PC Drivers for Xbox One controller are out.

Dammit, just bought one today assuming official drivers = connect via bluetooth. Weird that I can use a DS4 wirelessly but not an X1 controller on PC.

How come nobody has written a DS4Tool type thing for X1 controller?

One controllers don't use bluetooth. Some sort of proprietary connection method.

Can I use a DS4 with USB connector to PC and have it get detected or do I need to use a button mapper? (I'm guessing it's not supported/no drivers)

Picked up an Xbox One controller this weekend, making the switch from the 360 pad.

Really enjoying the new feel. It's nice going through some of my backlog with a new controller. Gives some of these games a "new" feel, if that makes any sense.

Wi-Fi Direct is used for Smartglass, not the controllers.

Oh, damn.

It's not my fault the XB1 reveal was a disaster even from a slide perspective

Huh, never noticed that. But they did say later on that it uses proprietary radio, not Wi-Fi Direct to connect to the console, since it was a common misconception (of Microsoft's own making, it would appear).

Might have been asked already, but is there a custom driver out yet that disables the rumble-on-wake 'feature'? It was amusing at first, but I have my controller sat on top of my PC whilst playing - the noise it makes vibrating on top of a steel box isn't pleasant, especially if I turn my PC on at 6am before work

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 won't let me turn on support for controller input >_>
This is not the buzzkill I needed at 2:30 am lol
I have the drivers installed works fine in Just Cause 2.

I have a problem, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me confirm it.

My controllers disconnect and reconnect when the mini USB cable connector is pressed even slightly. Particularly happens when you push the cable end that's connected to the controller from the back towards the front of the controller (or from the bottom to the top if that's how you see it). The X in the middle blinks off and on briefly. Happens on both of my controllers, and causes havoc in some games. Tried with 4 different USB cables.

Anyone else able to reproduce this?

What's the difference between the x64 and x86? My Windows is 8.1 64 bit.

x64 is shorthand for x86-64 which is x86 with 64-bit extensions. With a 64-bit OS and 64-bit CPU like you have, you want the x64 drivers

the drivers should install automatically in windows 8.1 anyway. no need to download anything

I had an original Xbone game pad which is fucked. The left stick always pushes forward if left alone, so playing games with it or navigating the UI is nigh impossible.

Gonna pick up a new one tonight. Are the wireless adapters out yet? If not, do we know when they will be out? And do we know if they wil be compatible with the current Xbone gamepads?

With BC, Microsoft should just let at least wired 360 controllers work with the X1. It's a bit silly streaming a game to my pc and being able to use 360 controllers, but having to switch back immediately once the stream ends.

I understand the motive, but the xbone to pc streaming makes it look incredibly arbitrary

This is exactly how I feel about specialty controllers like steering wheels and arcade sticks.

Sweet. I've installed them anyway. But if I don't need them I could delete them.
