PC Drivers for Xbox One controller are out.

I freaked out when I first used the sticks. Now I can't stand going back to the 360 pad. You get used to it quickly.

How are they compared to the DS3 and Wii U Pro Controller sticks? For me, the Pro Controller has perfect sticks and I think that the DS3 sticks are too loose.

Yeah, that is a good question. Almost all 360 controllers I've purchased have had one drifting stick right from the start. I really hope that's not an issue on the Xbox One controllers.
 
Hmm, may need to go pick up a xbone controller now. I been using the DS4, but always preferred to stick layout on the 360 controller.
 
So. Can anyone tell me if it would work to use one Xbox One Controller and one 360 controller on the same wireless dongle?

(Besides, when will MS release new dongles. The old ones are really prone to break)

You can't use a Xbox One controller with the 360 wireless dongle. It's not the same tech.

I haven't used the Pro Controller, but it violently hate the DS3, and refuse to play anything using it if at all avoidable. The X1 sticks are a lot looser than the 360 though, almost in line with the DS3, but they still feel precise which I could never say about using the DS3 (god, I hate it so much...).
 
Eh, prefer the 360 controller to my XBO controller. The bumpers are just in an odd place on the XBO controller and require way to much movement to press compared to the 360 and PS4 controller.

That said, I will try this anyway. Still haven't updated my XBO controller firmware yet.

DS4 is good. I have a preference for asymmetrical, but I've have no real complaints about the DS4 overall. I prefer the stick resistance on it. apply the DS4 stick resistance to the X1 form, stick a Saturn d-pad on it, and you have the perfect controller.

EDIT: And swap out the bumpers of course.. because omfg...
 
3-4 player with the 360 wireless dongle is awesome on PC...if XBO ever gets a dongle like that, I'm so in for at least one, and probably more down the line once my existing controllers crap out, and/or prices fall on XBO.
 
I caved and drove back to best buy. They swapped out the DOA pad, and now I'm shooting creeps in watch dogs perfectly. Hopefully they will sell a wireless dongle someday.

same. i even have a new black one. love the 360 controller except for grbg dpad and dint really care for the bone controller from the little time ive spent with it at kiosks.

Once you get the drivers installed you'll be happy of the fact that you didn't have to rely on any proprietary dongle to get wireless to work. DS4 on Windows only needs a cheap bluetooth dongle and following instructions.

What's great is that you can turn off the LED and mix and match DS3 controllers; up to four controllers total.

I had a wired 360 controller with my PC so I didn't know that. That said, I don't have to resync with the DS4 after unplugging it so... yeah.
I think I'll stick to the DS4. The touchpad was sorely missed today.
 
As someone who uses a 360 controller currently for my PC game pad, is an Xbone upgrade worth the $60? I'm perfectly happy with my 360 controller (which is wireless)

Play and Charge kit seems too expensive... I really should've went with the DS4.

You don't need any batteries if you are using the USB cable, it will operate as a wired controller.

Oh, come on... I honestly thought the adapter was just for charging the rechargeable batter that comes with the Play and Charge kit. I didn't realize the thing could function without a battery.

Shouldn't be hard to find one if you have any recent (non-Apple) smartphone.

No, that's understandable since that is how the 360 controllers worked; the cable only charged the battery while still operating like a wireless controller. The Xbox One controller uses the USB cable to transmit when connected though.

Found a cable. It's working beautifully! Amazing controller, i have to admit.
 
I'm sure it doesn't make a difference but does anyone know if the connection type on the xbox one controller is usb 2.0 or 3.0 capable? I know the Xbox One ports are 3.0 but I never heard anything about the controller benefiting from it or not.

The bumpers require absolutely no movement for me to hit other than pressing down with the middle knuckle of my trigger finger. It's the only controller other than the 360 controller that's designed specifically to allow you to hit the bumper and the trigger at the same time with one finger without ever taking your finger off the trigger.
 
I had to go to Gamestop today to see if I liked the Xbone controller, but it feels a little cramped to me. I think I might stick with the DS4 at least until a wireless dongle comes out for the xbone controller.
