IIRC, if it works with an X360 gamepad it'll work with an X1 gamepad. So how does this work? Will any PC game supporting controllers support this?
Pardon my ignorance!

Any PC game that supported X360 controller will work with this.
Do most Steam controller-supported games allow for 360 gamepads?
So does this mean game developers won't have to change a thing other than maybe changing the Xbox 360 buttons display to Xbox One for future titles?
The bumpers require absolutely no movement for me to hit other than pressing down with the middle knuckle of my trigger finger. It's the only controller other than the 360 controller that's designed specifically to allow you to hit the bumper and the trigger at the same time with one finger without ever taking your finger off the trigger.
The 360 controller is pretty much the official Steam controller for the moment. It's been like that for a while. If a controller is supported, the 360 one is the first on the list.Do most Steam controller-supported games allow for 360 gamepads?
It even changes the keyboard icons to xbox controller button icons in games.
Would be so great to get official support in games that would switch to PS icons, XBO or X360 icons depending on what you had plugged in, but probably too much to ask!
OK I feel really dumb but i cannot get my ctonroller to work.
i downloaded the drivers and pluged the controller into my pc, i hear the little music, then nothing.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
Download both sets of drivers, I had to.
Does transistor support gamepad?
I get an error message for the x86 driver.
Just give us a menu option and include the assets. Seems like something that would be quite easy to implement, especially if they already have most of the work done for the PS4 version.

That tease!
I have a sinking feeling it might be almost driver level or something, but I don't actually know. Someone call feep.
I am so confused I know thats Halo 2 vista but it running on the surface. It could be the surface 3 though that begs the question how if there was never a digital release for halo 2 vista. What does it mean, are we finally getting a digital release for it?
For displaying the textures in game? No.
Many games can actually be override if you can find the Xbox texture assets and write over them with the same file type.
The easy explanation is he ripped an iso file and installed it via that way, but there are other methods as well.
PC gamers have been asking what will happen to games like Halo 2, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, etc after GFWL inevetibly goes down. Hopefully this is Microsoft acknowledging those people.
Some other people on GAF also jumped to the conclusion that, 'HALO 2 ANNIVERSARY CONFIRMED.' Go figure on that logical leap.
I did too. Download and install the x64 driver and see if that helps. I had to for some reason.
Given what happened with SF4, I'm hoping they just make GFW keys into Steam keys and put those games all on Steam.
Also, I wonder if the headset stuff works with these drivers?
It's more that I would rather have a button on the controller mute my speech rather than have to push to talk on a keyboard. Although I guess I have my old Trittons that have a microphone mute button.
Yeah not working either. weird. Is the light on the controller supposed to light up?
Oh well I guess for now I'll stick with my 360 controller for now.
Can just about guarantee this is how Microsoft handles the situation.
In-home streaming or he installed it from an ISO? It's not really that hard to do.I'd say I guess he is playing Halo 2 before GFWL shuts down... but I'm more curious as to how he is playing it on a tablet.

It uses a standard micro-USB <-> USB cable, like most phones do. USB 2.0 cables work without a problem. Is the Xbox one controller charging port usb 3.0? Just asking if I need a specific usb cable to use with it.
Doesn't work with the 360 receiver. Wired is the only option right now.No way to use it wireless yet though he?
I assume the x360 wireless pc pad does not work right?
Yeah, that's how I feel too. Have they said anything about releasing a new dongle so it'll have wireless support? Wired is better than nothing, but without wireless support I'll just continue to use a 360 controller. No wireless? Meh...

Mine didn't work either until I ran Windows Update and installed all the "important" patches. I believe specifically it needs .net framework to be up to date. Otherwise the 64 bit drivers would install but throw up error 37 and the x86 drivers would refuse to install.Yeah, drivers not working for me either. Can't even install x86 drivers on my 64-bit machine. Hrm.
