

I Wow at CoD4 and Assassin's legs. Damn they both selling well on both consoles. WTF at Mario Party 8 (ughh so bad) and Cooking Mama DS. Nintendo is having a wonderful christmas/life (insert Jimmy Stewart pic).

Good for Uncharted, its still on the chart. Sony should make a bundle of it, it deserves to sell more. And go NFS!

CoD Almighty!

Activision claim their first UK Christmas All Formats No1 with ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’, ending what had been a close and hard fought battle with a convincing victory.

An impressive 53% rise in sales moves it up one place to No1, pushing it almost 35,000 units ahead of Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed’ at No2. Successful retailer promotions on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of ‘CoD 4’ and ‘Assassin’s Creed’ ensured that no other titles could come close as Ubisoft’s visually stunning game stole 6 places, up from No8 to No2 (+92%). EA miss out on the All Formats Christmas No1 for the first time since 2002, when Rockstar’s ‘GTA Vice City’ took the crown. EA has to settle for the next 3 places in the All Formats Chart with ‘The Simpsons Game’ (+31%) up 2 places to No3 and ‘FIFA 08’ (+8%) and ‘Need for Speed: ProStreet’ (+12%) both down one place to No’s 4 and 5 respectively. Both ‘Brain Training’ titles remain in the All Formats Top 10 with the original (+23%) down 2 places to No8 and the sequel (+67%) up 3 places to No6. Outside the All Formats Top 5, sales are very tight with only 2,000 units separating No5 from No8.

Nintendo equal EA with 3 All Formats Top 10 games thanks to a huge surge in sales of ‘Wii Play’ (+148% – coinciding with the best week ever for Wii hardware), up from No17 to No10, while THQ are pinned down at No7 with ‘WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008’ (+36%). Last week’s reigning champion Sega’s Wii ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games’ pulls up, slipping 8 places to No9 (-9%) – the only Top 10 title to see a week-on-week sales dip.

It was in the UK charts for a couple of weeks or so, then disappeared...pity

The UK needs to get to Virmire. That would change their tune and start selling units.

They also need to start using fresh, local ingredients.

So we know this was the best Wii hardware week.

The fact that the game dropped when all the other games went up several % means people were force to buy the game to get their hands on the Wii. Even Nintendo admitted the forced bundles and know how detrimental this can be to post Christmas sales.

As long as its "bundled" I think it'll do ok.

Is it though? I asked before but no one answered. Game.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk show no Uncharted bundles.

I know Portugal has them though.

From what I saw AC is a bit cheaper than Uncharted in the shops i.e. £29.99 vs £34.99 and £39.99 for everything else.

Wow, will we see a PS3 version of a game outsell the 360 version next week? You think that's possible?
Paradise and Haze are the only contenders I can think of. Wouldn't bet on Burnout though.

Wow COD4 and Assassins Creed are selling a lot on 360 and PS3. Way to go Activision and Ubisoft.

Great to see Uncharted hanging in there nicely. Also great to see EA miss the no.1 spot this year. Fully deserved after the tat they keep bringing out and ProStreet not going down very well.

I think Assassin's Creed stock situation was better this week for the PS3, which may explain (partly at least) the bump in sales.

Just because of GAF, I made a friend who just bought a PS3 purchase Uncharted. But only for you GAF.

I would like to play through it but not on a PS3, I don't want to invest.

Reasons foir the top three as it is,
- More Brain Training is top because Brain Training is selling out very fast, the alternative solution for consumers is of course, the sequel.
- Brain Training sells extremely fast, if more stock, this would have been first..
- or would it? Mario and Sonic demand is through the roof, the biggest reason why it is third is because it sold through all it's stock past few weeks and not enough deliveries are coming through.

no nfs at number 1? i guess this christmas isnt bad after all:D
Though we don't have numbers. I seriously think with their imminent acquisition of the F1 license, they should consider making Need For Speed every 18 months.

The slip from Christmas number 1 is pretty significant.
