Won't stop picking the right nation
So I saw this while googling Your Inner fish and thought I would leave it here.

A refutation of the evolutionary 'myths' in Your Inner Fish by a creationist.

No wonder they don't have any positive scientific evidence, it is all they can do just to keep up with refuting new evidence for evolution.
That doesn't explain some of the more bizarre oddities of human development and what that reveals about our phylogeny (in other words, our evolutionary relationship to other organisms). For example, as Shubin points out in his book, when we are still in the womb our knees and elbows will be oriented in the exact same direction, just like the limbs of a fish. That only makes sense through common descent.

The book, by the way, is a short but great read; the series is also a good substitute, because it includes many of the same anecdotes and examples which are occasionally taken word for word from the book.

never heard of this, will DVR or find it on demand.
If you're from the US, you actually have until May 7th to stream the second and third episodes online for free at PBS's site. For some reason, the first episode has already expired and is unlisted.

I was a little less interested in tonight's episode, probably because it dealt with primate ancestry which tends to be a well covered subject in other documentaries and science based shows. Still, some fascinating stuff like the genetic history of color vision, and I am absolutely part of the 80% to complain about back problems.

It doesn't really matter because

How does this happen? Is it random? No, we can totally rule out random similarity. Statistically speaking, it's essentially zero probability that this could be random. Could it be somehow functionally necessary that these repeats be the same? That's unlikely, because some of these repeats are naturally variable and you would never even notice. So you could change them, and nothing would happen. Could it be inheritance from a common ancestor? That's at least a logical possibility. A creationist has to rule that out, though, because the Bible says that God created humans separately from apes. And that is why this similarity has to be the result of design. We know that God created apes and humans separately. The similarities they share must by necessity be a result of that creation event.

Creationist and baraminologist Todd Charles Wood on the similarities between human and ape genomes.

All they need is to invoke some special pleading and they can explain everything.
