no dx 11 support?
Yeah exactly, this is what I want to know, forced DX12 could be a big issue as it often has stuttering issues and FROM are known to often have stuttering generally. It doesn't matter if you have a 3090, you can't brute force your way through issues like that.
Open world game so the benefits of DX12 could shine there, but also I'm betting it will have forced triple buffered v-sync from DX12's forced borderless windowed mode. Ie a bunch of added input lag you don't want in a game like this, it was horrendous in Kena's DX12 mode for me, like unplayable at 30fps and felt like 30fps frametime lag even when running at 60fps (I couldn't find a way to mitigate that, it was either constant noticetable stutters in DX11 or no stutters and increased input lag in DX12).
Hopefully exclusive fullscreen can be forced or at least external v-sync used if thats the case in Elden Ring. This isn't a game where you want stutters or bad input lag, but I'm guessing most would choose the former if given a choice based on most FROM games performance on consoles before now.
To be fair a FROM game will have a lot less "engine lag" (I just mean the lag you cant mitigate by that) generally than Kena does so maybe the triple-buffered v-sync extra frame of lag increase if its there won't make nearly as big of a difference and will be worth it to handle draw call stuttering.
