Just an fyi that I put in my phone number for the android app on the site.. and it smsd me a link that took me to the 2013 app in the blackberry story (obv. Because I'm on a black berry!) but yeh in case you get any weird questions from the 3 other blackberry owners in the country now you know why

The Blackberry has an App, but Windows Phone is forced to use the website version?
The backbone of the app is build of 'Guidebook', which supports iOS and Android.

Getting a little worried... Ordered my tickets end of last month and have yet to receive my tickets... (I am in Perth if that matters at all? Would they still be sent out?)
I'd honestly suggest shooting an email over to info@paxaustralia.com.au to get them to check the delivery status just in case!

for reference - when was the cutoff date? I ordered pretty late so I assume I pick them up at the venue.

I don't know when the cut-off date was as i was only told i missed it but i ordered 15th September.
There should be a Smash panel and you can get hands on with the New 3DS.
Any more panels?
So after umming and uhhing about it, I decided I'm going to PAX. Thankfully I work at Halfbrick, so I've been able to get a ticket - by doing a half of the Halfbrick Panel!

On that note - one of the things that caught me out last year at PAX was our friends not being let into a lot of bars because of how we were dressed. I thought we were pretty alright, but apparently those damn Hipsters in Melbourne have made this extremely difficult now. What rules should I follow in regards to getting into Bars in Melbourne?

I hope so. My buddies told me there was a huge League of Legends setup last year. Dota didn't have LAN back then so it makes sense why they didn't have it then, but would be sweet if the had some sort of Dota presence this year.
Stick near the bars on South Wharf Promenade, they've all been briefed on the oncoming PAX invasion
Otherwise Wharf Bar just across the river is doing gaming themed drinks and pizza, and World Bar down past Crown Casino is doing stuff with PAX too.

1 week to go. Damn the last few months have gone super quick. I better make sure the wife hasn't thrown out my passes.

It's not hte hipsters. I used to live in fitzroy... and would go in to countless bars just wearing tshirt and jeans. same with the cbd...

It's the lack of swag. Us southerners? Plenty of swag. Them Brisbanites? No swag.
Club X. Not actually a part of AusPAX, but most certainly 18+.
Just around the Docklands. But in the CBS none of them liked us.
We ended up making great friends with The owner of the James Squire Hotel at the Docklands. We'd stay till 2 in the morning drinking with him. It was awesome, but it wasn't mingling with other devs or anything - just the group I came with.

Driving home to Bendigo on Thursday, catching the train to Melbourne super early on Saturday. (Not going Friday because it's my Dad's birthday, and I'm rarely home at this time of year.)
Also decided this week to head to the Beta Bar on Sunday for the after party. Thinking I might catch this weeks Doctor Who in between...

Side note: It's not looking like there'll be a lot (if any) pinball at AusPAX itself. Can't say I'm not disappointed, but it'll still be fun to hang out with folks from here
Talks and stuff haven't grabbed me much either, so I guess I'll be hanging in the retro area with Gaz the entire time I'm there.Not that there's a problem with that

Well I'm not exactly the designer of the Ghostbusters set, I just made the initial pitch/prototype which got voted on and then redesigned by LEGO into the official set. Other than that everything else is correct.

At something like PAX, that really doesn't narrow it down in the slightest.
Is anyone going to PAX checking out the Owning Your Geek panel? Any chance you could record it on your phone or something? I'm stuck on a train with obstructed tracks and am almost definitely going to miss it. Shame as it's the one across the whole weekend I REALLY had a vested interested in.
