PC Drivers for Xbox One controller are out.

I hope more and more developers start to realize that the 360 pad isn't the default controller anymore. They likely already have assets available for the PS4 version of the game, so include Playstation button prompts with the release. Allow us to switch between our preferences within the menu system.

Transistor did this in a way, Supergiant natively supported the DS4 out of the box including prompts and use of the lightbar.

You think there are more people using the PS4 controller than the 360 controller? The 360 controller is going to be the "default" for a long time.

Cool , a shame no wireless yet so ill stick to my ds4 for now.

I honestly dont see myself switching anyways since the touchpad on the ds4 can be used as a mouse , and shows up on the pc as a 360 controller anyways , but its def a step in the right direction!

I shall test tonight regardless.

im excited to try this. For me the Xbox one controller is a huge upgrade over the 360 controller.

Now when are we getting new colors? I will use the one that came with my XB1 but I refuse to own multiple controllers that are the same color.

I considered the Titanfall controller but im not a big fan of that one.

Yeah.. it still is and will be for awhile. =\ Don't let the PS4 hype/success mislead you.

Also, I used to use the duke controller back during the Xbox days on PC. lol I still have it and modded to conenct easier.

rumble works but i think the game need to specifically have rumble trigger support. i dont think any game has that right now

Trials Fusion and the future Dead Rising 3 are the only multiplat or soon to be multiplat games I'd know for sure. In Trials Fusion and Forza 5, it's very obvious. It's super strong in Dead Rising 3 as well but it's only when your gun is getting close to running out of ammo/breaking.

Lol of course it's my fault. After all, this is the first controller with shoulder buttons I've ever used. /s
The excuses for the shitty bumpers are truly fascinating. Last time I said the bumpers sucked in another thread, someone said that it's because I'm pressing them in like buttons rather than rolling my finger over them.
Just out of curiosity, are you pressing the bumper with your finger tip, or the 2nd knuckle of your finger? (Guess the anatomical term is "medial phalange")

Awesome, Thanks

It doesn't matter you should be able to push the button from multiple angles. Getting used to something doesn't mean it isn't worse than the 360 controller. I could use the analog sticks on the DS3, that doesn't mean they weren't shit.

This was the only thing I've installed in days and today was the first time I got a BSOD on my Windows 8 desktop in the year that I've had it. Not pointing fingers, but oddly coincidental. Uninstalling for now.

Hey Microsoft! Where are the drivers for the best controller of all time?

My hands are huge.

you can use it if you use an xbox to ps2 converter, then hook that up to a ps2 to 360 converter. you may get a millisecond of input lag or something, but whatever. I used that setup to go through Halo Anniversary on my 360.

i'm sure there's some way to use it as a USB controller to by converting the tip without going through all of that, the controller is a USB controller at heart anyways.

Hm, do I need to restart after installing the drivers? Plugging in my Xbox One controller does nothing and hitting the home button just turns on my Xbone.

I don't have an Xbone, but the controller I just bought worked immediately when I plugged it in, no restart after driver installation.

Shouldn't need to. I simply installed the driver first. Then I plugged in the controller. The guide button light turns on, the controller vibrates like your iphone does in silent mode and then everything worked. I pressed the guide button and big picture mode booted up just like the 360 controller.

If you're willing to put out a bit more cash, evil controllers do a lot of colors now.

Standard paint job is 89.99 us dollars.

Expensive but I might have to do it. I want a green controller and by the time one comes out the Xbox Two will released.

Hell, it might not even happen by then. 360 still doesn't have an official green controller outside of that ugly Halo 3 controller

x86 are the 32-bit drivers, right? Xbox controllers are blue tooth right, so if my PC has a blue tooth sensor should it work wirelessly?

Pretty sure, the controller w/ the kit did. It's your standard miccro USB cable with a light on it that shows you that it's charging.

How long is that USB cable?

Oh wow, kinda sucks if you buy just the controller it doesn't come with a micro-to-USB cable.

I guess in that case I'll wait for the 360 pad I have right now to die before getting the X1 one.

No it would kind of suck if they bundled millions of unneeded cables with controllers. They cost like £1.99, hardly a big deal if you need to buy one?!

Thanks for answering for him. /s

The reason I ask is that I believe that's the way that Microsoft designed them to be used. I understand some people don't want to use them that way, and that's probably where the frustration comes from.

Not defending a potentially bad design choice, but pointing out that trying to use something the way that it wasn't intended will lead to frustration no matter what it is.

That's what I did. Bought an extension cord (breakaway) and soldered it with a usb cable to craft a convenient adapter. Totally recommended.

How big of a pain is it to get a PS4 controller working. Is it universal and works with every 360 game? Do you need some annoying program to always be running in the background to use it?

Anybody prodded comments (here, Twitter, Etc...) from the Xbox brass about their plans for a wireless solution yet?

...Are you looking to have the controller control a PC game and an Xbone game simultaneously?

Why would I do that? Is it too much to ask that I don't have to re-sync the controller every time I unplug it from my PC? Didn't have to do it with the dualshock 4, and that's just an unofficial driver.

Now offer a wireless solution and I have a controller to buy.

This. No interested in wireless at all.

People buying the wired controller now to later upgrade to wireless - be warned. As far as I know they offered only a wirless BUNDLE controller in europe. So if you wanted the dongle, you had to buy a second controller.

I'm waiting.

MS finally came through, the Spencer effect!

And owning both consoles, the Xbox One blows the PS4 gamepad out of the water for me. I can't do jack shit in the UFC demo on the DS4 and I realized even the face buttons don't feel as good the Xbox gamepad.

Man, it's been a bumpy ride for them since they last announced their console but I gotta say I'm quite please with how they handle themselves nowadays.
